Morning Maniacs -
This morning I did Willpower & Grace (Dallas are you out there?). This is a 70 minute workout described as Pilates Bootcamp. The warmup and aerobic segment equal about 30 min, but I wanted more aerobics so I stopped at the end of the aerobic segment and did the aerobic segment of YBB Hip Hop Abs (love that one) and then continued on with Willpower & Grace. I also did Duncan Wong's 30 min. Enlightening Level Yoga/Gung Fu blend prana type yoga. It was nowhere near as intense as the advanced level (this was the beginning level).
This was a tough workout and the aerobic segment pretty much consists of plyometrics, squats and lunges done aerobically. So many lunges that I actually got a twinge in my knee at one point and that rarely happens to me. The warm/up and cool down are yoga based stretches with some dance-like stretches. It ends with 25 minutes of core work.
I don't really know if I like this workout. I think I'm just sort of picky when it comes to people separating yoga from being done it's traditional way. I never seem to enjoy it much that way. Every workout I've tried so far that tries to incorporate yoga and cardio has not clicked with me. I'll have to do it a few more times before I make a final decision.
My legs were quivering at the end of the aerobic segment, so I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow. The core work was a LOT of back work and the ab parts were more of an isometric slow moving type. VEry different than what I'm used to.
Sorry Dallas if you wanted to hear a better review on this....but I'm just being honest and like I said, it just might be my personal taste.
Now I REALLY miss my traditional yoga this week. I didn't really do any on Wednesday, yesterday or today!! Oh no!! How will I make it thru the week?
I've decided not to start my Cathe rotation yet, as I want to do my Jari Love "Ripped to the Core" that just came a few days ago this week , as well as some yoga, Bosu and I want to do that CIA Full Body Cardio 70 min' tough workout with Sharon Twombly one day this week.
Speaking of all of the yoga I've been doing......Twice this week, my DH asked me if I was sure I'm gaining weight cuz my legs and butt look smaller. I think the yoga has been doing it to my legs and butt....but most of my recent weight problems seem to be in my lower abs.....and that's why I'm on a PIlates mission.
Have great workouts or rest days everyone. We're going to see the Break Up. I'm looking forward to it, as I love Vince Vaughn.
Charlotte - have you done your Animal Arm workout yet? How was it? I'm thinking about getting it, but would like to hear what you have to say first.
