Okay...I must be losing my mind. I started this thread this morning before my workout but it's not here! Maybe the post didn't take??

I did my Jillian Book Circuit Backside and modified the cardio portions on the rebounder with my boot on. Workout took me a bit longer cuz I ended up doing about 4 sets of seated leg curls cuz I kept adding resistance to the door attachment. It kept feeling too easy...but watch - I won't be able to walk tomorrow. I added ankle weights and DBs for abs. I added on about 15 minutes or so of one of my new Firm (cardio portions). I tried doing it on the floor with my boot on and my HR only got up to 130. Workout was 1 hour 23" and I burned 500 calories. I also did All Systems Go off of Ravi & Ana's Yoga Quick Fixes.

Suz - I hope my butt doesn't get any bigger from spinning.....more compact, tight and harder is fine!! and my legs don't need to get any larger either!

Dallys- thanks for that link yesterday. I sent the link to my Mom....as my computer's been goofy and I want to print it out over on my Mom's computer.

Suz & Dallys - I don't know if you ladies would be interesed, but I got this really cool spinning DVD yesterday. I'm going to do it tomorrow, but I previewed it and I'm really excited about it. It's called Cy-Yo. It's got 2 workouts on it that are 1 hour each. Each workout is a spinning workout that starts with 10 minutes of yoga and ends with 10 minutes of yoga. It is done in intervals, hills, etc and the cool part is that it is all done to local Boston bands ....sort of like lighter rock music and each song goes so well with the section and cadence you are working at. It's like 20 bucks ...which I think is a good deal for two workouts...Fire and Ice. www.cy-yo.com
The instructor's a little "off the wall" and intense....but I think it's cool and the class has some "less desirable" shapes in it if you know what I mean ....cuz it's a live spinning class done in a Gold's Gym. Just thought I'd run it by you ladies in case you want something for the Winter. I'm doing one of the workouts tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted.

BPAL Lunar update is live and the one scent, Etmathides, has my name written all over it....black orchid, black amber, black currant, wood violet, blue musk, rose attar........sounds amazing. I ordered more than 1. The lunar tee is pretty cool this month too.

This morning was back, biceps and traps.

Back/Traps
Wide Grip Pullups: 6/5/4½
Barbell Rows: 75# - 3 sets/8 reps
One Arm Rows: 40# - 3 sets/10 reps
Incline DB Shrugs: 40's - 3 sets/12 reps
***Notes: Was kind of bummed with the wide grip pullups, I really want to get to 3 sets/6 reps. These are just so freakin' hard for me. Bonehead move of the day: while doing one arm rows I brought the dumbbell right into my hop bone. Dang did that hurt! I'll have a nice bruise there for sure.

Biceps
Barbell Curls: 60# - 3 sets/6 reps
Zottman Curls: 20's - 3 sets/10 reps
Concentration Curls: 20# - 3 sets/12 reps
***Notes: This was puke status. I'm happy to have gotten to 60# curls with good form. I could not believe how hard the zotts were for me today. I went up in weight but only by 3#. I can't believe that made such a difference. Biceps were quite pumped by the time I was done!

Hope you all have a great workout! I'm really enjoying the beautiful weather we have had her now for weeks. It is awesome!
 
Dallys- forgot to ask your opinion. I'm leaving for vacation next Friday. I usually do my Jillian Circuits on Mond, Wed, Frid and Sun...so I'll only be able to fit a front and backside workout in on Mon and Wed and Friday morning we leave. Do you think I should do the circuits that week or would it be better for me to do a total body on Mon and total body on Wed? what do you think?? You think the Jillian circuit would be good enough weight work? or do I need more?

I'm off today. Woo hoo!!! DH only has to work half day. I rode with DH this morning. He only had an hour, but yesterday I rode 19.4 miles or whatever and today we rode 18.5 miles. Yesterday it took me an hour and 14 minutes and today it took us 59 minutes! Talk about puke status workout! My quads were burning so bad. When we were almost home he told me to keep going and what our average was. I swear my legs didn't want to move any more. I love training with him though. I'm gonna color my hair and then do biceps and triceps.

Lora - I doubt you would get a big butt from the bike! Some people get bigger leg muscles, but I've never heard of a big butt. :) I would think that if you start to see your legs getting bigger (which I bet you won't), then don't push those hard gears when they tell you to. Just spin faster instead of harder. That WILL get your HR up just the same. Trust me! Let me know what you think of that new spinning workout. I might get it if you like it. I'm always looking for variety in the winter since I can't do much step.

Debbie - OUCH! I cringed when I read about your bonehead move. And 60# barbell curls. Good grief woman!!!

Morning Maniacs! It's raining here and is so peaceful and quiet outside. I love it. We sure need it, it's been so hot and dry here and and fires everywhere. I'm still kind of on vacation as I don't start back to work until friday. Today I plan on doing a CC and then some yoga.

Lora- Let us know if you like that DVD, sounds cool with the yoga in it. I would think doing the 2 Jillian circuits would be enough. If you were real creative you might somehow figure a way to combine the 2 circuits into one for a longer total-body circuit and do it that way for Mon. and Wed.. Me, I'd just go with the 2 as is and look forward to my vacation. But that's just me.;)

Debbie- Great job on the workout! Hope your hip doesn't turn all purple.:p So, you are doing 2 body parts a day? Can't remember what you plan was, just that you made your own this time.

