Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Sunday Feb 18

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Gilad's Elite Forces Workout followed by a portion of Tae Bo Amped Turbo Charged Fat Burner & the part of Hi/Lo Gliding Intervals with Marcus Prolo......total of 75 minutes w/ w/u & c/d and burned 514 calories. I did most of these on the Rebounder to modify for my foot and found that they actually all worked quite well on the Rebounder! I loved doing Amped on the Rebounder....really amped it up ...especially listening to Buckcherry! I also did 75" of Eion Finn's Power Yoga.

Diane Sue -I'll have to try that Apple/Walnut salad. It sounds good. Could you tell me how you stretch your foot for PF? Also, you did say that there is no need to rest it, as long as you ice it and stretch it, correct? Have you found a particularly good pair of athletic shoes to keep it from flaring up? I'm wondering if I need to go to the foot doctor this week. I iced my foot yesterday (but no stretches) and this morning...it felt slightly better, but when I started doing yoga, it started spasming like crazy! Therefore, I think it needs stretched, as I know I have arthritis in my feet. The one thing that concerns me a bit is that my previous stress fracture site has been hurting ...but not like it's broken....maybe from the weather?? I'm wondering if it's a slight sign of overtraining?

Toasty - How was the dinner with the DH?

Dallys - Did you end up going on the bike ride?

Hi to everyone that follows......off to do my normal Sunday thing.....job search, etc!

Morning ladies. Internet was down for a while at work yesterday and i was really buisy, then grandson at night. I never got on.
Yesterday was a rest day. I had too much to do.Work was insane.

Today i am going to start a 1 body part per day. I am going for GS TRI(can't do chest yet) then cardio daily. I can't jump yet, so i am sticking to the treadmill for now. I can get a good workout elevating .
Deb, you did how many 1 arm push ups?????You are my here

Char, his dad is probably getting up there in age and you only have 1 dad. Grin and bear it. I am sure the DH loves you, just feels like he has to do this for dad. Dad would do it for him.
Have a great dinner.

Dallys, you are not going to ride down rocks are you?Do you have football paddig? Oh, and the dog is huge. Don't need any mace when you run with that one....He probabbly is as big as you on 2 legs. LOL...

Suz, where is your sweet butt? How ya been?

Randi, did you have fun?

Meaggy, got a tan yet?

Diane Sue, did you try arbys turkey bacon, ranch wrap. I loose the bacon and the ranch and use my own. It is on a whole wheat wrap and really really good.

I am off to have some more coffee and going to try to fit in the workout. Then off to the supply house. Need some color and a few things.

Later ladies.

Good Morning, today is a rest day for me. I am going to try and get some things done around here that I keep putting off. I might do some yoga later.

Lora check out this website. It has some good information and shows some pictures of stretches. They tell you to stretch it out when you wake up in the morning. When it was really painful before I did take a couple of days off of cardio and iced and stretched alot. Then I kept the cardio less impact. The doctor suggested new shoes and heel cups in my shoes.

Anne, yes I have tried the wrap sandwich at Arbys. Didn't think to have them leave off the ranch and bacon. LOL. I need to remember that next time. Most of the time I just get salads when I go to the fast food places.

Good morning!

It's been a crazy few days! I took off Thursday, Friday and tomorrow w/DH. He had that FBI orientation lunch in Denver on Thursday and they like the wifies to go. :) Then we've been car shopping. Now I think we're finished for a bit. Got a deposit on one that just got off the ship yesterday. But it's refundable, so we'll see.

Sounds like you've all been busy with your workouts! It's interesting not having a rotation. I'd never had one before. I like being back to choosing my own workouts. But at times it's easier not to have to think! It's supposed to be 50 today and if it warms up before the wind arrives I'll try to ride outside. But the wind is coming, so it will be tricky!

Storm - You're rockin' with those workouts! Can you give me the secret handshake so I can peek at your surgery pics? I tried but no go. You have my e-mail but if you need it again let me know. I'm betting you're looking HOT!!!

