Cathlete
GM Ladies-

The trap is better and so is my mood :) I did Turbo Fire 30/Stretch 10 and finished w/ some Indian Club moves. Time w/o the club moves was 43 min and I burned 398 calories. Eats were pretty good, and I managed to stop some compulsive behavoir so I was very pleased w/ myself.

I'm sorry I didn't get back for personals yesterday, but everyone looked like they were maintaining the maniac status

Today was cardio and I was really looking forward to doing some kind of Cardio Coach Mix. So I started out with the 2 - 8 minute treks from CCV8, did a 4 minute steady state and then did the 5 - 1 minute sprint, 1 minute rest challenge from CCV6. Had a great workout but with the 2nd 8 minute trek my hip flexor started to burn. I finished the trek and was able to rest it with the steady state and then when I did the 5 - 1 minute sprints I didn't do them all out. I felt good after that challenge and stayed on my treadmill for about 10 more minutes to get to the 3 mile mark.

Then I did the Ab Work from Muscle Endurance. Love that one!

CARDIO STATS:
52 minutes total
6 minutes below zone
13 minutes in zone
34 minutes above zone
423 calories burned
3 miles travelled

Happy Tuesday!

Today was 4 DS bootcamp and heavy Bi's and Tri's. I am happy to report that I actually did the ENTIRE workout again today - LOL. I guess I shouldn't be too excited considering there is still only 30 min of cardio, but I figure if I get in 30 min of cardio EVERY day that equals 60 min of cardio for 2 days, right? Anyway, it was a good workout - unlike my taped FIT TV stuff from last night. I did enjoy the "hip hop dance" with Madonna Grimes, although I wouldn't really consider it much of a "workout". I also did most of the Brazilian dance, although quit early because it was soooooo boring (IMHO).
I have 2 workouts taped for every day this week so I will try to get in my second workout of the day. I guess it's good because they really aren't very stellar workouts, but still keep me active for another 30-60 min each day.

Theresa- Glad to hear you are doing better!! I wish I could say I had been better with eating over the past few days, but alas I think I am out to sabotage myself. I know I can do better, but I just have to get over the junk/sugar slump I have been in!!

Debbie - I like the ME ab workout myself! I usually don't "love" ab workouts, but that one moves quickly. Nice workout today.

I hope everyone else is doing well today. I have my home computer hooked up so hopefully I can read/post later this evening as well.

Have a good day and happy workouts!

Cheryl

Workout is finished
icon_biggrin.gif
I started with Turbo Fire 30 31 minutes 208 caloires Max HR 158(had several interruptions
icon_confused.gif
) Then I did TF Hiit 25 25 minutes Max HR 165 201 calories, I followed with just the first 4 intervals of Hiit 15 5 minutes 41 calories. I finished with TF Core 20 and Abs 10 32 minutes 11 calories. I realized after I did it that I have done Fire 30 before. At this point the only TF workout that I have not done is Fire EZ 45. I will do that one tomorrow. My workout today was 93 minutes and calories burned 561.

Theresa - I went back and read all the threads that I couldn't participate in and I seen what you wrote about your food dilema. I like that train of thought, "I ask myself, do I really want to eat this?" I think that's good to do before you stick something in your mouth that could put on 5# to your hips. I have been struggling with my foods for some time now and I need to get a grip on it. It's good to know we are almost all in the same boat! :) Glad your trap is better! My neck still bothers me but not to the point where I can't workout. The workouts probably aren't helping, though. Nice workout!

Cheryl - I wish we got Fit TV. I'd like to see some of the other instructors out there. Glad you have a computer at home finally! Great job getting all your workout done! Woo hoo!

Diane Sue - Killer workouts again! Nice job! Sorry about the interruptions. There is nothing worse then getting into a workout and then having to stop.

Anyone know where Linda is? I hope she is ok.

I to everyone to come! Hope you are all having a great day!

Diane Sue-you are really working those Turbo Fires nicely, what do you think of the sculpt and ab workouts? I have only done the 30 min and 15 min HIIT, but will get to the others eventually.

