Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thurs June 28

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Did arms/shoulders and ab ripperx yesterday. Went down in weights. Just feeling really tired from not enough sleep. I am just so wired when I get home at night that I can't fall asleep and still waking up my same time. Doing yoga today.

I ended up doing Prevention's Fight Cellulite Fast - Interval Cardio workout. I repeated the last couple segments to make it longer. It also has a 15 minute leg workout on it - so I did only the parts of that workout that were different than traditional squats and lunges (since I'm doing those in Jillian's circuits). Cardio and brief leg segment was 1 hour and 19 minutes and I burned 552 calories. I had an excellent cardio workout. Really pushed the intervals and got my HR up to 163. I then did Rapid Results Pilates - Waist Slimmer Ab segment with my Pilates Ring and Yoga for Urban Living 35" Morning Quickie routine.

Toasty - you mean you get wound up from working and you're having a hard time adjusting? If so, I know the feeling. I get wound up from certain things and can't calm down either. I hope the yoga helps. Lunar update tomorrow and there's supposed to be some surprise per Beth. None of my decants have been selling on the Fourm lately........thus the update on the horizon (at least I hope that's what it's from).

Diane Sue - I can't get my plantar fasciitis to calm down ever since all of that walking in Vegas back in April. I have also been wearing my Saucony running shoes for all aerobics and I'm not sure if that's adding to the problem. I was just wondering if you ever went to the foot doctor for your PF and if so, what did he do? Someone over at VF said you shouldn't stay away from the Podiatrist, as they did and then they ended up needing surgery for it. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Since I'm low on funds, I ordered a pair of New Balance cross trainers online (couldn't afford my Saucony's). I was going to try wearing those for my cardio and if my problem doesn't get better, do you think I should go to a Podiatrist or have you heard of any inserts that I could buy that might help? I'm confused and don't know what to do. Someone said Superfeet Green Inserts are good. I just started wearing my Birkenstock sandals around the house for added arch support too.

Brooklyn is such a wild kitty. I never had a cat jump at the ceiling fans before....but she goes crazy when the ceiling fan is on upstairs. She goes up on the bed and tries to bat it and she got too close for comfort (almost hit it with her paw). Now I can't leave the ceiling fan upstairs!! cuz I don't want her getting hurt.

Anyone hear of Superfeet Green Inserts? They are supposed to be good for plantar fasciitis and other foot problems.

Have great workouts ladies. I've got to eat breakfast, do my neck stretches and then I'm going grocery shopping.

This morning was back and biceps. I added calves and abs because it only took me a 1/2 hour to do back and bi's.

Back
Decline pullovers: 42# - 12/12/12/10 (up 2#)
Flat pullovers: 35# - 15/13/15/15

Biceps
Concentration Curls: 27# 12/12/10 (up 2#)
Incline Dumbbell Curls: 17's 15/15/15 (up 2#)

Calf work from GS Legs

Ab work from LIC

Broke another blood vessel in my left hand, this time my index finger. WTH?? I don't get why this is happening.

Hope you all have a great workout!

Lora, I have never been to a podiatrist. I just visited my family doctor. She has it too and exercises. She did not tell me to stop but said I was doing what I need to do. If mine flares up I have to pretty much stop running on the treadmill and a lot of the plyo type workouts. I wear a gel insert that has a good arch on it and does not go all the way to the toes. They help a lot. I got them at Target. Birkenstock has inserts that I have looked at but they are pretty expensive. I have three pair of Birkenstock Footprints and Tatanami shoes that help. For me stretching it before and after workouts really helps. If it is bothering me I roll a frozen water bottle with my foot several times a day. Did you ever get one of the night splints? There are a variety of them at www.footsmart.com. It helps if I get new shoes. I am bad about that but it does make a difference.

Good Morning Everyone,

Last night I posted my workout which was shoulders my weakest body part, and I'm feeling it today! Good thing though. I did legs on Monday and I still have DOMS kinda glad about that too. Tonight will be a brisk 2/3 mile walk at the park with my grandson!

