Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did LowMax Premix followed by Cardio & Weights Abs and then Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness - Magically Hips.

Whoa .....my legs are toast. They were already sore and LowMax and Eion did them in (I actually had to fall out of a couple standing poses early). I still think that yoga DVD is the best one on the market and I still haven't even done the full practice premix on it or the Strong and Happy one. Magically Hips is REALLY good for people who run or do tons of aerobics. I had Amy Bento's Stretch tape sitting out to do, but after Eion, I didn't need it. :p

Have great workouts everyone. I'm off to soak. I had my DH order me Whole Wheat Penne Pasta with Marinara sauce for the picnic. They did have whole wheat after all. I ended up buying pants from Dillards that are like yoga capris .......since they will be just as cool as shorts and I don't have to bare all of my pure white legs!!

Where is everyone this weekend??? Must be out partying.

I don't know what possessed me today, but I decided to do IMAX 3. I ate good yesterday and had all kinds of energy. However, my tuck jumps were pretty shallow because I HATE doing them. I had to take a little longer rest period between section #7 and #8 - I think #7 is the hardest on this whole workout - its the jumping jack series off the step. I was almost to 170 with my HR monitor. I never go past 165 usually.

I was in my zone for 40 minutes and burned 345 calories.

We are almost done with my weight room. I have to finish the trim and then I'll be done with painting it. My dh put in new windows yesterday and has to finish the duct work. Hopefully he'll feel like doing that today, then I can set up my weight bench tomorrow.

Have great workouts everyone!

DH and I were going to ride yesterday, but it was so windy. So I took yesterday off instead of today. I should have gone riding EARLY this morning b/c it was pretty still. But I had to get a cake in the oven before it got too hot. Before it was even done baking the winds picked up like crazy. Darn it! So I'm going to do Power Hour instead. A friend wants to ride in the morning and another one wants to ride Tuesday morning, so I better get my weights in today. These gals were hardcore after work cyclists and after joining me on a couple of morning rides (my favorite time to ride) they are hooked. It gets more difficult as the days get shorter though because there's not enough time to get the mileage in before work. That's when evenings become better. But we'll enjoy it while we can.

Today we're having a bbq for DH's dad and his wife, DH's grandparents, my mom and her DH and his dad. My sister is going to come over and maybe a couple of my friends who are alone here. Should be fun. The cake didn't come out great - it is Betty Crocker and usually I use Pillsbury. One of my friends believes that everyone (but her) should have a "homemade" cake on their birthday, so I made it in case she comes over since her birthday is tomorrow and they didn't have her favorite kind in Pillsbury at Wal-Mart (German chocolate).

Lora - I'm so glad you said that's the best yoga DVD out there since it's the one you recommended I buy. :) I want to try the hip workout since I have hip issues. But I'll tell you what - I've been taking that Osteo Bi-flex and my hip with the bursitis has not hurt ONCE since it kicked in. That stuff is amazing. Sorry if I've said this before, but I can't believe the difference.

Debbie - I hate those tuck jumps too! Are you going to post pics of your new workout room?

Pretty long post for a day when only a couple of us are around, huh? I'm just a chatty person I guess. :p

Have a great day everyone!!!

Suz - I'll post them when its all set up. I got the painting done, my dh put in new windows and now he just has to finish the duct work. Hopefully through the week. Fingers crossed. So hopefully by next weekend I'll have pics to share.

Everyone must be busy partying for father's day??

Debbie - I'm envious. I wish we had an extra room that I could make a weight room. As you know, dragging my equipment out tacks on at least 15 minutes to my workouts and it's a major pain....but our house is too small. Such is life. Good for you getting a weight room!! I bet you're excited.

Suz - Did you order Eion's DVD yet? I love it.

What do you ladies think about this ---

This was in an interview I read in a magazine recently by Michael Roizen, chair of the division of anestesiology and critcal care medicine at the Cleveland Clinc and author of the RealAge Makeover. Apparently, he consulted thousands of scientific studies and developed a formula to determine the wear on your body based on your health behaviors.

This is the question/answer that caught my eye:

How much exercise do you really need to stay young? And is it true that too much exercise can age you prematurely?

More than four hours of stamina exercise a week can damage cells, particularly your DNA, and destroy muscle tissue. The result is that you'll end up aged and hobbling around before your time. To stay young, you need 30 minutes a day of walking, 30 minutes a week of strength activity and 20 minutes 3 times a week of stamina training.

My questions - .......what exactly is stamina training? and what does everyone think of this?
