Had it once, now I want it back!

Before I lost weight, lets say that I had a big butt. But it had a nice shape. And everything was still up north. Well in the process of losing weight I lost this butt. I mean it went all away. I was hoping to lose some but not that drastic. It became very flat and I hated it. Now I have gained about 20 pounds which I am glad of, and I am getting more meat on my buns. What I need to know is there certain exercises that are good for this area to lift and tighten? Which of cathes leg tapes would be good.

Had a butt like J-lo back then when it was disgusting, and now that butts like that are the in thing I don't have it.


But I don't want a butt quite as big as hers now.

I can't believe I am discussing my a**. He!He!

Me too! I mean, I never had a butt, even when I was 30 lbs heavier. At the gym tonight one of the female trainers said your arms look great, but you need to add some size to your glutes & quads. I was like lady, I leg press 250 lbs, WTH do you want me to do? I would love to be a little shapelier. Sometimes genetics is a pain. x(
 
Darn maximus, girl you can legpress that much? I am impressed, because I would love to be able to that. I think I have strong legs, but I can't do that much weight. I would of told that lady to stick it! Yeah if I could just lift my butt alittle it would satisfy me.

Hi Ladies,

My butt used to be flat, or non existing, now I have raised it a little. At least it has some shape. I have used the Lotte Berk Method, High Round Assets, Killer Butt from Dolores Munos is good butt workout. From Cathe GS floor section and L&G, I alternate all of those workouts for the butt, and I work it three times a week.

The other day, I saw a guy that I dated years ago, and told me " what have you done, your butt looks great! I just said thank you, I have been working it very hard. I had never been complimented on my butt before, so I got a laugh out of it.
 
Maximus!! 250 lbs. leg presses.... I am in awe!!!

My butt is well... well endowed. I feel like it is shaping up some but I still have a layer of fat/cellulitis-looking stuff over it. I know, I know, cardio, cardio, cardio to burn the fat. This is the only area that is holding onto it fat stores for dear life. My thighs have finally began to shape up and they look smooth now which I never thought would be possible two years ago.

I just don't know if this fat layer will ever burn off my butt. Like one of the other posters said, genetics can be a pain. I think there is just so much you can overcome.

One of my goals for June, as Tammy reminded me with her resurrection of this thread last night, was to lose 1/2 inch off my hips. I am down 1/4 and still have 8 days to go.

Girl I have a waffle iron butt. If I get any kind of butt it will have dimples on it. I think I can't escape that horrible sight. I just want now to lift that sucker up. I lost so much weight that everything went south. The top of my legs under my buttocks has some dimples and I'm trying to work hard on that. And what is this crap like on the side of my legs that runs from under my buttocks? I don't know it it is called saddlebags, but it is fat lying there too. Maybe I should put working my legs 3x a week instead of two. I can't do cardio right now, so leg work is all I can do.

All you girls with no butt? You can have some of mine - I got some serious booty goin' on. Oh well, at least it's not flabby:p

In fact, as I was doing ME last night, those endless leg presses in particular, I yelled to my SO "you better appreciate this butt!!!".}(
 
Lunges and step-ups ("leg presses") are what you need. Maybe Cathe's
Legs & Glutes or whatever that workout is called.

I know what you mean, mine gets flat too if I stop working out. But as long as I get those lunges in, I'm okay. I just wasn't born to have a JLo butt. But I was born to have a Roseanne Barr midsection if I'm not careful. :(
 
Shelley, hopefully those lunges will build up my glutes so much it will push them out and smooth the cellulite.... :p .... grasping for straws here....

Kim, I think, in my situation, it is a matter of being 44 years old and having all those years behind me when I could care less about fitness, gaining weight, and not doing anything about it. I'm not sure if I this can ever be overcome, but I sure won't give up!!! My thighs look decent after two years, maybe in another two I'll have a smooth butt.

I wouldn't go back to my 20's for anything and start over. I like my 40's, the best decade yet. But I'd sure like to have my butt from back then and take care of it!!!
 
Hey ladies,

I can't do any standing leg workouts right now, so are the floor legs doing enough? All of cathes floor legs are mainly for inner and outer thigh. Am I missing something in one of them?

Oh goodness - you all want some booty? Take some of mine! PLEASE!!! I swear, there's my REAL butt, and then there's some parasitic J-Lo butt on TOP of my real butt. All I can say is thank goodness for the J-Lo butt trend, it's the only thing that allows me to remain somewhat sane about my rear end. The minute flat butts come into fashion, I'm in big trouble! ;)
 
I do lunges too--on the smith machine at 140 lbs. Also squats at 170 lbs. It's just no use. My a$$ is flat as a pancake & no matter what I do I just cannot add shape.

Guess you'll see what I'm talking about in a couple of weeks! ;-)
