Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did WSFL cardio. Six rounds of 60/90 intervals (was supposed to be 60/120 but I cut the recoveries short). I used the Rebounder for the intervals. Only got my HR up to 162 today. For the 20 minute segment, I did Strike Zone and my HR hovered around 80% of max. Total cardio with cool down and stretch was 55" and I burned 483 calories.

Deb - Finally saw who sings my new fave song.....it's Pop Evil and the song is called Hero. Check it out. I will try to gather more names for you.

Dallys - I'm on my last week of WSFL. I'll probably play around with DVDs for a while and some Valerie/NROL workouts and then do another month rotation of WSFL since I didn't lose any weight. My eating wasn't too great with vacation recently and then starting this new job. The older I get, the more this fat holds on for dear life!!

Toasty - I feel bad that you might have to move again since you just went thru that. What town does your DH work in? Is it not a desirable place to live?

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Well I got DOMS in my boobs, but thinking that is from all the chocolate Ihave been consuming and the PMS. lol. I got the "real" DOMS in my back, legs and butt from yesterday's workout. Think I am gonna take a long walk today then do shoulders later. I have to work this evening.

Lora,

The area where dh works is very pricey. Not country..more city as well. Like the country and the way things are here, not so much up there. You know, after I got done with Butts and Guts, he came home. I had no time to shower..made him dinner and I so wanted to get in the shower, but he really insisted we drive around looking at more homes and get ice cream too. lol. I JUST COULD NOT WAIT TO GET IN THE DAMN SHOWER!!!! Gossshhh.

Hi Hardcore Fitness Maniacs,

I posted this ealier today, but since I'm six hours ahead of you, it was already posted on the second page of the forum. Let me know what you think.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I am taking a risk by emailing you early as it's 6 hours ahead of New York time. I am a lurker here and have been extremely impressed with your dedication in fitness. I've been working out for 20 years (I'm 35), and am a personal trainer and yoga instructor. I live in Germany as my husband in active duty military and will return to Chicago later this year once he gets ready to retire from the military. However, I have only been aware of Cathe for two years and know that she is MUCH BETTER than any personal trainer that I've ever had. In fact, I've used a lot of her stuff while training my clients. I have a number of Cathe DVDs (too many to type) and can easily match Cathe on all of her weights and cardio segments. In addition, I've been able to increase the intensity of some of Cathe's step workouts (from 6 in. to 8 in.) or have to do the cardio segments two times to really feel the intensity. All of this really doesn't matter except for the fact that this seems like the best check-in and challenge for me. I was wondering if you might allow me to join you? I've gotten some great feedback from your members, who are extraordinarily nice, but I wanted to respect where you are at. I was told that all I have to do is "join", but I also wanted to respect you by asking for a formal "can I????"

I hope you are all doing well--my plan for Tuesday is to do only 25 min of HIS with 4DS, train a client, and then hit legs in the gym SUPER HARD -- glutes and hams focus.

Thanks for reading,

Laura

Had an excellent workout today. I really pushed myself. My goal was doing opposing muscle supersets this week going 6-8 reps. I figure I could go heavy doing opposing muscle groups. It doesn't look like much here in print, but it was a grueling workout.

1:30 min. rest between each superset

CHEST/TRICEPS
SS #1
Barbell Bench Press:
95# - 10
100# - 8/8/7
superset w/
Decline Dumbbell Tricep Extensions:
25's - 8/7/6/6
***Never tried tricep extensions on a decline before. Really felt awesome. By the 4th set I was fried.

SS #2
Incline Dumbbell Flyes:
30's - 10/10/10/10
superset w/
Overhead Dumbbell Extensions:
40# - 8/8/8/8
***Should have went higher with the flyes but my shoulder clicks too bad when I go over 30#. So I just added a couple more reps.

SS #3
Decline Dumbbell Press:
40's - 8/8/8/8
superset w/
Close Grip Barbell Press:
85# - 7/6/6/6
***This was an awesome superset. I was making some very unlady-like sounds with this one!

ABS
Muscle Max Ab Work
***Not sure why I don't do this one much. I haven't done this ab work in probably over a year. It was a good one.

That is all...

Lora - Cool on the song! I'll download it. Thanks!

Laura - Welcome! Post your workouts and your eats! Looking forward to seeing how your training is.

Morning Maniacs! Didn't get much sleep last night as next door neighbors Mule was all caught up in a fence at 3:00 in the morning. DH and I kept thinking, "WTF" where are they, why can't they hear it? So, we called them and by the time they got out there the mule was loose from the fence but had panicked and ran and then got caught in pile of chicken wire and an old tub! Seems she had colic and everytime she laid down to roll around, she'd get caught up in something. She was just so miserable, couldn't even stand, her guts were in such pain. Anyways, by the time the emergency vet got there, she was to far into shock that they had to put her down.:( She was a fairly new mule for my neighbor and he hadn't even fully paid for her yet. Pretty sad.

Needless to say, I slept in this morning. Workout will have to be later today. Will try to do a RCR circuit. Have a late lunch planned with mom and sister too.

Lora- I hear ya on the fatloss hardship. Back in the day, just working out was enough for me, but now it's the *#$%* diet that's taken over. I hate having to be careful with what I eat...HATE IT! I've never really had to control it (to this degree) until I turned 40. It sucks!

