Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did WSFL cardio. I used the TM for w/u and then I did the 6 rounds of 60/120 intervals on the Ellipitical. Got my HR up to 165 only. I shortened the recovery periods. I then did the 5 min low intensity on the bike and then I put my weight vest on and did the bike for the next 10 minutes (surprisingly, even on the bike with the vest...the intensity seemed higher). My HR hovered at around 84-87% of max. I then finished the last part punching and kicking the heavy bag. Workout with cooldown and stretch was 63" and I burned 569 calories.

I also did PY4H 2 Surf Edition - Twisted Sister premix 47". This felt too tough. I've become a real power yoga wimp lately. Those super fast sun sal's and all of that standing and balancing on one leg stuff after a tough workout.

Have great workouts everyone. We're taking my niece to see a movie as a going away present. She's moving to Baltimore to live with her "loser" boyfriend. We're not happy about it.

Good Mornning, today is my rest day. I have some errands to run. No real plans for the day. I still need to work on my next rotation. I wanted to do some supersets in it. I have Kelly Coffey's 30 minutes to fitness coming from Advanced Workouts so I will porbably fit it n. Maybe I will wait a week for doing the super sets or work them in as total body workouts with Kelly's. I did want to move my weights up some again.

Lora, nice workout.

Morning Maniacs! Getting ready to go back to watch the NMTBS (National Mountain bike Series) today. It'll be the short track races. Yesterday was the Cross Country races. It's all amazing to watch and these athletes are amazing! We met a 75 yr. old man that has run 30 marathons, done 3 triathlons, 10 years of road bike racing, and now he's a mountain biker! Goes to show that you can always challenge yourself no matter what your age! He was such a nice guy and was so youthful acting. We hung out and talked with him (sitting in the dirt in the shade) throughout the whole Pro-Men's cross country competition.:)

Anne- YEAH!!!!!!!! I bet you are getting so excited for your new Salon! They got ALOT done in a short time!

Diane Sue- Getting back to your question the other day about setting your HRM zones. I set my zone at 70%-90% (I think 65%-85% is common too). So, set in your maximum hr. and your resting hr(if your HM allows that, mine does not). Then, find your 70% number and set it as the low, and your 90% number as the high. Kind of like couch Seans # 2-3 zones. I estimate my Max hr as 180 (although I've never gone over 175, I'm sure if a bear was chasing me, it would go higher!) and my chart in my hrm instruction book says my 70% and 90% zones are 126 and 161. Hope that makes sense.

Lora- Sorry to hear about your niece moving in with the loser boyfriend.:( Girls can be some stupid sometimes.

Anne, I bet you are so exited watching it come together. I am happy for you. You have worked a long time for this:D Your picture of your grandson is cute. Reminds me of when we had a backhoe in our yard and my grandson wanted to know if he could drive it :0 Going to the beach sounds nice.

Dallys, I will have to check out the settings on my hr monitor. I know mine is different if I just put it on automatic. I can go to manual but have opted for the own zone setting which goes by my hr test when I workout. I believe it allows 3 work zones for my zone to work for as light, medium, and hard.

Hello Maniacs,

Back from vacation and ready to get back into my routine. Finished your summer rotation, Debbie, before I left. Any suggestions from anyone what to start for this month? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