Cheryl-YAY for the full workout :) And I hear you on the eats, it was getting really bad for awhile. Lately, if I feel like having a cookie I have one, otherwise it just consumes me. I'll be interested to hear about your fit tv workouts this week :D

Debbie-It is refreshing to know others do the same thing w/ food. It just seems like the more restrictions I put on myself, the worse it was getting. I was really starting to exhibit some binge behaviors that were scaring me. I feel more at peace w/ things lately, I just hope it lasts. I know I will need to tighten up eventually, but for now I'm FREE  I'm also having things and waiting a bit to see if I really want more, but the thing I have really been focusing on is putting the fork DOWN between bites-I usually hoover my food :D
Nice work on the CC today; Quite a good calorie burn. Did you get a new pillow yet? It seems to be helping the shoulder/trap issue (well...that and the clubs). Sorry for the novel

I got a new pillow the last time my neck bothered me. It helped me quite a bit but still had this last bought again. This time was different, though. It feels like it needs to be cracked. Like my neck is stuck and can't release itself. I wish I trusted chiropractors, I'd go and have them adjust it. But that just scares the bejeezus out of me. I'm with you on the food crap! LOL!

Hi -

Yesterday was ugghh. No workout and I was in a pretty poor mood by the evening. I still feel that part lingering. Fighting off a ...slump maybe. Since I broke BC/Me  , I'm thinking about pulling out The Terminator this week. It has tracks from both of those. I was thinking about The Viper today but ... I don't know. Probably need a lower impact day. The muscle's in my feet feel kind of tender. I just can't decide

Debbie - Great workout :) Must have felt really good to get past (and then through) the hip flexor problem. Good for you on the abs, too. After a long workout, sometimes they can be easy to ... skip (for me, anyway).

Cheryl - Hang in there. I think the 4 Day Split is a good approach. Slumps  Yah. Fighting off my own version of one right now. I think most people go through them. But, if you just do the best you can for now, you'll get back in your groove. You probably didn't need this pep talk ... maybe I did ;) Hope you have a good day.

Theresa - You sound right on track and very healthy - and inspiring :D -

Diane Sue - Well. Another great workout. How many TF workouts are there altogether? I haven't run across one negative review of them. They must be pretty good :D

Ok then. Feel like I've been out of the loop a little lately. I will try to decide what to do and bbl.

You guys all sound great :)

Lori

Lori - Please "pep talk" away....LOL. I need all of the help I can get lately! I was soooo excited about the weight loss a few months ago, and now I'm back to the drawing board. I have been in a slump also...maybe the weather....hormones.....eating really poorly? I really don't know.

Debbie and Theresa - What do you guys think about a "Food challenge"? I'm not talking about "not eating that cookie", but just staying in some kind of calorie range...tracking....something? Any thoughts?

Diane Sue - Great workout....as always. Do you have any ideas/input for the nutrition dilemma?

Ok....back to work. BBL

Cheryl

Today I did some HIIT workouts, 30/30 and 40/20 and then some ab work.

I would be up for a food challenge.

Diane Sue, you seem to do TF alot I am in the market to buy it what are your reviews on them.

Roselyn-did you see the response to your post on Sunday? There were a few replies to your question about Turbo Fire.

Cheryl/Debbie-I would consider a food challenge. I can tell you what my main "goals" are at the moment:
1.Eat a protein, carb, and healthy fat at every meal
2.Have a "treat" every day
3. Use hands as portion control measure (1 hand for carbs and protein/2 hands for veggies)
4. Eat when I am hungry (not just b/c it is a certain time of day) and slow down when eating
5. When temptation hits, try an activity to distract for 5 min before just giving in.

Lori-sorry you had such a rough day yesterday :( I can certainly relate. HOpe things are better today.

Lori,

I think you asked about Brazil Butt a couple of days ago, I like it, I did a rotation with that and Insanity and my pants got looser!! He has some good abs workouts too, there is cardio and strength days too.

