Morning Maniacs-

I really don't want to take a rest day today....but due to the foot issue, I'm only going to do an Xflowsion and consider it a rest day. I'll be back later. If I didn't have this foot problem, I wouldn't take a rest day 'till vacation -- cuz then I'll only be walking for 5 days!!

Be back later.

I ended up doing Xflowsion - Live In Hollywood. Workout was 1 hour 20 minutes and I burned 380 calories. It actually felt really good and I enjoyed it. I modified the jumping and running parts by putting my boot on and jumping on the rebounder (and the DH walked thru the room and yelled at me!). The kickbox segments were low impact enough to accomodate my foot also.

I'm leaning towards not starting that Afterburn rotation by Cosgrove yet. I think I'm going to continue with my Jillian circuits for now since she works all muscles. Maybe when Dallys comes back she can give me some insight into Cosgrove's way of thinking, as I know she did NROL rotations for a while.

Have great rest days or workouts everyone. We're going to that Chuck & Larry movie later. I hope it's funny.

Good morning!

Yesterday I took a rest day. I didn't plan to but it just worked out that way. We're supposed to go on the group ride this morning at 8 so that should be fun. I imagine we'll go 40 miles or so. My stomach has been so messed up this week so I hope it behaves on the ride. I thought it was a lactose issue but I haven't had any lactose all week (since that cottage cheese and yogurt) and I totally switched to soy milk a few months ago from the lactose free milk. Then I thought it was too much fruit. Cut way back on that. I've had a screwed up stomach since high school. DH wants me to go get it checked out but I don't want them to stick a scope down my throat when I'm gagging. And I hear when you have stomach problems they do that. I'm not afraid of the colonoscopy b/c I've already had that since my grandfather had colon cancer and they knock you out (my doctor made me have it at 40), but the gagging thing - SCARED TO DEATH OF THAT!

Okay, whining session over. Happy workouts and rest days to all. We're going to the Macaroni Sin Palace after our ride. Yay!!!

Good Morning, today will be a Total body workout with lighter weights and stretching or Yoga. I might do X Stretch. I really like that one.

Suz, I have stomach problems too. I take Nexium all of the time for Acid reflux. My doctor wanted to double the dose but our insurance would not pay. I have a tendency to eat to large of meals and that causes a lot of problems too. I hope you enjoy your ride today.

No workout for me today or tomorrow. :)

Suz - I so know what you mean. I HATE gagging and that is just scary that they have to test you that way. I wonder what's going on with your stomach? That has to suck.

Have great workouts everyone!

Hi Suz,

I was reading about your stomach troubles. I've got them too, and have had since a very young age. I've had everything done you can think of. Just to put you at ease, when they do the endoscopy the procedure with the light going down your throat, they do sedate you these days and you don't feel a thing, you don't know you're gagging if you do. I would rather have this done any day than the colonoscopy, the prep is the most awful thing I've ever had to do, I have had 2 and will go for my 3rd in October. I have ulcerative colitis, so I have to have the colonoscopy every two years now. Go get the endoscopy, believe me if I can do it you can. I have a bad gag reflex, but they do sedate you. Hope this helps relieve your fear and you go get checked out. :)

By the way I've just finished up my 3 weeks of slow and heavy. I'm going to start the pure strength now and ad lots of cardio, my knee is feeling much better these days, so I think it's time to pull the step out again and get to steppin!

Have a great day!

Suz - I just wanted to say that I have had 3 gastroscopies (down the throat) and 1 colonoscopy (the other one!!LOL). I cannot be sedated with that medication. When I had my colonoscopy, they gave me enough medicine for a 250 pound man and I was kicking and screaming. I begged for more medicine and told the doctor "you promised you'd knock me out" ....to which he replied "if I give you any more, your heart will stop!". I am such a hyper person and I can't relax.....so thus the reason I watched the screen while they did it and acted like a freakin' idiot cuz I was under the influence of drugs.....just not out of it. Anyway, what I wanted to say.....is even that I'm aware of whats going on when I've had all of my tests.....the colonoscopy is MUCH Worse and hurt a lot more than the gastroscopy (down the throat). They sprayed my throat with something and I remember them telling me to swallow, swallow, swallow, swallow....but I don't remember feeling any where NEAR the discomfort I felt with my colonoscopy......so don't be scared. I'm sure you're probably not as hyper as me and the drugs will probably work on you. I also take Nexium for my stomach and Librax for Irritable Bowel Syndrome which I've had since I was a teenager. Maybe you have IBS?? Do you get a lot of cramping and stomach pain with frequency (if you know what I mean)? Don't want to get too graphic here. Feel free to PM me and I can explain a bit about IBS. I used to work for a colon and rectal surgeon, have had IBS almost my entire life......so I know a little bit about it....although all of that being said.....symptoms can vary from person to person.

I finished my workout. I started with Kimberly Spreen Kickbox Bootcamp no stretch, then I did Amy Bento's Cardio Step Pump no w/up, finished with P90X stretch. I forgot how much I like that stretch workout. Such a variety of stretching with yoga too. I love the neck stretches and he even gets down into wrists, ankles and calves. I need to use it more even if I have to split it up.

Hi ladies - It's quiet around here today. I just wanted to report back that the movie was pretty funny. I enjoyed it. It was with Adam Sandler and Jessica Beil. Wow.....that little dudette has quite a hot bod on her. My DH enjoyed seeing her in her panties!! LOL.

Randi - is your cold better?

Hello Ladies!

The ride today was great. No wind! I was the only girl in the fast group. We started out really slow b/c there were some slow people with our big group, but finally we split up and I went with the fast group. It was hard but it was fun. I finally got dropped after we did a paceline for about 5 miles (that was really fun and really fast) and then they all decided to race to the interstate. I couldn't keep up. DH finally waited for me. He didn't have to but he did. They would have eventually waited at the stop sign. He caught me back up by letting me ride his wheel. Awww... We only went 31 miles b/c we stopped and waited a few times in the beginning for the slow people (some out-of-towners who are here for Cheyenne Frontier Days). Our average speed was 18.4. We were out for 2 hours but actual time "moving" was only 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Debbie - Have a great weekend off! I don't know what's wrong with my stomach but I'm tired of it!

Diane Sue - That's a bummer about your insurance. That makes me angry with as much as we pay in premiums. I was tested for acid reflux (as part of my asthma testing - go figure) and don't have that thank goodness. I never would have figured you for large meals. :)

Sandy - Thank you! That really does make me feel A LOT better. That's a lot of the reason I've never done anything about it. But I'm getting everything else taken care of, I might as well get this taken care of too. I'll be a new person. :p You're right about the prep for the colonoscopy. Horrid! Way worse than the day of the procedure if you ask me.

Lora - That is the worst story I've heard! I'll PM you.

Went shopping for some groceries. Started working on my scrapbook. I made a salad that was in Oxygen Aug 2006 with greens, blueberries chicken and almonds. I bought Walnut creek fat free Balsamic vinegrette for it. It was yummy. I did not add the chicken because I felt a little lazy:) DH came home and I had a SW chicken salad from Macdonalds with half the dressing.

Suz, sounds like you had a good ride. My large meals are in volume:) large salads, whole bags of veggies. Not good for acid reflux. Bend over to pick up a barbell and everything comes up in your throat. I continually remind myself to keep the meals small. I am much better off if I keep the meals smaller and eat more often. Feel pretty good then, as long as I omit too much coffee and certain foods. Pizza is a killer and I love the stuff. Usually order everyone pizza and I get salad.