Char- Sorry about the boob DOMS...LOL! I hate when I can't shower after a workout either. My dh has no time to wait for me to get ready. I can now get in a shower and create an almost-passable-hairdo in about 15-20 min. It's like I'm in a Nascar pit crew!

Laura- Welcome! Like Debbie says, just post your workouts and eats if you want and any other crazy stuff you feel the need to reveal.:)

Debbie- I had a question to ask you and now I've forgotten it. Can you think of it? LOL!

Teddy- Glad you got your TV figured out.:) Great workout too!

Later...

I finished my workout. I started withTracey Staehle's Strike Zone stopping at the stretch, then did her Circuit Zone stopping at the foam roller and did the upper premix skipping the w/up and finished with the foam roller and Strike Zone stretch. Total caloriees burned was 1072.
Strike Zone burned 512 calories Circuit zone burned 560 with repeating the upper. I have all of the grandchildren today. I told them I would take them to the library. So have a full day:D
Glad I am able to eat my usual diet again. Wasn't sure how much energy I could pull out this morning but was fine once I got going.
So far this morning I had a coffee protein smoothie with 1/2 scoop protein powder and a handful of unsalted sunflower seeds after my workout. Off to shower

Laura, welcome to the check in:)

Charlotte, my dh would never have got me out of the house without me getting the shower first LOL

Morning Maniacs!

Man you guys are all doing great! I have serious DOMS from the pull up attempts and hanigng leg raises.

I did cardio today - steady state on the treadmill.

I am off to Atlanta again for a couple of Braves games and a class. Will try to get a workout in while there.

Lora - - I did not loose weight on that rotation either, but I do believe I dropped body fat - according to my monitor.

I was thinking of trying it again in a few weeks also. Maybe we can try to coordinate the repeat.

I need to get better at pull ups before that though! I know i cannot do repeat sets of 6 right now - I could only two reps yesterday. Based on all the feedback yesterday, I am going to pulling up in no time. Funny, I remember when I could not do a regular push up. No I am a push up machine!

Laura - WELCOME! Do you know a girl named Brigit there on the base with you from Nashville? I, too am a personal trainer. I trained her while she was home visiting her family. She has a small daughter named Scarlett.

Take care all and thanks again for the inspiration.

Diane,

Love your warped sense of humor today! hehe. I was just out sunbathing for about 30 mins. Sipping on water and eating eggs while listening to spanish lullabies. lol. Now I got to get on to working out, but I don't think I will be burning that many cals as you.

Hey guys. Had a wicked busy weekend and then did nothing but laze around on SUnday to recover. It was awesome lol.
I did B&Gs today. Only did the standing and then did the ball abs. I thought it would never end! haha....it was great. Planning drill max tomorrow. I am working very late tonight, so I hope to get enough sleep.

Char--isn't laying in the sun so relaxing? I usually push for an hour, but don't always make it if it is too hot.

Dallys- That is horrible about the mule. That is what happened to my horse a year ago. Lord, I still miss him so much.

DS- I am SOOO with you on the shower. I always feel like a stink bomb after I WO lol.

Laura- hey! nice to meet ya. Looking foward to getting to know you

Not happy with this at all but at this point I can't really change it. Well I can, but that leaves me eating freakin' chicken and NO THANK YOU on that! I don't think the extra calories will hurt me at this point. I hope not at least.

Back from the library. Going to play The Last Word with the grandchildren in a bit. These children can come up with words so fast. I feel fuzzy brained:0 Feels good to be back into my routine. Out of salad. Just hit me I could have went outside and cut some. I had a slice of Pepperidge far German Dark wheat bread and a can of tuna with some jalapenos for lunch.

Charlotte, LOL on the spanish lullabies. If I tried sitting out in the sun my brains would be bubbling which would contribute to the fuzziness:) Sounds relaxing. I don't even want to go out and sit in the hot tub because it is way to warm.

Meaghan, I have to wash up before I take the grandchildren to school mid workouts. And I still won't get out of the car unless I really have to.

Dallys, I meant to tell you yesterday when you said to enjoy my rest day that it was spent getting the colonoscopy LOL Not the most enjoyable day. Ate like I hadn't had anything in days when I got home. I feel so sorry for that mule. That is sad.

Hey Maniacs! Getting ready to head out for lunch with mom and sister. Have no idea where we are going yet.

Meg- I thought about you and your horse last night! I knew that's what you went through. So difficult to watch. You feel so helpless.:(

Diane Sue- OH! I totally forgot! Now I feel stupid and SO not compassionate, LOL! I'm guessing you don't have the results back yet?

Later...running late!

Dallys, I didn't even think of it not being compassionate. I just thought it was funny LOL They said everything looked good and to call Friday to get the results. Not sure if I am supposed to call them or call my Dr.. Bet you had a nice time having lunch with your Mom and Sister:)

Hi Aly,

I don't know a woman named Brigit from Nashville? Do you know if she works? If so, installation? I work at Tompkins Barracks, but I travel to Campbell, Patrick Henry Village, and Patton to train clients.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

My best,

Laura