Last night I ate a Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich, and water. This morning so far I've had Oatmeal, instant of course but low sugar. I guess that helps some.

Don't know what I'll eat for my break, I bought some trail mix, so may have a little of that.

Hope you all have great workouts!
:)

Dallys,

I just checked out her pics. Suz you do look GREAT! What inspiraton! So, you're doing P90X also? Maybe I need to check into that series.

Way to go! :)

Good morning!

This morning I rode with my pregnant friend. She's only about 8 weeks along and it was windy, so it was a decent workout (meaning when it's windy I always get a harder workout than the people I'm riding with - darn asthma!). I rode for an hour and 15 minutes and about 40 of that was riding to meet her and then riding back home after we split up. Mostly she just has to slow down on the hills b/c that's when her HR gets too high.

Dallys - Thanks. You're so funny!

Lora - That's scary about Brooklyn. I've had dogs be scared of them before but never that!

Char - How's Tony? I miss him. I need to do Ab Ripper X again. I've been neglecting my abs - and Tony.

Debbie - That is really weird. I wonder what is going on? Maybe you should post a question on bodybuilder.com or something?

Sandy - You are off to a fantastic start! Keep it up. Nope, my results aren't from P90X I wouldn't say. I did take after pics from that but they weren't pretty. Not enough cardio for me. Well, actually I would say it was more my eating. If I ate better I would have had better results. You know what they say - something like 80% of it is what you put in your mouth. That being said I LOVED P90X and will do it again. I'll just add in more cardio and I will eat better.

I Downloaded a couple of iTrain workouts so did I Tread 19 tread and tush 45 minutes and went on to do 5 miles. For the walking lunges I just slowed down the treadmill and did lunges on it elevated. Then I did I train Stretch#19This was yoga, core, some leg work on the floor and a stretch.1 hr and 7 minutes. Oh, almost forgot, before I did the stretch workout I did 3 sets of 15 85#barbell rollouts on knees, hanging knee raises with 10# med ball, and 25# wood chops on the stability ball:)

Lora, yes I wear Saucony crosstrainers for my cardio. And running shoes for the treadmill.

Suz - Don't you have to be referred to a sports doctor by your physician?

Lora - I forgot to thank you for the song title by Incubus. I tried all day yesterday to download it and for some reason I couldn't.

Lora,

Not having a hard time at all adjusting. Adjusting quite naturally and taking over. Will be manager soon. lol. It is quite nice working there. No problems. Everyone gets along great! Just wide awake when I get home at night. Restless. BTW, thanks for update on bpal. Looking forward to it. Gave the girls some samples at work.

Brooklyn sounds like such a sweetie. I wish hubby would let me have a few more cats.

Doing yoga at 8pm. lol. Long day.

Suz,

Wow, some nice pictures you got there. You really have been holding out on us maniacs!!! I see what 62.5 miles and such has done to your bootie and back of legs. Very impressive. It is very hard to get that kind of definition back there. It shows you are working extremely hard. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really impressed at Suz's backside progress so I am thinking here.....

Should I substitute plyo x for lets say 40 mile rides, etc. Now if I do, I lose upperbody mass which has taken me forever and a day to get to where I am. I really want the backside definition like Suz has so I am lost here. Any suggestions? I can't seem to get that "cut" in the butt like Suz has. Is it the bike rides more that help or the weights? I know I should know the answer by now, but I am really trying to figure out the right mixture to get that.

Debbie, I was referred to a sports doctor when I had a knee injury from an accident. I think it depends on what type of insurance that you have. It took a lot of time because I was referred to a sports doctor who then referred me to another doctor for the surgury. Each one had a waiting period for the insurance to approve the treatment. This was an HMO. PPO you should be able to just go in to whoever you want. At least this is my experience. I have had only one family dr that was into fitness. He loved Body Pump and offered incentives for his employees to go to a gym or workout. Both of my daughters and dil worked for him. He did not take our hmo insurance so had to change.