Dallys - Have you tried Osteo Bi-Flex? I SWEAR that stuff works better than all of the other glucosamine/chondroitin stuff out there. My mom had knee replacement on one knee and needs it on the other but started taking this stuff and was able to finally get a good night's sleep after about a week. I had heard great things like this from other people so I tried it and it really does make a difference for my bursitis in my hip. I buy it at Sam's so I bet you could get it at Costco. Or Wal-Mart. :)

Well, I hope you lovely ladies have a fantabulous day! I'm gonna try to be more regular around here. It certainly keeps me motivated. BTW, I plan on doing a 10 week super duper clean eating, monster crazy workout plan when DH is gone. I will have no temptations. :) I will fly out there for one long weekend, but other than that, it will be clean city! I hope to rid my body of all the crap cravings. Yay!

Had a pretty good workout considering I feel like crap today. Ate way too much junk food yesterday, I gotta stop doing that on Saturday's. I was doing good there for a while and then stuff comes up and I just figure, what the heck. Then I pay for it the next day. Aunt Flo paid a visit too, so I'm dealing with that as well.

Anyways, had a slight migraine yesterday and I still feel like I'm fighting it this morning. Glad I have no plans for the day.

Workout was back and biceps, 3 sets/8-10 reps with 2 minutes rest. Suppose to be isolation moves with cable machines so I did my best with using dumbbells. This is what I did:

Back:
Close Grip Overhand Pullups: 6/5/5 (back down to 6 again! ARRRG!)
T-Bar Rows: 60# 3 sets/9 reps
Pullovers: 35# 2 sets/10 reps; 1 set/9 reps
T-Back Squeeze w/purple Band: 3 sets/16 reps

Biceps:
Incline Alternating DB Curls: 25's 1 set/10 reps; 2 sets/8 reps (first time using 25's for this exercise!)
Concentration Curls: 30# 1 set/4 reps (wasn't happenin'!)
20# 2 sets/10 reps
Reverse Wrist Curls: 12's 3 sets/10 reps

Workout was just at an hour. I'm only a little sore from yesterday's workout. I'm surprised, I really thought I'd be more sore. :(

FROM YESTERDAY'S POSTS:
Lora - I don't miss using DVD's much. I like working out to my own music and doing the exercises I want to do. I'm really enjoying this rotation from M&F. I want to see the movie you went to see. My dh and I seen Ghost Rider. Excellent movie!

Charlotte - I'm sorry about all the stuff with your FIL. I hope it all settles down now that he's gone. And you didn't read my entire post, I did ASSISTED one-arm pushups, not full one-arm pushups. I will get there, though!

Diane Sue - Thanks for telling me which mag the rotation you are doing was in. I want to check it out. McDonald's SUCK! :)

Hope you all have great workouts!

Deb - if you're a romantic at heart, you should think that movie is cute. I'm glad to hear Ghost Rider was good....as that's next on the movie agenda.

Diane Sue - thanks for the info on the PF. Off to check it out now, as I haven't a clue how to stretch it! (thanks very much....great article -- I did the stretches).

Has anyone here seen this infomercial?

http://www.swatworkout.com/index.html

I'm very curious about these. The website, etc....sort of ...just very slightly reminds me of a Beachbody type copy?

Well, it is snowing again. I have to go to Greensburg. Need a few jog bras and supplies for work.
I did GS tri, no dips, they pull and i used my old weight and i think tomorrow i am going to pay. Than i did 40 min Performance 1 program and ran at 5mph , but not faster.1 minute sprints. I had to hold the jewls. It is a site. Thank god i am at home, not a gym.

Well, bath time. Then Gson wants to go Bye byye with me.
Later

Morning Maniacs! We decided not to go to Moab. But, Dh is driving up to the foothills by our house to see how muddy it is. So we may end up going for a ride up there. If not, we'll just ride on the roads.

Suz- Maybe I'll try that Osteo Bi-Flex. I used to take glucosamine but stopped for some reason. I know it helped. I must'nt be getting enough good food in me, or I'm not stretching enough or something, can't figure it all out. I even pulled my neck this morning pulling my shirt on! WHF?

Anne- Slick Rock in Moab is 12 miles of one big rock! No dirt. It's fun! But kinda weird at the same time. You did good on your workout.:)

Debbie- Your workout was good. You'll be back to your 10 (was it?) pullups next time I'm sure.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all are haveing a great 3 day weekend.:)

Afternoon Maniacs!!!

