Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Just got back from camping last night. Had a good time. Rode fun bike again this year and did ab ripper in the morning.

Working out on elliptical today, etc.

Lora,

Ordering Buckcherry tickets today. I told daughter she can bring 2 friends along.

I ended up doing Brain Muscle Vol 4 followed by The Upper Eastside Workout ...both with Michael Gonzalez-Wallace. I used ankle weights for all of the leg work (they didn't - and I'm not sure I'll be walking tomorrow). I did the workout with my boot on but it's low impact and the Upper East Side workout is mostly done on the floor. Workout was 75" and I burned 300 calories. I also did Yoga for Health - Headaches 40".

Whoa....those Brain Muscles have a zillion curtsy lunges in them and I'm feeling the accumulative effect from all of those this week!

I also played around trying various aerobic activities with and without my boot on (I'm hard headed). I wanted to do a bit of aerobics and if I wasn't going away in 2 weeks, I'd be doing rebounding and a few other things I feel are safe enough.....cuz after all, I used my rebounder with my bad stress fracture last time and didn't make it any worse....but I'm going to wait a few days before I rebound. I bought a couple new spinning DVDs instead.

Randi - so you sound like you're feeling better, are you? I still have a bad cough and sinus problems from that stupid cold.

Charlotte - where's the concert and when? I'm so glad you're going!!

Diane Sue - those grandkids keep you busy!!

Deb - so Night Shift sucked...huh? Is there anyone else from GH in it besides Patrick and Robin? Looks like they're giving Lulu a bigger role on GH....and taking that whole story in a new direction. At least it's better than the baby kidnapping drama and Liz and Jason stuff!!
Have great workouts.

Today is my rest day and I'm starting a new rotation. I was going to start it Saturday but I think I'll take today and the weekend off to recharge. My low back has been bugging me yesterday and today so I want it to rest and feel better. Kind of worries me. So Monday I'll start my new rotation.

Hope you all have a great Friday! I'm having lunch with my cousin today.

Lora - Yea lots of people from GH are on it. Maxie, Coop, Robin, Patrick, Jason, Spinelli, the big black nurse (can't remember her name), Lanie and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others. Can't figure out how Jason got out of jail?

Deb - well, I hope they keep the story line on the regular GH interesting since they have this other one going on!! I'll be bummed if Night Shift gets better than GH. Have a nice rest day. What rotation are you starting next week? Another M&F? What's it's focus?

Speaking of rotations -- I meant to ask you ladies. RE: Afterburn by Cosgrove -- was looking at the rotations in the book and it appears he only works major muscle groups, i.e. not one bicep or tricep exercise. What do you ladies think of this? I've never done a program like this.
Here's an example of one day of the circuit:

Day 1
Partial co-con lunge
WG Seated Row
Romanian Deadlift
Incline Bench press
Step Up
Reverse crunch

Day 2

Jump Squats
DB Push Press
Good Morning
WG Lat Pull Down
Static Lunge
Russian Twist (ab move)
Prone cobra
It says to perform each day's cirucit 3 times a week and you do 3-4 sets of 12-15 reps.

What does this look like to you ladies? I'm wondering why some of the smaller muscles aren't included. I even looked at weeks 13-16 (the end of the program) and the moves are still similar with no smaller muscles.

Opinions please?? I was going to start this rotation next week since they don't include cardio like Jillian and I have a bum foot...but now I'm wondering!!????

I finished my workout. I started with Tracey's Sweatfest Step #1 no stretch then I did Body Max 2 cardio blast no w/up or str and added on the abwork, sculpt Sweatfest Belly Burner, and Amy's All Pump Ex core, finished with Stretch Max#2 stability ball.

Lora, if I were doing that rotation I would have to add some of the other muscle groups in there somewhere. Is there any explanation why they omitted muscle groups? Good for you sticking with safer workouts for awhile.

Weather is much more refreshing today so went on 19 mile bike ride instead of elliptical. Met my son for chinese food along the way. Very nice day.

Someone that is familiar with Cosgrove's work PM'd me to tell me that the reason Cosgrove does not work biceps and triceps is because they are smaller muscles and you already work them when you do bench press, push-ups, pull ups, etc. He feels it's more than enough and you can overtrain triceps and biceps quite easily. They said Cosgrove is much different from any other trainers. Cosgrove does not believe in working muscles in an isolation very much. He even pokes fun at bodybuilders, etc for doing too many reps/sets. They also said he's very intelligent. I'm still not sure what to do.

Lora - I'm making up my own rotation this time. It will go as follows:

Monday: Chest & Tri's
Tuesday: Cardio & abs
Wednesday: Back, Traps & Bi's
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: OFF
Saturday: Shoulders & 20 min. cardio
Sunday: Legs

I'm gonna do this for 4 weeks and then change the exercises up for another 4 weeks. I get better results working one body part a week so I'm hoping I like this.