Suz- All I can think of with the doping is that alot must get away with it or they wouldn't even try it. I just don't get it. It's just so dumb to even think they won't get caught. It sure doesn't help the sport any.

Stopped eating protein bars just because of the prices..4 boxes would last me 2 weeks and about $35 too. Been elbroko lately.
 
Hey again! I finished up CC #1 and it was hard. LOL! It's been over 2 weeks since I've ridden my bike and I'm losing condition really fast. Not good when Dh is getting in 50 miles rides a few times a week on his road bike. He's going to hate riding with me when I get my bike put back together. I've been known to cuss when he gets irritated with me on rides...like a sailor!

Toasty- No fun being elbroko. I'm there right now. Vacation whiped me clean.

Dallys - Your DH is doing 50 mile rides a couple times a week? Oh oh - you're gonna be cryin' when you get your bike back! :)

Char - I hear ya. Those bars are expensive. DH told me not to spend any money until payday. x( So we can all be elbroko together. I even had to be good at the grocery store!

I usually don't like to get involved in heated threads, but I just did that very thing on that Home Depot one on OD. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. I think I better just stay over here where it's nice and quiet and I stay out of trouble. :p

Suz- Yeah, dh rode alot on vacation. He usually only does one 45 mile ride on weekends and mt. bikes during the week. This road biking thing is really making his endurance soar! I'll never catch up!

I just read that thread you posted on. Some people just don't think before they post. I think I'll stay with you over here and stay far away from that thread.:) I also haven't heard hardly anything about the subject. I need to google it.

Dallys - So...maybe you'll become a roadie AND a mountain biker! :) Look out! You're not going to believe what I have on right now - QVC!!!! I've NEVER watched QVC before. But it said Mr. Christmas was on and I wanted to see what that was. Now I'm in the mood to make some Christmas stuff. Hmmm...

Oh Dallys - that story is sooooooo sad. You might do yourself a favor and just stay away from it. I'm sure you'll hear about it sooner or later. I wouldn't Google it if I were you.

I called DH's work and told the secretary that I was watching QVC so he might want to hurry up and get home (not to worry, she's a friend). He just called and said he's on his way. Yipppeeee!!!!! It worked (not really, he was leaving at noon anyway). He told me we didn't need that cute little Santa climbing up the ladder with Christmas lights. Why not??? :p

I finished my workout. I have some guys here putting in our home water filter system. Today I started with Shari Jacqueline's Criss Cross Cardio no Str, then I put in Sweatfest step and did the interval premix and the first 3 combos of section 2 which I repeated twice working on the choreography, I then did Slow & Heavy shoulders, I couldn't get my Pyramid dvd to load for abs so I did BOSU blast abs/core then cleaned the Pyramid dvd and it worked so I did the absand stretch from this too, I finished with Rainbeau Mars Dawn bonus yoga.
Shoulders
dumbbell front raise 10#dumbbells 3 sets
dumbbell side lateral raise 15#dumbbells 1 set, 12# 2 sets
dumbbell posterior delt raise 10# dumbbells 3 sets
dumbbell seated overhead press 20# dumbbells 2 sets
lying rotator cuff 8# 2 sets each side

Suz, dh eats healthy because I cook him healthy food. I make him oatmeal in the am with splenda and soy milk, he takes a protein bar to work and then I make a healthy dinner. He doesn't do bad. I keep fruit and jerky around for snack. He eats whatever he wants when we go out though.

ROFL about you watching QVC! That channel posesses me! I sit in a trance as I watch with phone in one hand a credit card in the other. DH has to come and snap his fingers in front of my face to break the spell. LOL! I was at my worst when they got me to buy the "Tony Little" digital Scale. ROFLMAO!

I just had a great visit with the wife of one of my nephews. She is trying the vegie/vegan thing (lost alot of weight) and was so excited that I was familiar with it and that I had all these books and could actually carry on an intellegent conversation about it. She said I'm the first person that she's been able to talk to about it without them thinking she's gone psycho. I lent her my "Vegan Planet" cook book and she was estatic!:) She's run marathons and now is into pilates and yoga. It was fun for both of us because as you all know, not many people get it. You start talking exercise or nutrition and their eyes start to glaze over.

Diane Sue - Is that for your drinking water? I tried to get DH to eat oatmeal. I read to him how great it was for you out of Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book and he was all for it. You should have seen him eating it. The faces he made. He said it tasted like paste. I tried putting a bunch of blueberries in it. Nope. I told him I'd put PB in it and he wanted nothing to do with it. I can't talk him into trying it again. I was going to make shrimp pasta tonight but he couldn't wait so he ate PB&J. :(

That is too funny about you and QVC. DH promptly came home and changed the channel. I guess he didn't want the Santa climbing the ladder. :p Every party needs a pooper, I always say. That's great about your nephew's wife. I'm sure she was excited. I still haven't used my Vegan Planet cookbook. Remember how badly I needed it? Hmmm...maybe this fall. It'll be here before we know it!

Suz, it is for the whole house filtration. Laundry and everything is bad. Cooking is bad as well. I feel the same as your dh about oatmeal. I always thought it was slimey. The best is steel cut oats. Rolled oats is much better than instant. Have you tried the old cinnamon and raisins? Maybe add some other ingredients. What about the recipe in the clean eating book with dates and quinoa? I know it can be good. I prefer oatmeal in cookies LOL. Won't do that though. Add something to give it texture. Maybe just give it up and cook something like Kashi Pilaf that has Oats in it. Makes a good cereal.
