Morning Maniacs -

Where the heck did the weekend go? I forgot how short they are when you are working! Yikes. Yesterday, I was feeling sore all over and never thought I'd be able to work out this morning....but I did. I did my Jillian book circuit Frontside. This one was actually not too bad. I cut my cardio segments down to 1.5 minutes instead of 2....but because you only do the circuits 2 instead of 3 times this week, I got done in 50 minutes and that was with the stretch. I burned 300 calories. Tomorrow's looks harder.

Wormwood - Re: jobs - They are scarce around here. I was bumped out my job at the hospital last December and have been ACTIVELY searching for a job since then. I even passed out about 30 resumes in my subburb going door to door. Even the retail stores I applied at right before I got my job said that so many people are looking for work that they are only hiring the people that have the high test scores on pre-employment testing. I hope this place keeps me and that I'll have this job until I retire. I'm too old to keep going thru this crap. What's the job market like where you are? and where do you live?

Diane Sue - You've got me seriously considering those shoes (but I won't get my first paycheck for 3 weeks!!). I have bunions and plantar fasciitis. I didn't know they were common together. I have no idea of I'm an overpronator though. How do you know? or are you an overpronator if you have the bunions and PF?

Dallys -yes.....I'm at the point where these circuits aren't fun any longer and I just want to finish them! I think Jillian is a true maniac. She should join out thread. I can't decide what I want to do next. I'm a bit apprehensive on starting TT cuz of the pullups and me having to modify.

Good Morning, I started my workout this morning with Bosu Blast stopping at the abs and then doing Step Jump Pump step. I was all ready to take my granddaughters to school and my dd called and said she was able to do it so I will go back and do my weights in a little bit. I already had my protein shake so will wait a little while.

Lora, here is a couple of articles at Web MD that states excessive pronation as a cause of bunions and plantar fasciitis. I have read the same thing on some other sites as well. There is also a picture of an over pronating foot that you can click on in the article. If you can't see it I will try to e mail it to you.

First day of rest. Good timing as Aunt Flo paid a visit this morning. I'm doing abs tonight though.

It was nice sleeping in. It's so freakin' cold here I almost turned our heat on. :eek:

Dallys - thanks for the heads up on the forearm pain & tennis elbow. Hopefully it won't get that far. It still hurts a bit this morning but not much.

Good morning!

I'm off to do Imax 2. It's raining here and oh so dark in the mornings now. That's putting the hurt on those morning rides. But that's okay. I'm ready for things to change. :) I should have gotten up earlier so I could have done weights and cardio. Well, I did get up earlier, but I dinked around a bit too much and now I'm on here. Better get. I have a mammogram before work too.

Hey Debbie - We posted at the same time (almost). Have a nice rest day. Aunt Flo seems to have forgotten where I live this month. So she's either LATE (which doesn't happen with me - and she's 3 days late now - but could be), I'm pregnant (which would be a big miracle at 45 after almost 15 years of trying - and not really a GOOD miracle at this stage :p) or I will now be starting that next phase of my life - menopause! :)

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Gotta take off this morning to go shopping. Getting a dress for my brother's wedding this saturday. When I get home I will work chest/back/abs. I worked my arms at the hotel in Williamsburg.

Bought a BOSU.. Gonna try it today..

Been sick, along with everyone else and problems with MIL..

I hate this weather. I am freezing..

Going to do abs and i am not sure. Some day i will do a rotation..

Morning Maniacs! Just wasn't in the mood to workout this morning. Maybe because it's so cool out. Anyways, I plan on doing a TT workout and HIIT after work. Maybe a bike ride if I have time.
I uploaded some pics from my ride yesterday in my "bike rides" folder, if anyone is interested.:)

Lora I wouldn't worry to much about the pullups. I think your way with the treadmill and bar across the stair-rail would be fine, plus you can always do pulldowns.

Morning ladies

Today is my full body weight workout....(full fitness.net)

Yesterday was my rest day but wound up going on a 45min walk and doing yoga:eek:

Dallys-Not far enough in the book yet to figure it out....It's one of those that jumps around! I always compare these types of books to watching a tennis match. The last book I read was "Peony in Love" which was really a good book!

Suz-I have one son but always wanted more kids....but at this point (45yrs as well)....I could not imagine having another one! To think of having a 23yr old and then a baby is a scary thought!!

