Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I forced myself to take a rest day. I did Dancin the Chakras - Shake Your Chakras premix and repeated segments to make it 40 minutes and then did Shiva Rea's Fluid Power - Dancing Warrior, Mandala Namaskar I & II, Backbending Vinyasa, Forward bends/twists and shavasana. This usually is my favorite rest day workout....but my DH pretty much ruined it for me.

I woke up with a pretty positive attitude this morning and the first thing out of DH's mouth was him questioning my decision yesterday. There was 1 full time job I could bump in the hospital as a Registrar. The dept is open 7 days a week and 24 hours, so I'd have to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Since I have low seniority, I"m sure I'd get stuck with all of the "crap" hours, holidays, etc. DH & I have always discussed this in the past and we have both agreed that at age 47, I'm not just going to take a job like that - unless my unemployment ran out and I was forced too....but while I'm actively looking and have some form of income, I was supposed to find something dayturn, etc.

So basically, now I"m all messed up in the head and I'm doubting my decision and my positive attitude is shot to heck....especially after he reminded me of the fact that I'll have to take something like that if i'm forced to and have no money coming in (which I already know....but I was trying to be positive and not think that way).

So, needless to say, I really didn't get into my yoga this morning and half way thru, I wanted to go put my Saucony's on and do some kickboxing aerobics to get all of this frustration out of me....but I didn't. So, you know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

I'm sorry to bring everyone down with all of my problems....but I needed to vent. I'm starting to get depressed now. I really don't want to have to collect unemployment and I would love to have a job in 3 weeks, but I'm not sure if that's a realistic goal.

Well....I better get doing the stuff around here that needs done.

Have great workouts or rest days and thanks for listening. I'll be back later.

Sorry, I just noticed that this discussion was more active in another thread. Feel free to ignore my reply since I'm not part of your regular group.

I'm not going to jump in with any workout reports, but wanted to reply to you work quandry. I would be inclined to say what you did was right to bid on that job since you could keep building your senority, keep your benefits and income, and hang on to bump to another job. The reason I say this, is that by now you must be tired of starting all over, and this situation may prove to be temporary. You may want to explain that to you DH. The way I look at it, it's YOUR job, and you have to be happy with your decision.

Good morning!

Today I woke up without that migraine! I told ya! Just a little headache. It's on it's way out. Wooooo hoooooo!!!! I'm getting ready to do KenpoX and then we are going to Old Chicago to celebrate DH's birthday (it was when I was out of town) with my family). I think I'll be pretty good b/c pizza doesn't sound that great. Let's see what happens when my nose zones in on the scent!

Lora - you did what you felt was right and what you and DH had talked about. No use second guessing. What's done is done. Onward and upward. You would have been miserable working shifts. I know I would. Don't beat yourself up.

I just realized I never really got bicep DOMS. Bad news. I guess I should have gone heavier. Darn it. Noted. I think that's the only part of my body that didn't get DOMS this week. Did you see Tracy on the Xer's check-in did 3 unassisted pull ups and chin ups? I asked her how far along she is in the program. I fear it's only a week. Someone else asked her what she ate, drank, when she peed, etc.

My good friend Mel is still lurking but hasn't joined us yet, obviously. COME ON MEL!!! I was telling her about Cardio Coach. They're great workouts, right? I told her you all love 'em. She's been BRINGIN' IT this week too.

Dallys - I looked for those bands to assist with pull ups on Beachbody, but didn't find them. Did you say where to get them? And how do you know what size to get? It sure looks like it would be easier to have good form so you could FINALLY do something unassisted someday. My form sucks!!!

Anyone else who did P90X start out not being able to do any pull ups or chin ups at the beginning and then able to do them at the end? Can you tell I'm a little obsessed with this? :)

Off to the basement. Lots to do today so want to get an early start. DH is starting a photography business on the side mostly for fun (as opposed to for money) so he's doing family photos of different people for free for his portfolio and then giving them the CD and they can have all the pics to do with what they want(my great idea).

There are two hardcore threads going on, I'll post in both.

This morning I did my treadmill with all of Cardio Coach #2 and then did Challenge #3 from Cardio Coach #3. Love these sprinting challenges, they are so fun. These two workouts lasted about 40 minutes so I stayed on my treadmill and did a steady state for 20 more minutes. Workout was 1 hr. 5 minutes, was in my zone for 51 minutes and burned 351 calories.

I can't believe how tight my jeans are getting. I'm hoping its muscle gain. Its mostly in my upper thighs, my jeans are loose in my waist area. Not sure I like this, though, even if it is muscle.

Hubby's company Christmas party is tonight, hoping to eat well there like I did last weekend at my party. We shall see if they even have healthy food where we are going, some Moose lounge somewhere.

Have great workouts everyone!

Suz- Here are some links for bands

People really like this one, but it's not what I have.http://www.performbetter.com/detail.aspx?ID=3889&CategoryID=358

Here's an example of how to use a band assist

http://www.uwlax.edu/strengthcenter/videos/exercisevideos/assisted_chin.mpg

Here are the Beachbody bands, I used the green band. I was able to slip the bar through the handles, so make sure you can do it that way. I bought the extreme package and I can't even stretch the black band. It's way extreme. Just so you know. Oh! and remember the lighter the band, the harder it is. Like a red band would make the pullup harder than the green band. Kind of opposite thinking.

When I first started, I didn't even bother trying to do a unassisted pull-up the first phase. I knew I could maybe do 1-3 chins, but I wanted to build up and not pull something and get injured. By the second phase. I'd do some unassisted on 2 or so exersises and then go right back to assisted for a few more reps. By the 3rd phase I didn't do any assisted, except on maybe the switch grips. And could do 9 close grip, 11 chins, and 3 wide grip with no assist. So, think of it as a slow progression. It will happen. I will add that on all the back workouts, I did pulldowns on the second half of the workout, starting at 60lbs and working my up to 100lb pulldowns.
