Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Saturday July 14

Morning Maniacs -

I think I'm going to do some lite cardio as a recovery type of workout and some yoga. I'll be back later.
 
Hey ladies..
Are we all having a good week. I am calling this past week a rest week. Too much working...10 hr days are killing me..
Start over on Sunday..
I posted some vaca pics..
Char, my big butt is in a suit. Maybe next year i will finally be where i want.. getting better every year..

I have another long day and a grad party after work.
Just wanted to check in and say hi..
This week i am soft core..
 
I ended up doing Janis Saffel's Tai Chi Balanced workout followed by Yoga for Urban Living with Hemalaya Behl. Not sure how many calories I burned, as my HRM's battery went dead during my warm up. The workout was not very intense at all though.....sort of too slow for me.......but since I'm sick I figured it's okay to rest a bit.

Diane Sue - no wonder it was pure torture resisting that stuff last night. TTOTM came early today......now it makes sense. I usually absolutely cannot turn that stuff down the day before.

Have great workouts or rest days everyone. I'll be around for a bit. I have to call Buckle today to set up my interview. The Manager was on vacation last week.
 
Morning!

DH got home from the SWAT call last night and worked on his new bike so that we could ride this morning. He was home for a few hours and we went to bed. He's the staff on call this week so gets calls if there are any officers injured, any big shootings, any murders, etc. Phone rings at midnight. They think there's a drive by shooting at Old Chicago. Kills a woman in the band. What? We don't have drive by shootings here. Now, LA where I'm from - every day. But here? Back to sleep.

Twenty minutes later phone rings again. The woman's husband is a sniper in the army. Clean shot to the temple. Can't find the guy. Going through divorce. Need SWAT team. My DH is a sniper. Figure when they find him could be shoot out with police. Come on in.

5:30am - My DH walks through the door. Can't find the guy. Thinks he may have shot himself but not sure. Could be long weekend around here. Woman was only 41.

Oh - so for my workout. :p It's only 6:15 so maybe I'll try to go back to sleep for a bit (haha) and then I think I'll do either Pyramid Upper Body or maybe upper body from ME. DH said that we'll ride later tonight. He's going to try to sleep for a few hours and then we have to help his mom move which should be at noon or 1. Yup, a really fun weekend for him! But we only have to move the stuff out and then she has to take it to Colorado and since he won't be able to leave the state now b/c of all this, we're off the hook for that part. Hopefully he won't get called out at move time b/c then it will be his brother, his mom, my sister and me trying to move a washer and dryer up from the basement!!!

Good Morning, I am not sure what I am going to do. I was thinking maybe a circuit just to get in some of everything. Tomorrow is my rest day. I think I will be helping dh at work today so need to get done and out the door.

Just finished coremax 2 and GS shoulders and MM shoulders. Going to go take a nap b/4 I have to go to work still not feeling all that great but a little better.

Did cardio coach 6 w/Candace yesterday...ggggiiirrrlllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!! Killer workout for me. Not tough when it comes to cardio like some of the women here. Got my heartrate up pretty darn high. Higher then I thought I could and I was starving at work. Girls laughing at me cuz they know I won't eat the food there. Called dd to stop at another restaurant to get me a carrington chicken sandwich...she didn't want to. Ugh. Got a $92 tip last night..guy forgot his money. lol. Didn't keep it though. He forgot..obviously. He will be back. Girl comes thru drive thru in just bra. lmao! You never know what to expect.

MOrning Maniacs! Last day at home before vacation! Thinking of doing something like ME today. Need some good muscle work to last me a week with no weights.

Suz - wow...what a job your DH has. Exciting for him, but scary for you, I'm sure. I don't live in a real big city and we have drive by shootings on the bad sides of town all of the time. We have a lot of crime in our city.

Deb - Actually, I spelled Wes Scanlon's name wrong the other day....it's actually Wes Scantlin. Have you ever heard the first album with Blurry and that other popular song on it...can't think of the name. Their best album is the first one.

Randi - sorry you aren't feeling well. Do you have this stupid summer cold that's going around that me and my DH have??
 
