This morning I had an excellent workout. Funny how you sometimes think you're going to have a weak workout and it turns out to be a very strong one. I even hit some personal bests today. I worked Bicep's, Tricep's and Ab's. This is what I did:

Biceps
1 min. rest between sets
EZ Barbell Curl:
50# - 12
55# - 8
60# - 7/7 (up 5#)
***Wrist hurt a little bit, seems it hurts at a certain angle and the EZ bar puts it in that angle. But once I got warmed up the pain went away.

Zottman Curls:
20's - 10
22's - 8/8 (up 2#)
***LOVE these!

Concentration Curls:
22's - 12/11/11
***These were a struggle. That 1 min. rest really makes a difference with the exercises.

Triceps
1 min. rest between sets
Close Grip Barbell Press:
90# - 8
95# - 6/6 (up 5# & PB)
***I felt really strong doing these. Had excellent form.

Skull Crushers:
55# - 12
60# - 8/7 (PB)
***These got me. I felt my left tricep get really tight. LOVE IT!!

Weighted Bench Dips:
60# - 10/10/10
***These burned like a mofo!

Abs
Body Max 2

That is all. Tomorrow is my rest day. It is FREEZING here!!!

Good Morning, I started my workout with Drill Max Premix cardio and lower blast premix no str 52 min.( I went heavier and on walking lunges held 10#, and ending lunges held 15# dumbbells)I did not want to use the arms too much so stuck with the 5's on the first cardio drill, then I did Body Max 2 Power circuits using 15# dumbbells and a 45# barbell. I will go back and do some floorwork in a little bit and some yoga/stretch.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Posted yesterday's workout last night. Today I can't decide if I want to hike or bike.

Anne,

Holy smokes...killer workout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie,

I don't see how it is humanly possible you can do skull crushers with that much...are you a ANIMAL?????????????? ;) :p I think you might be.

Lora,

I just read the review for Vampire Tears (one I ordered)...I am wondering if I will like this one. Everyone seems to be in love with Midnight Kiss so glad I ordered it since it seems to be such a good one. I got a click and ship notice today so my Scorpio perfume is on its way...so curious about that one. Will let you know.

Morning Maniacs -

I did Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing this morning Cardio & Combat Intervals. Used my 8 pound bar for the combat segments. Workout was 68" and my HRM states I burned 543 calories...but I'm having my DH double check my settings.....cuz that's sounds high to me. I did get my resting HR set at my lower normal rate of 56, but I'm having him check the weight and gender settings though.

I also did Ravi & Ana's Dancin The Chakras - Yoga section only 30" and then Yoga Dharma for Stress 20".

I got those new Yoga Journal Great Instructor DVDs that I had on preorder yesterday. One is with Baron BAptiste, Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. They are filmed at a live San Fran conference and are 90" long each. Didn't know if anyone here would be interested or not but thought I'd mention it here.

Toasty - I'm not sure about VAmpire Tears from the description. I haven't seen the review yet. I figure I can always sell it....although it's getting harder and harder to sell stuff. I've got 3 Treat Tee's I'm trying to get rid of.

Dallys - I meant to mention that the book I was telling everyone about yesterday, she even pyarmids weights in some weeks. I thought that was good. What happened to your knee that you have problems with it?

Diane Sue - do the combat intervals with the weighted bar bother your back? Whenever we do the bend down with bar between the feet, it bothers my back. What poundage body bar do you use? I felt like I could go heavier than the 8 but my next weight I have is 12 and I think that would be too heavy for me and I don't want to buy one just to use with a few videos (maybe when I get a job). I can't figure out those Helicopters to save my soul. Can you do them?

Unicor Poo is back in at Villainess in limited quantities if anyone wants to try the marshmallow cream soap. I love marshmallow!! www.Villainess.net under Temporary Insanity.

I slept with my new Traction Pillow last night. It's weird....cuz you can actually feel it tractioning the neck slightly when you position your head on it. I woke up with a bit of a weird soreness ...but they say that's normal while your spine realigns. I think it's going to help. I'm hopeful.

Have great workouts everyone.

My DH just said my HRM settings are correct.....so YAY for the calorie burn today. I guess I like my new HRM....500 yesterday and more today!
I'm also sore in a good way from that M&F workout ....even my abs and they never get sore. I can't decide if I should repeat Day 1 tomorrow or do another weighted workout tomorrow?

Good Morning
Tonight I will be doing Drill Max.
Debbie thats ok on the rotation I know I'll just wait for the new workouts to come:)
I will probably get a guinea pig next week. I am going to Pasadena Ca this weekend to visit brother and his fam:)
Take care
Randi

Morning Maniacs! The plan is some kind of full-body weight workout later today. Maybe a bike ride too.

Lora I had knee surgery on both knees (at same time) a few years back. Lateral release and scoping on both. So, I'm always cautious.

I still haven't finished my workout. Spending way to much time on this computer:) I was over at video fitness reading the review of Ripped and Chiseled. I preordered it from Amazon. WOn't be here till the first week in December. I will do Butts and Guts floor work and some claves. Then a shorter stretch. Probably some of Yoga Shatki using the matrix.

Lora, I use a 9# body bar and wear my weighted gloves on that workout. I relly haven't noticed a problem in my back. Did you purchase the two newer Yoga Booty Ballet workouts? I think it was a Masters one with core work and there was another core and yoga one. When I preordered Ripped and Chiseled I also ordered Ana and Ravis quick fix since I did free shipping it won't come till the other dvd comes.

