Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did an easy cardio. I did Patrick Goudeau's Step My Way ...first 2 combos. I repeated them to try and learn them. Got some of it and got lost for a bit too. Workout was 50" and I burned 340 calories. I have enough of these complex step tapes to keep me learning for a LONG time. Don't need any more! This would be a lot of fun after you learn it cuz he does a lot of turns and I find I like turns if I can ever learn them!

I also did Spinervals Flexible Warrior, Energy and Flexibility segments 60".

I only ended up getting sore in my lower body from my Kettlebell workout yesterday. Maybe just a little in my shoulders and upper body. I need to get a harder DVD and hopefully heavier KB's soon. I think the 30 and 35 lbers will probably be around $70-$75 each.

Have great workouts everyone.

Diane Sue - Yes, I guess Vol one with Sarah Lurie is an easier workout...but still, I expected more. I've heard Art of Strength's Newport with Anthony Delugio is supposed to be killer...but it's $50. I'm tempted to buy it though. Meant to mention that I tried Lush's new Hagen-Daz chocolate mint bath bomb recently and it's really nice. I wasn't sure if I'd like it cuz I'm not big on chocolate scents (only eating chocolote LOL) but it was quite minty and pleasant. I wish I had money to place another order!

I slept in this morning. I am getting ready to go do P90X Upper+. This will be the end of week 6 of using P90X. That is one week of the original rotation and 5 of the + ones. Not sure how long I will last though. I am adding in lower and other workouts here and there. I will add some cardio and lower to that workout.

Lora, I would love to order some more Lush stuff and I started an order for Villainess since I am down to my last bar of soap and using the last whipped body cream. I want to many things. I may be having to find a job. I preordered Tracey's Strike Zone and the Walking Strong workout. Still looking for lower impact options. I hope these are good.

Charlotte, I hope you are not getting sick. I keep getting the scratchy throat and then manage to fight it off once in awhile. Wish it would just stay gone. I had two flu shots this season. My grandson got the flu last week and they gave him Tamiflu to help with recovery. I had my first flu shot early so got another. I am thinking maybe this second flu shot has given me a little bit of the scratchy throat. Have fun with Total Body +

Diane Sue,

I think I am fighting it off pretty good. Not really bringing me down much. I managed to do my plyo's yesterday...even very late in the evening. I love sipping my hot teas though..the english side in me. hehe.

Did you ever order any of the Villainess Vanilla Whip stuff? I was wondering how that one was. I got my soaps yesterday. Pearl Diver smells ALOT like Irish Spring..I swear.

Charlotte, the only whips I have used is Sugar Buzz and Jai Mal. I liked Sugar Buz the best. I have tried Pearl Diver as a sample. I wasn't real wild about it myself. I have my eye on Embargo, Crushed Asphyxiate, Silver Violets, and Miss Edith for scents I want to try. One of the samples I have reordered was Jade. I like that one.

Well, after having iTread workouts for over a year, I finally did one. I loved it! Very challenging and I could not keep up with the pace she set for how you are suppose to jog. It was pretty much a constant jog doing sprints and a few inclines and very few rest periods. I had to rest throughout the workout. Great challenge for me and I'm going to love working my way into these workouts.

The narrator is a bit annoying and she keeps saying "heel-toe". Runners/joggers should never run heel-toe so I don't know why she kept saying this throughout the workout. Also, you really have no clue how long an interval is which in a way I don't like. As you all know, I am real OCD about numbers, time, etc. and not knowing made it hard for me to keep going. Other than that, I really did enjoy the workout.

Oh, and my HRM was dead on today. I changed the battery and put med tape on the back. So hopefully that was the problem.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Tomorrow is my rest day.

Linda - Yes, I only use dumbbells for pullovers. The bar hurts my elbows.

Good Morning

I'm getting ready to do coremax then Imax 3. I'm drinking some "fast twitch" to get me pumped up! I kind of had a long night last night Went to a club in downtown Kansas city. Had a lot of fun, had some drinks, but it's always vodka and diet soda (I still watch my calories). I had two drinks only and I feel kind of crappy. So i'm trying to sike myself up!

Afternoon Maniacs,

Today was cardio and I did Imax2 Blast Mania Premix. Would have love to do a CC, but my hamstrings are screaming today, there was no way they were running!

Debbie - Keep us updated on the Itreads, would love to know more as you get use to them. Thanks for the info on the pullovers, I was hoping you were using dumbells!

Great workouts!
Linda

Hi,
Finally have the time to post my workouts. Ran 7 miles this morning (thanks Randi for the Fast Twitch. Helped) My time for the first 1.5 miles (which is how long the trail is at the park I run at) was 7 minutes as opposite to 8-9 minutes which is my normal time right now. Then went to the gym to do total body workout.

For legs:
One legged Hack squat 100 lbs
Knee to ground lunge with tricep pull down combo 40 lbs
Leg extension: 40 lbs. (I'm a wimp with this one)
Wall squat with 25 lbs barbell plate 2 minutes combined with "drving" motion with the plate for shoulders

Upper body:
Explosive posterior cable crossover 40 lbs (shoulders)
One legged bicep curls 20 lbs dumbbell
Cable pop up for the chest 50 lbs

That's all I can think of. Took about 60 min. Did two sets of each.

Lora- Thanks for the link to the shampoo site. I'm real disappointed Bumble and Bumble has that crap in it. I LOVE that stuff. My hair is medium in thickness and quite wavy. I don't have frizzy hair but it can get dry with the wrong shampoo. B&B NEVER made my hair dry. If you get that Art of Strength dvd before me, you have to let me know about it. I really would like that dvd as well but for 50 bucks...Right now, I can't afford it. Also, I do 12-20 reps with the kettlebells. I don't know why she had people doing 8 reps. I don't know of any kb moves where you only do 8 reps. Usually it's 12 or 14 reps. Maybe if you increase your reps, you might feel it more. Now they're saying to do 10 reps to build mass instead of the old school 4,6, 8 reps. Why not try more reps and see how you feel?

Debbie- In my research, you can do heel-toe run. It depends on what you want to work on legwise. I don't recommend that to any one because it hurts like hell but it sure work the legs pretty damn good. I usually run with my heels instead of the middle or the ball of my feet. Everyone's different with their style.

Linda- I used to HATE interval 3 from IMax2 because I'd hop to the side of the room but now I finally have the strength and endurance to stay in the same spot, I kind of like it. LOL

Char- I hope you don't get sick. Have you taken a spoonful of honey? I feel like Mary Poppins saying that but honey helps with my throat a lot. I know it's a lot of sugar but it won't kill you. :p Hope you feel better soon.

Anne- Thanks for telling me the brand. If I can find it, I'll give it a try.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! This weekend's gonna suck. It's cloudy and miserable out. I have not seen the sun in a week. We haven't gotten any snow! WTH? Send some over to me if you guys got any. PLEEEAAAAAAAASE!! :7
