Morning Fit Ladies - Happy Memorial Day -
This morning I did Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets Head to Toe in 30 minutes and Strength Interval workouts back to back (1 hour) plus 10 minutes of Quick Fix Pilates Abs with Kelly Roberts and I finished off with 90 minutes of Mark Blanchard's Progressive Power Yoga from the Trilogy Series, Volume 1.
That was a pretty tough workout. I used 8-12 lb weights for the Gunnar DVDs and the first DVD had jump rope intervals. It was fun. I did slightly more reps than they did with the weights, as I started while he was explaining a move and I jumped rope longer to make it harder. I used a med ball for the ab segments.
The Power Yoga DVD was very difficult and advanced. I had to modify. I could not do the headstands, shoulder stands, handstands and elbow stands, as well as arm balances splits. This 90 min DVD, again, had a lot of balancing moves in it and really worked your legs.
I think my body was still sore from that Source Power workout the other day and today's functional fitness/yoga is probably going to leave me pretty sore again. I don't know if this is much of a recovery week.
I'm on a mission to whittle my core...so I'll be adding quite a bit of Pilates into my routine. I've got to find my Pilates Reformer tapes so I can start using my Reformer again in the evenings.
Debbie - Thanks for the Low Max Extended workout. It looks tough.
Diana Sue - Do you think I should start my Cathe rotation with 2 weeks of the Fatloss or 2 weeks of the split strength one?
Have great workouts everyone or rest days and Happy Memorial Day.
We saw The Last Stand (X-Men) movie yesterday and it was pretty good.
I'm off to soak my sore shoulders. I think I did too many pushups on the floor and one armed down dogs. I go for another set of Trigger Point injections on Wednesday.
