Morning Maniacs -

This morning I should have taken a rest day.....but I ended up doing 55 minutes of Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio Level 1 followed by Last Minute Abs (5 minutes of standing ab work) and then I did Bryan Kest's Power Yoga for Weight Loss 45". After the cardio I burned a total of 370 calories.

If I listened to my body, I probably shouldn't have worked out today with my hurt foot and I'm feeling pretty worked from a tough week, but the way I see it is I'll be doing shorter workouts soon enough when I return to work.

We're going to see that movie Catch & Release today with Jennifer Garner....guess it's a Valentine's movie! The DH is not thrilled. Another reason I did cardio today........I've been wanting chocolate covered strawberries from our chocolate shop and the only time they have them each year is at Valentine's Day!

Have great workouts.

Good Morning, I was never able to get back here yesterday. It was way busy around here. Ended up staying up till 1 am. Yesterday I did Hardcore Ex stopping at the Kickmax portion since I had done it the day before, then I did the M&F Hers rotation adding on abs, I put in the Timesaver dvd and did the step from Step Jump & Pump and the tricep work and str, then Amy Bento's str#1. Today is cardio, abs and some yoga and/or stretching.

Lora, enjoy the movie. Some rest day. :7

Well, I've decided to go with this 12 week rotation I seen in my newest M&F magazine. I like the set up of it and the exercises they chose for it. So I will be doing this. Format looks like this:

Day 1: Chest, Tri's & Abs
Day 2: Back, Bi's & Forearms
Day 3: Cardio
Day 4: Legs
Day 5: Shoulders, Traps & Abs
Day 6: Cardio
Day 7: Rest

I know I need to add in more cardio so I'll probably do a 1/2 hour session with my shoulder workout. I don't like only doing 2 days of cardio right now. We'll see how it goes.

This is what I did today:

3 sets/10-12 reps 2 min. rest (was suppose to be 8-10, I read it wrong!)
Chest:
Barbell Bench Press: 65# 1 set/18 reps - 1 set/16 reps (warmup)
Barbell Bench Press: 85# 1 set/10 reps; 1 set/11 reps; 1 set/10 reps
Dumbell Incline Press: 35's 1 set/12 reps; 2 sets/11 reps
Decline Dumbbell Press: 30's 1 set/12 reps; 32's 1 set/12 reps; 1 set 10 reps

Triceps:
Close Grip Bench Press: 65# 3 sets/10 reps
Dips: 65# 1 set/9 reps; 2 sets/10 reps

Abs:
Hip Lifts w/ Ankle weights - 3 sets/20 reps 1 minute rest between each set
Crunches: 3 sets/20 reps 1 minute rest between each set.

Lora - I want to see that movie, let me know how it is.

Hope you all have great workouts and a great weekend!

Good Morning
I got ME/BC yesterday so I might do BC upper body cardio since my legs are so sore or maybe not do any cardio, I have no idea yet!

Lora great workout today! I saw the clip of hip hop abs the link you sent me it looks like so much fun!
Diane Sue great workout that you did today! Is Timesaver worth getting if you use it as a add on to your workouts?

Take care
RAndi

Morning Maniacs! Not sure what workout I'll do today. I need some cardio, but want to get outside, so I'll probably take a good walk with the dog. Elbow still hurts. My work really aggravates it. It's very frustrating. If it's not feeling better next week, I'll probably go in to get a corizone shot. Those have worked wonders for me.:)

Great workouts everyone!

Later...

Hi, Randi, ME/BC are awesome workouts, you are in for a treat.

Dally, hope your elbow gets better soon. Have a good walk.

Have a great weekend everyone.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Hey Girls!

The Pampered Chef party was fun last night, but I only bought most of the spices they have and some skewers for shiskabob's. Alot of bad food there to eat...chocolate eclairs, cake, etc. Just picked my way thru it all and ate what I knew was best. lol. Won another item and dd went with me so she won a pairing knife. Funny, the lady hosting the party was asking dd if she had any pampered chef stuff..I guess she looks grown enough to have her own place now, but it felt weird to here someone ask her that. Makes me feel old. lol

So last night I got home late as son also had to work late at Movie Theatre so I am tired today. I am not working out. Shame on me, but I am not feeling like it. I did my leg/back/ab ripper workout yesterday with no bonus. Think my legs are getting use to the workout.

