Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for FRIDAY 2/10

Nicole,

I hope my addiction comment did not offend you. I was joking but when I read that again I thought it sounded a bit rude. You know I didn;t mean it that way, I hope :) I think it is great you have found something to do that you like. Oh and the TLT's are starting to call my name :) But then again Diane Sue has p90x calling me too. :)

Lisa-what day next week are your interviews?
Lora-Glad to see your computer is still working.

Terri

I just thought I would say hi again. Reading the posts on not wanting to eat meat, I find it to hard to eat enough complete proteins without it. Unless you live on egg whites. I know it can be done if you really pay attention to combining proteins to get all of the amino acids. My girls are not big meat eaters either, especially if they have to look at it and cook it. I have really enjoyed the recipes in the P90X book. I am getting a little tired of chicken and fish but it is varied and I ate these a lot anyway. I think I am sticking with phase one for awhile though, as that is similar to how I eat anyway with a cheat day here and there.

Lisa, I hope your interviews go well.

Lora, maybe you missed my question about Turbo Jam. I know you are having computer difficulties.

Sure, one of my favorite days menu is day 4
Soy sausage muffin which is soy sausage, wheat english muffin, and fat free mozzarella cheese, skim milk
meal 2 protein bar or recovery drink(here I put a half scoop protein powder in 1/2 c skim lactaid milk or vanilla soy milk)
meal3is a salad that is steak and arugula. I have bought aruula but use Romaine and spinach most of the time. It has grilled steak strips, and artichokes that you drain and I rinse them with a great balsamic vinegrette recipe that is over it.
meal 4 ia turkey jerky I guess I go away from this just because I dont have it so eat low fat swiss cheese slice
meal 5 is Chicken breast, honey chili sauce (another good recipe)It calls for quinoa( I have quinoa pasta that includes some corn) I half it because of the corn flour. and snap pes. I put the sauce over all of it and eat it.
Some people find it complicated, but if you look ahead and freeze the soups that are added here and there you can have it ready to put together quickly. On one day there is a chicken scramble with eggs. I cook the chicken the night before and make sure I cook enough for the chicken salad at lunch. I know I could probably cook the meats ahead and some of the stirfrys and freeze them but mostly prepare things ahead. I know this is getting long. Sorry.

Thanks so much Diane Sue! I wonder since I DON'T EAT RED MEAT IF i could sub chicken or fish for it. Also have you sat down and calculated the calories in a day? It seems like a lot but I know you workout very hard.

Terri

I dont see why not. Most of the menus are chicken and fish anyway. Throw some tuna in the salad or stir fry, or chicken, and I think you would be fine. They do have kind of a short substitution idea for anyone that is vegetarian as well. Today was an egg white omelet with spinach and feta cheese. Turkey burger and Sword fish ( I am using tilapia) w/mango sauce and wild rice with an artichoke