My way to handle eating issues is to 1: have something to really motivate me to want to be able to show off the definition. 2 is to keep all weaknesses out of my kitchen 3. when I eat out I need to know the menu and ways to make it as good as possible. But sometimes it is better not to go out. For instance the local mexican restaurant has a couple of good choices but they set that basket of chips and the salsa and queso on the table and I am done for. When I buy snacks and things for dh I try to choose stuff that I hate like Fig Newtons LOL If I make cookies for the grandchildren it is almost guaranteed I am going to eat half of the batch myself. I have tried the not depriving myself thing and I just gain weight that is not good weight. Eats today have been pretty much what was planned but since we went to Subway for lunch I got a roast chicken salad to replace the tuna on lettuce salad I was supposed to have in the TF 5 day inferno booklet. Yesterday would have been good but I bought Big Sky Granola(lost my head somewhere:() Needless to say it was gone before I went to bead.

Debbie, glad things worked out with the Hip Flexor today:D I am always affraid of Chiropractors too. My parents went to them all of the time and said they felt so good afterward. One of my DH friends was going to a local doctor for his shoulder and was given pain killers and meds along with physical therapy while it just kept getting worse. Finally he went to the local chiropractor who spotted his problem and he ended up having surgury on it and is fine now. So I guess the chiro here knows her stuff. I was noticing that Linda was missing again too. I believe she had said she was really busy last time she posted.

Theresa, I think the TF Sculpt workouts are good but I personally would not rely solely on the tubing for my strength workouts. I like them for an add on. Chalene does some really good moves with the tubing. I think I like the Upper and Lower 20's better than the full body ones. The abs are good. The 20 minute Core one uses tubing and she works you pretty well. The 10 minute Ab Class uses just body weight but will have you feeling those abs:) It has you in a v sit position quite a lot.

Lori, there are 17 total Turbo Fire workouts. 12 in the basic set and 5 in the advanced classes. It will be interesting to see what you come up with from the Terminators:) I hate feeling in a slump. Hopefully you can get out of it.

Cheryl, I posted above on the eating and my thoughts. BTW one of the great things when we used to go camping every weekend is that I only stocked healthy stuff in the trailer so that when I got out there I had no choice on what to eat :D We have Fit TV but I hardly pay attention to it. I believe most of the workouts are shortened versions of the originals??
When we had cable and not satellite we also had Free Zone and I picked up on some workouts there too. I tried some yoga workouts that I had wondered about.

Roselyn, I think that Turbo Fire is a great program. They all are intense. Even the two EZ workouts are up there. Although they do have the least amount of Turbo Fire Intervals in them. They are the ones that I feel are a little more "dancey" Not exactly sure how to describe that to you unless you have done Turbo Jam. Then you might know what I am talking about. There is some capoiera moves and she has you kind of shaking your hips while doing the punches etc.. They were both loads of fun. Then there are the ones they call the Fires which incorporate some of the intervals in them Fire 30 min has 2 fire drills(60 second interval blasts) in it spaced out through the workout, Fire 45 has 3 fire drills, Fire 60 has 4 60 second fire drills, these also have a finale that is up there as well.
Then there is the Hiit workouts 15, 20, 25, & 30 classes.
The 15 min class has 9 30 second interval blasts. This seems to move quickly even though the HR is way up there:D
The 20 min class has 7 45 second interval blasts, The 25 min class has 9 60 second interval blasts, the 30 min hiit class has 11 60 ssecond interval blasts.
I think these all pretty much allow 1 min recovery between the Hiit segments. Hiit moves are jacks, air jacks, sumo burpees, tuck jumps, quick feet, squat jumps, sumo touch the floor, ski, skater mover touching the floor punches added here and there, lunge jumps. These really get your HR up. They do have a modifier for less impact but I am sure after Insanity you wouldn't need that:D
The music is different in each one, the format is different in each, some moves are repeated or done a little differently. I find them high energy and fun myself:D I hope this helps.
