I'm back. I did Day 1 of the M&F Time to Burn Fat rotation. I won't post it since I posted it the other day. I hope my shoulders are okay. I really hit the heavy bag hard. For the cardio segments I did high knee jogging on the Rebounder with Football Runs, ran up and down the step and did Speed Skaters. Great for frustration! Tunes were Puddle of Mudd's new CD and Three Days Grace - One X. Workout was 77 minutes and I burned 552 calories. I also did Yoga to Go - Back to Health with Nancy Wilde - Upper Back and Shoulders 20" and Soothe and Release 20".
Diane Sue - The DVDs I have for Upper Back/Neck/Shoulders are Yoga to the Rescue with Desiree Rumbaugh (Amazon) - this is a head to toe Anusara Yoga practice that is supposed to be good for people that sit at the computer, etc. This is the one you massage your feet in. I like it...but it's around 50". ViniYoga with Gary Kroftsow - Upper BAck & Shoulders -
www.viniyoga.com but I got my copy at Pranayama.com. This is very gentle and a unique approach to opening the back. I like it ....but only do it at night and only when I'm really severe. Relief from Neck and Shoulder Pain with Lillah Schwarz. I've only done this once or twice. Very gentle practice. Yoga to Go - Back to Health with Nancy Wilde. This is the one I did this morning and probably the one I'd pick off this list if I had to pick one....as it has the upper body segment 20"....the lower back segment 20" and the Soothe and Release segment 20". I also have a DVD on the way and I'll let you know how it is when I get it.
Out of all of the above....none of them really help tremendously, but I have severe problems......but they do help a little. I also find that doing Yoga Shakti's Standing Pose Flow 1 (I think) helps to loosen up my shoulders a bit and feels good. Something I find that works even better than some of these yoga's are the Classical Stretch I've been doing. You can read more about them at
www.ClassicalStretch.com and if you do a search at Videofitness, there is a long thread about them that I read that people mentioned it helping their upper backs/shoulders which is what caught my attention to them. After you look at it, if you think you might be interested, I can let you know which ones are best for upper back. It uses a combination of flowing tai chi type moves, stretches, and different arm and shoulder exercises using just your body weight. The instructor, Miranda, is sort of a goof ball and does not have the best cueing...but I like bizarre people...so I like her. Also, re: all of the above yoga DVDs, the instructors are not the best.....but I have them more for the issue at hand. I also have that Yummy Yoga DVD that I bought at Amazon...but it's not really yoga. You can read the reviews at Amazon. I've only done it once so far. After I got it, I started doing Classical STretchs instead. HOpe this helps a bit.
Have great workouts everyone.
Deb - just wondered if you like Korn at all? Do you have any of their CD's?