I did Tracy's core strength conditioning.
WOW. That one is tough.. Need some work on the leg up and bicycles..
But i am living.

Dallys it is the internet provider. I thought maybe the computer, but they are having some problems up here..
I like the Bosu, but my hands get sweaty and i slide. Need gloves with a yoga matt on them. I may just sew some on them.MM. Maybe a new invention..
Think i could market that one??

I could not imagine having more kids at my age. The grandson is enough on the weekends..
Well, gotta bath and go to work. The landlord knows i am planning on moving here, so i gotta tell him what is going on. I swear if he tries to raise the rent i hold the rent in escrow till he fixes the roof..


DH just called . Got hurt at work. Tree limb fell and belted his back and he almost got ran over by the pounder(he lays guide rail).
He is gonna be home for a while i do believe..
He didn't want to work in Harrisburg and now he got his wish..Not a good way to do it though.. He already has a bad back.

Well, they wouldn't do my mammogram. x( I know they are just being cautious. You know they have that question on the form as to whether there is a chance you could be pregnant. I HATE that question b/c since I'm never on birth control yet I've never been able to get pregnant, there is always that chance if I'm late - which I RARELY am. Now that I am going on 3 days late, that is late for me. I might be a day late or maybe 2 at the most, but never 3. So of course I said something so that they could put that little heavy metal skirt on me (I had it on one other time - I've been having mammos since I was 37). I told her I was 99.9% sure I wasn't pregnant, but that there is always that outside chance. I told her it was more likely that I'm just late or that I'm starting the whole menopause process. She said I'm too young (hehehe - she was all of 25). I told her my mom went through it at 38. She said - now listen up Lisa - they had a woman not too long ago who was 52 who was late and said there was no way she could be pregnant so they went through with it and she called a week later and said she was pregnant. BUT...she had kids already. Could you imagine????? I think I feel crampy, but I think that's b/c I'm focusing on it. :p

Dallys - Your pics are way cool! So pretty there. And you look like quite the mountain biker!

I finished my workout. Did some procrastinating first LOL I did Bosu Blast core/abs the Super Sets ab segments(used the barbell for rollouts and 25# for woodchops) then Super Sets LowerBlast stopping at the stretch and did Push Pull lower floorwork with 5# ankle weights 3 times, calves once with 25# dumbbell, and then stretch from both.
SS lower 3 sets each
squats 65pounds
deadlifts 65pounds
plie squats 65pounds
dumbbell 1 leg squat heel on bench 1 set 20# 2 sets 24#

Anne, that is scarey about your dh. Hope it isn't anything to serious. Wouldn't your weight lifting gloves help on the bosu? I use the stability ball on core conditioning, I have to be particular about where my hands are because of the impending push ups after all of the plank work:) That is a tough workout, but I love it. Hope they get your internet working right. We had a notice on our door friday that the cable company was going to be in our area this week working. Hope that is not a bad sign here.

Diane Sue- That particular ride is basically a circle and starts with a long gradual uphill, then it comes to a combo of level\hills\downhills and then you get to a long fast downhill section (way fun!), then you come to an extreme long uphill (hardest part), then you go thru more combos and then finally a downhill back to the car.:) So, whenever there is a downhill...you forsure know that there will be an uphill to make up for it.}( The uphills seem to last forever and the downhills go by in a flash. It's one of my favorite rides.

Suz - you're too funny. That darn Aunt Flo. She was 5 days late for me this month and she's usually early. I think she's having a bad month. Too bad you had to waste your time at the mammo place! I hate wasting time.

Diane Sue - I meant to mention this morning. Do you read M&F for Her? I finally got the DH to buy an issue and I was reading the July/Aug one yesterday and there is a weighted circuit workout with heavy bag segments in it. I thought of you and wondered if you saw the article. I was thinking of doing the rotation in the next month or so....but I only have my regular heavy bag...not the one like you.

Dallys- so - you really feel worked from TT? Is that program you gave me the actual one you buy or is that a shorter version? I wish my computer was better....cuz they have tons of them for sale and they look tempting, although how many different ways can you do the same thing?? LOL.

Gotta get ready to watch GH. I missed it all last week cuz I couldn't stay awake to save my soul all last week. Hopefully, I'll be able to tonight. I'm a bit concerned about my new job cuz the one girl that does the same job as me was supposed to leave to get a teaching job and she's changed her mind and decided to stay with the office. I hope they are planning on keeping both of us!
