Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for 3/14

Today was total body and I had a great workout. It's amazing how much more I love my workouts when I'm in no pain. Makes a huge difference.

3 sets/8 reps with 1 minute rest.

Leg Press Station - 175#

Stiff Legged Deadlifts - 75#

Barbell Military Press - 45#

Barbell Curls - 45#

Barbell Rows - 55#

Flat Barbell Press - 75#

Then I did the Ab Work from SJ&P.
 
Morning :D

Today, I did 4 day split back & biceps and step reebox power workout.

I need to get up earlier or something. It took so long making coffee(I usually have the timer set) getting dressed and deciding which lower body workout that I wanted to do.
I decided on Low Impact Series trisets lower body mix, 35 min, 230 calories. No Stretch. I then did Kelly Coffey 30 min to fitness your best body cardio and lower premix, no w/up or stretch, 31 min, 258 calories. I took the girls to school, fixed JP breakfast and did Your Best Body with Kelly Coffey core and yoga premix. 22 min, 115 calories. Total time was 89 min, and calories burned was 603.

My neck and shoulders are still sore and I have a tension headache(that is what DD called it) This workout incorporated a lot of cardio with lower and core so I think was a good choice.

Debbie, it is wonderful working pain free. I am so glad that this is working for you:) I have been through this neck and shoulder pain a few times. It is not as bad or long term as the first so I think that I am on to what to do and what is causing it. Adjustments in my workouts need to be made once I do not feel any pain.

Teddy, I love those Les Mills cardios and think they will work wonderfully into your schedule. Let me know how you like them:) You will hit the lower body in all of these as well.

Roselyn, which Kelly Coffey did you do?? I find that I use her premixes more than her workouts as set up. Both 30 min workouts or specific areas that I am working. I love her workouts. Todays workouts were pretty much cardio and lower, and core(standing and planks), so I am happy.
 
I'm in love with 'Quinoa' this is my new favorite food. I'm sure you guys know exactly what it is, right? :) Any who, I have been buying it readymade at Mustard Seed and OMG love it.

So yesterday I decided to buy me a box, thinking of adding black beans, corn, broccoli, and cranberries, so…so much you can do. Isn't Quinoa consider a carb? Is it fatten? Is it loaded with protein? can I eat it everyday...wait..... can I drink it lol:D Really tho, my question is how much is too much.

It does have more of a complete protein to it and is still a grain. I use it quite a lot. Funny, I had some in a bag and dd spilled some. My grandson came to explain that his mother spilled some of my birdseed trying to get coffee :) It is a nice replacement for rice in recipes. I still to this day do not how I am supposed to wash it when I buy some of those bags. It goes through a mesh strainer. I buy some frozen meals from Martha's Kitchen that have Quinoa in them. They are high protein and low in cholestral dinners that are really good. Gluten free as well. I have to go to Akin's Nutrition center here to get them though. There are quite a few recipes using quinoa on allrecipes.com.

Put it in a large bowl or pot and run cold water in it (about 3 times the amount of quinoa.) Use a spoon to stir it around, and then let it sit for a few minutes. Stir it around a few more times, and then strain the quinoa. While it is in the stainer, you can run cold water over it once more to rinse off the remaining wax. Now it's ready to be cooked.

I really did not know how important it is to wash several times, hm....had not I google I'd only washed once................:eek: Bet its really good with spinach.
 
Thanks, Teddy. I think I used it quite awhile without washing when I first started using it several years ago. Sometimes you can find it already washed and bagged but, I still find most of the time I have to wash it.