Today going to the movies to see Blood and Chocolate with dh on a date night.

Lora,

I just ordered the dark del oil. Can't wait to get it. I just got my imps today, and I DIDN'T GET A C&S notice either..they just came! Wow!
I heard that they ship out the dark del oil fast..should get here in a few days.

Debbie,

Great workout!!!! Talk to ya later

I finished my workout. I did Low Impact Circuit cardio blast no str, then 2 miles on the treadmill, I then did LIC abs, and Butts & Guts stability ball abs wearing my shoe weights and weighted gloves. I did the ball rollouts with a 75# barbell instead and held a dumbbell for some segments, I finished off with Yoga Shatki basic flow.

Randi, I really like having the Timesaver dvd. It loads quick and has the workout blender feature. It is great for cardio add ons or if you want to add a short focus on a body part. You can put all 3 ab segments together and get a 22 minute ab workout as well. Most of the material is repetitive from the others in the series. There are some different moves added to the strength segments.

Debbie, that M&F rotation does look like a good format. Good workout:)

Charlotte, sometimes you just need a break:) I have a bunch of pampered chef stuff. I wouldn't buy their cookwear again. I bought the lifetime guarantee pots and they peeled a stuff stuck just like the lesser priced stuff. I never put them in the dishwasher and cared for them as specified. I think one thing is you just can't get teflon that hot. I have never called them as they say after 2 years you have to contact the manufacturer x( And I would have to go to the hassle of mailing them to them. I also go the cake decorator and the rim cracked the first time I used it. I do like their spices :9

Janie - M&F is Muscle & Fitness. Its the men's magazine.

Charlotte - Have fun with date night, let me know how that movie is.

Diane Sue - You should be getting the magazine soon. I think you'd like this rotation.

Hey Maniacs! I found a great Granola recipe and thought you all might like it. I made it today and it's terrific! Not greasy at all and not to sweet. No junk!

Granola

4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2 cups rolled wheat
1 cup unprocessed oat bran or wheat bran or quick oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup nonfat dry milk
½ teaspoon salt
½ to 1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 to 2 cups slivered almonds
1 – 12 oz. can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix juice concentrate and vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and stir until well mixed. Spread mixture on a large baking sheet. Bake in a 200 degree oven for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until golden and almost dry. For chunky granola, do not stir during baking. When cool, add dried dates, peaches and raisins or any other chopped dried fruit and store in a sealed container.
Yield: 12 cups. 1/3 cup is a serving. 134 cal, 4 grams protein, 3 grams fat.

Diane Sue,

The pans are very expensive...$100 bucks or more. I can go to Wal Mart instead so that is why I just got stuff I know I would use like the spices, etc. You can also get good stoneware elsewhere and much cheaper.

Debbie,

We have a change of plans...going to see Hanibal Rising instead, but will let you know how that is. Worried about the gore, etc. Hubby and I seen the first two so we are curious how this will be. Second movie of Hanibal..Red Dragon..made me feel sick for a few weeks. Really gross. Oh, well. We will find out soon.

I think I might have that M&F mag somewhere. Dh seems to get alot of them. I will look too.

Diane Sue- My elbow is not good. Grooming the dogs is really hard on it, it hurts to squeeze the shampoo bottles. I did a big dog yesterday (I don't do many big dogs anymore) and it was hard. Then this morning while I was cleaning house, I, of coarse banged it into everything...like a stubbed toe. LOL! It is feeling pretty good tonight though. I'm nervous to lift with it. Lateral raises, upright rows, front raises, are what really hurts along with gripping and squeezing things.

Dallys, I pulled a muscle in my thumb area once. It hurt for the longest time. Just picking up groceries or running the vacuum. I still worked out but tried to hold my weights with a thumbless grip. Funny how much we take an area for granted till we injure it. Are you icing it and taking anti inflamitories? I would definitely try not to use it any more than you have to for awhile.