This morning is Week 6 of Push/Pull. Worked Chest, Shoulders and Tri's. Had a pretty good workout. Increased in weights with most exercises. 2 minute rest between everything:

Chest
Incline Barbell Press: 85# - 2 sets/10 reps - Warmup
Incline Barbell Press: 100# - 3 sets/6 reps (up 5#)
Dumbbell Press: 42's - 3 sets/8 reps (up 2#)
Decline Pushups Rambo Style: 20/15/15 (last week did 3/15)
***Notes: Excellent pump with this. My tank got really tight.

Shoulders
Arnold Press: 30's - 1 sets/6 reps; 27's - 2 sets/6 reps
Barbell Press: 55# - 3 sets/8 reps
***Notes: Was determined to do 30# presses. Got sloppy with the last few reps so dropped back down to 27's.

Triceps
Skull Crushers: 55# - 3 sets/8 reps (up 5#)
Weighted Dips: 80# - 10/10/11 reps (up 5#)
***Notes: LOVE skull crushers. Would like to get to 60# for 8 reps by the time this rotation is over. We'll see.

***Notes: Was suppose to work legs today as well. Didn't for a couple reasons: #1 - low back and hammies are still sore from doing deads the other day and my right knee has some pain; #2 - It's way too taxing to add legs to this day, takes too damn long. I'm going to do legs tomorrow and then get on the treadmill for a 1/2 hour. I'm going to be losing 30 min. of cardio which I'm not too happy about, but I'll see what happens.

Worked out to a weird mix of music this morning: Linkin Park, Led Zepplin and Enrique Iglesias. LOL!

Taking my mom to Pizza Hut. YUMMY!!!

Deb- I'm talking about the lead singer from Puddle of Mudd, Wes Scantlin...I gave you the incorrect spelling the other day. Their first album had that song "Control" and "Blurry".. They used to play them on the radio constantly and on MTV. It's when they first got popular. It's a really good album. Toasty has it also.....she'll tell you. It's a great CD for working out. See if you can download Control....and I bet you'd recognize it.

Hi Dallys - that IS an eclectic mix of music. Have you listened to the new Chris Cornell yet? I actually heard another couple songs on the station I listen to. Can't wait to get it.
 
Dallys - How exciting that your vaca is finally here! I love coming home to a clean house. I think I'm gonna do ME today after all. Legs and everything. What the heck! My quads are still sore from that speed ride with DH the other night. I figure it's time to do some weights with them again. :)

Lora - That's scary that you have a lot of crime. That's one of the reasons I was happy to leave LA - to get away from the crime (even though I miss so much about it). I'm glad they "suspect" the husband. After the first call when they had no idea who the shooter was I was a little unnerved (is that the word - and the spelling?).

Debbie - Amazing on the weight. And so smart to drop down when you're sloppy. That's hard to do when you have a goal in your head. What's up with your knee? I love Linkin Park! Have fun at Pizza Hut! I wonder what Charlotte calls that place??

I finished my workout and just finished another yummy salad. I used the recipe for a Greek Style Pita from M&F Hers magazine July/Aug issue. I just used more greens and no bread. Workout was Sharon Twombly's All Body Cardio then the 10 minute cardio and weight segment from Kelly Coffey's Step Box, I finished with Rainbeau Mars Dawn Yoga.

Anne, you are looking great! The beach looks beautiful. I bet it was a lot of fun.

Diane Sue - So did you do that pita without the pita? I saw that recipe and it looks good.

I was just getting ready to do ME this morning and MIL called. We got all the heavy stuff moved (well, DH and BIL did the heavy stuff) and we were eating lunch and DH got called. ANOTHER SWAT call out - on that same shooting from last night. Sheeesh! We were going to come home and ride. But it looks like it's going to rain anyway. So now I will do ME and wait for him to come home. Maybe it will clear up by the time he gets home. I have a feeling he's going to be pretty beat though.

Oh, that couple had a 5 year old little girl. Just breaks my heart. :(