This morning I did the yoga and had no interruptions. Was nice. Still having a time with this neck/shoulder and back issue, but yoga seemed to help it some.

Massage was nice yesterday and dinner was good too. We are going to the movie to see Ghost Rider in a little bit. Gonna make some Oatmeal Vanilla Protein Chocolate Chip cookies..sin free when I get back from movies.

Anne,

I know.

Debbie,

That is still tough though no matter. When I read your doing purple band for back squeeze, it makes me sore. Great workout today!

Suz,

Was wondering where you been.

Dh wants to go

Charlotte~~

Good Morning
Yesterday I ended up doing Butts and Guts. I am so sore today thank god it's my rest day today:) Went out dancing last night at the VooDoo Lounge it was a blast! Going to go with mom and SIL to get my neices 1st birthday pictures taken.
Have a great day everyone!

Deb & Toasty - We ended up going to Ghost Rider today. Wow....I loved that movie! I love those kind of flicks....reminded me of a wild Charmed episode. Whoever did casting and special effects did an excellent job. Great Recommendation Deb!! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Did they show the previews for that double feature of the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez flick with Rose McGowan at the theatre?? That looks wild.

Lora - I know, I loved it too. I love Marvel Comics. Hey, have you seen the preview of "The Invisible"? Its where that kid gets beat up and left for dead, yet he's roaming the school and no one can see him? They've been previewing that forever and it said it was "coming soon" and the movie we watched last night said "January". I wonder what the hold up is on that movie, it looks really good.

I ended up running two miles on my treadmill, then I did Yoga Shatki shoulder openers, supine poses, and inversions, Stretch Max with the band.

Charlotte, when my neck & shoulders hurt I like to do Stretch X or at least the portion that covers upper body. Loosens things up:) Glad you had a nice time yesterday.

Yes, Ghost Rider was da bomb!! Must see! Excellent movie like Lora said.

Diane Sue,

Yes, I agree. I hope I don't stiffen up too much during the night again. I do feel much better. I am way off track with my workouts. Will do legs/back/ab ripper tomorrow. You had a nice workout yourself as always!

Charlotte~~

Dallys, please do not fall on your face. Hey is the close encounters mountain out there close to you???

Suz, any ideas for some good jogging sports bras. I tried to loom today. Grandson no cooperate. I carried him out of the mall. No shoppin. I was mad at him. I planned on a little shoppin , then toys r us with him, then takin him to McDonalds to play. Well, it was leave mall in snowy blizzard and home. I need to go back alone.
It was nice to hear from your sweet butt....

Char, it will be fine.Go get a massage or go see a reflexologist and have your feet done. it is awesome..

Diane Sue, got me beat today.

Randi, is it voodooooo night again. I almost went out last night. DH was being an ahole. If Gson wasn't here i would have left and went out.

Deb - No...didn't see that preview. I don't think?? Have you seen the preview for Premonition with Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahahon? I love Julian....he's the dude from Charmed and Nip/Tuck. Looks good. Did you watch GH?

Toasty - so the massage didn't help your neck? I thought you'd agree with me on that movie. It rocked. Loved the Devil's son....I need to see who that was....as he did an excellent job.

Diane Sue - I'll have to try that P90X STretch....don't think I ever really did that.

Char, if you had a deep tissue massage, it can hurt more at 1st befre it gets better.
Hey i just made a peanutbutter pie/w/fatfree cream cheese and coolwhip and splenda. Looks really good. I did brown some vanilla wafers for the crust.
TDH will eat it all...

Anne,

Dh set me up for the swiss massage...light massage. No big deal, but very nice and relaxing. I got to check my cookies now. I put in 2 heaps of vanilla caramel protein powder. I can eat these and not feel guilty!!! lol. Sounds like you got some good stuff to eat too. Lets have a party!!!!!! Yeah, another one!!!

Charlotte - I just MUST have that cookie recipe - please??? It sounds yummy!

Storm - My very first ever running bra was the Jogbra. I LOVED that thing and it lasted for years until my very first Pit Bull got ahold of it when he was a puppy. It was the best though. I would definitely do a search for them and see what you come up with. They really hold you in tight but so worth it. I guess you need that now, huh? :)
