Morning Maniacs -

I'm off to do some functional fitness type exercise and maybe some Kundalini yoga. Be back later.

Good Morning
Last night I did KPC doin the drills first then the cardio. Today is suppose to be my rest day but i'm up and it's 5:30 and dont have to be at work till 10.
Lora how is your cold? Mine is getting better.
Meg it is so good to have you back, we've missed you!!
BBL
Randi

I ended up doing Brain Muscle Level 1 & 2. Workout was 65" and I burned 320 calories with that. I then added a bit of Core Rhythms Salsa Blast (just to check it out intensity wise) for about 20 minutes. Calorie burn went up to 400 and Salsa Blast will be a "recovery day" workout, as it was low intensity. I also did Ravi & Ana's Yoga Beauty Body 45".

These Brain Muscle workouts are functional fitness utilizing a lot of compound movements and balancing on one leg, etc. I used ankle weights for all of the leg work and my legs are fried right now (but I did a circuit yesterday and added on Lotte Berk legs....so they were fatigued).

Randi - my cold is getting better, but it's moved down into my chest and I've been coughing a lot. I hope I dont' have complications due to my asthma.

My foot feels like it's sprained or something. It wasn't like this before the injections last week. I'll call the foot doctor when they open.

The weather here has been gorgeous. Sunny and 80 with low humidity!! Hot sun and cool air....who can ask for more?

Have great workouts everyone.

Happy Monday to all! Today's workout was Pull working Back, Biceps & Traps. I added in calves as well. 2 minutes rest between everything:

Back
Wide Grip Pullups: 6/6/4 (last week was 5/4/4)
T-Bar Rows: 70# - 3 sets/8 reps (Up 5#)
Reverse Grip DB Rows: 27's - 3 sets/10 reps (Up 2#)
***Notes: I was so excited being able to do 2 sets/6 reps of the pullups. I don't believe I've ever done that. Wide Grips have really challenged me. With the T-bar rows my towel almost ripped in half. I was really worried with the last set! LOL! Guess I need to get a stronger towel. I could have used 30's for the DB rows but I'm always worried about my low back with all the bent over stuff.

Biceps
Barbell Curls: 55# 3 sets/8 reps (same weight but last week did 8/7/7 reps)
Dumbbell Preacher Curls: 22's - 3 sets/10 reps (Up 2#)
***Notes: Did BB curls with strict form. What a difference that makes. DB Preachers were challenging as well. Got a great pump.

Traps
Barbell Shrugs: 110# - 3 sets/12 reps (Up 5#)
***Notes: I need to get a set of those hooks that you wrap around your wrists and the hook holds onto the barbell. This weight was really hard for me to hang on to.

Calves
Barbell Calf Raise: 110# - 3 sets/15 reps (Up 5# + up reps)

Music mix for today: Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, Trapt, Velvet Revolver, lots of Linkin Park and some Enrique.

I WILL DO ABS TONIGHT!!!

Have great workouts everyone!

Good morning!

We FINALLY got that ride in last night! We were just walking out the door and the phone rang. It was a Capt. from the PD. I couldn't believe it! He told him, "We just had another one. I need you to come in." Then he told him he was kidding and DH could hear his kids laughing in the background. He just wanted to let him know the Gov. was loaning the PD his helocopter this morning to search for this guy. So DH and some others are up in the air as I type. Have you seen that guy on Fox News and CNN? He looks scary! You can see him on www.foxnews.com. I hope they find him.

Our ride was HARD! We did hills and it was windy. And my legs were fried from ME on Saturday. So today is a rest day for me. My hammies are so sore. :)

Hope you all have a great day.

Diane Sue - Great workout. Those are some heavy squats! Does it take you a long time to put together your workouts from various workouts that you have?

Thanks for the salad recipes. I printed it all out and will keep it in a safe place this time. :) It will definitely help.

Still haven't heard from DH. Helicopter ride was only supposed to be a few hours. Hmmm...been 6 hours since they went up. He was going to call when they were down. In our 14.5 years of marriage (and he's been a police officer since I've known him) I've never had that feeling of dread of something happening to him but my cell phone rang about an hour ago and I thought it was him (not many people call me on my cell phone - my sister, my girlfriends, my DH, but no other men) and it was a man's voice - sort of solemn - and said "Susan?" and I said "Yes" and my heart sunk and he said "This is Patrick..." the owner of our bike shop telling me my shoes were back ordered. He had asked me for my cell phone # the other day when we were in there. I almost started to cry! What's MY problem!!!

Great workouts everyone.

Diane Sue - what kind of salad recipes do you have? I love salad.

Toasty - have fun at the Freeze. Is your DH still away on his family visit with his father?

Suz- where is that guy from that they are looking for? Great bike ride.

Deb - what Saliva do you have? I like them. How was Night Shift?

I just got back from my interview. It was with a small telephone company in the suburb next to mine. The owner interviewed me and it's a SHE and she's only about 30 or so....thin, pretty and had a great smile. For some reason, her smile brought out the sense of humor in my personality and I kept cracking jokes. She probably thinks I'm a goof ball. Good for her starting her own business. The business is 1.5 years old and they are hiring a second office person, as it's growing. We'll see what happens. I go for my Buckle interview tomorrow.......but the DH is less than thrilled about that!!

Lora - I haven't watched Night Shift yet. I figure I have until Thursday. LOL! I'll let you know when I watch it. Probably tomorrow. I don't have any Saliva CD's, I just keep downloading their songs. My favorite one right now is "Always". I LOVE that song.

Lora - Do you mean where is he from as in raised or where is he from as in living? If living, he's from here in Cheyenne. He has not been home and obviously didn't show up to work today. DH finally called at 6:15 (whew). They spent 6 hours in the helicopter looking for him (3 hours, stopped and refueld, then 3 more hours). No luck. ABC and NBC have their big satellite vehicles in front of the PD now so I guess they're ready to do their big stories.

Good luck on the outcome of your interview today and good luck on your interview with The Buckle tomorrow.

Suz, most of the time it doesn't take that long to change dvd's. Today I took advantage of having a dvd player in the television and an external one. I don't do that very often. The external one takes longer to load because it is a 5 disc one. Suz, I think it is normal to worry once in awhile. I saw that case on Fox News this evening.

Lora, the salad recipes that I gave Suz all have meat in them. I think s couple you might be able to substitute some other ingredients. Do you get M&F Hers magazine? The July/Aug issue has a strawberry spinach chicken salad that is yummy. You could sub some cheese or more nuts for the chicken. It has pecans in it. I like the lemon dressing that they use on it. Also in the same issue there is a Greek Style crab pita that I have used but left out the pita and added more greens and a little more dressing. You could omit the imitation crab. The current issue has a chicken salad on page 136 that is really good and you could use more black beans in. I like all three of these and the dressings that go with them.

I am really tired today so I am off to bed.