Anne - Nice workout last night! Thanks for the compliment.

Diane Sue - Nice going on your workout! Get to that floorwork now!! :)

Char - Seen your workout from last night! You kicked some ass!

Lora - Great workout and calorie burn! Woo hoo!

Penney - Have a great cardio workout. Have you used the cardio coaches yet?

Hello to everyone else!!

I am finally done. Have been rushing around. I had barely finished and showered when dh called and said he was bringing someone over to pick up something. So I was scrambling to pick things up around here. I did Butts & Guts floor work wearing 5# ankle weights during the ball work and the rest. I also used a 15# dumbbell over hips on the glute raises, I thin did yoga Shatki backbend prep, lunge, and supine poses. I waited to long to go back and do the floorwork. My legs were getting stiff and tight. I didn't expect to spend a couple of hours on the computer LOL I bought some endamame that was frozen. Didn't know I was going to have to cook them and pick them out of the pods for my lunch salad. I still have a bunch to unpod in the refrigerator. Can't they do that with machinery?

Debbie and Anne, thanks for the push:D

Penney, let us know what you decide for cardio.

Charlotte, enjoy the bike ride or hiking.

Lora, have you heard of either of these yoga dvd's? Yoga Wisdome for Neck and tight SHoulders with Allison Nolan or Yoga for health basics and Headache don't know who is doing it. I saw them on Deep discount but couldn't find a review anywhere.

Edited to add: Lora, I found those two dvd's on Amazon. the second one did not have a good review. The first one sounded ok. I don't think I would be able to expect much from it though.

I just got back from hiking. Took Speck along with me. Was so refreshing. Glad I went. Was 46 degrees up in the mountains and 61 here in the valley. After just a few days of in the 90's, I was frrreeezzzinggg. Passed by some elderly asian folks. Looked like they were examining a tree stump for too long with a pole.lol. Maybe know something we don't??? Deer came out while I tried to eat my lunch, but was too cold and nibbled on my spinach leaves during the drive back. Not sure how many miles I went. Was a 3 hour hike. Was better then yoga...really help to clear my mind and I just felt so good being out there. Now I am in the mood for snow. Imagine that. ;-)

Diane Sue - Great job gettin' 'er done!

Char - Awesome on your hike! It's cold here too. I love this weather but it could be a little warmer then it is.

Diane Sue

What is endamame???
Or is it snow peas???
I am starving and have 2 people to go...

I am tasting the new DVD's..
Deb, they are heavy up. They should be right down your alley here..

Any word when Tracy's new ones are coming out??

Char i am with you. I am freezing here.. Had the AC on all week and now the heat.
WTF.. Can't we wean into it..

Diane Sue - I'm laughing....cuz I have all of those DVDs. Truthfully though, I've only done the AM Latte one in the YBB Masters a lot. I like it. It's short (like all YBB's) but I repeat it and make it longer. It's a good recovery day cardio. I have only done Goddess Abs once and Yoga Core a couple of times. I wasn't really doing a lot of yoga when I did Yoga Core, so I can't really judge it. I know Yoga Core got rave reviews at VF though. I also tried Pajama Time a few times before bed and it was okay. Nothing spectacular. I did not try the booty one yet.

As far as the Ravi & Ana one you bought, QuickFixes....I'm a bit nervous. Are you aware how unique Kundalini practices are? I'm not sure you'll like it. You have to be REALLY open minded and willing to do stuff that looks really odd to others. Not to say you're not open minded....but I've heard you mention from time to time that something was a bit "out there" for you....and I'm afraid that you will think that of Kundalini. I know I did at first....but I was so determined to try it because I read that book by Gurumukh "The Eight Human Talents" and it was so interesting and fascinating that I had to try to reap the benefits of Kundalini. I like how it works more directly on the glands, organ meridians, etc. than other types of yoga, but some of the sessions can be very strange. I do get some different sensations when I practice that I like...so I continue to practice. For some reason, some of the postures with breath of fire make me feel good.
I also have that Neck & Shoulder practice and while I keep "wanting" to like it, I have yet to like it yet. I have only tried it about 3 times and it has tons of sun salutations in the beginning and I didn't find it partciularly helpful for my problems, but then I'm much more severe than you.

I have that one you mention for Headaches and Basic Health. I got it at the DDD sale over the Summer. The instructor talks with a thick accent and it makes me a bit nuts....but the practice is slow and relaxing and is supposed to be good for headaches....so I do it kind of often. It is not that long either ....I think it's 45"....so it's easy to fit in.

Hope this helps a bit. I have a small stack of DVDs for back/neck pain. If you want me to go thru them and see which ones I like best, I can. I also have one on the way from Amazon that I recently purchased. I'm in the neverending search for relief of my neck pain/headaches, etc. I've had a migraine for days now!

Diane Sue - forgot to ask your opinion. I am a bit sore from those M&F routines this week and I was planning on doing a regular weight lifting one tomorrow (like you first suggested), but now I'm having second thoughts and thinking I want to do one of the M&F ones tomorrow. Only thing is that I think one focuses more on the shoulders, chest and tri's and the other focus on biceps and back. If I did a third one, that would make me uneven, right??? Don't really want to do it 4 times this week. Any comments? sugesstions?
