H/W floor cleaner??

This is driving me crazy. I feel like I've tried everything but it seems like no matter what I use the h/w (very life-like laminant to be specific) the floors are STILL sticky after I've "cleaned" them. I've tried plain water but it just dulls the floor and leaves footprints, I've used the Shark, Bruce and other stuff.

Does anybody have any recommendations?

Cleaner for hardwood floors

My sister always used white vinegar with warm water. Her floors were always shiny and beautiful.

I use murphys oil soap. I mop my floors on my hands and knees tho. I mop an area then dry it with a soft cloth. They look good but hw floors drive me crazy, they are constant work to keep them nice! Pain!

I recently had 4 contractors out to give us estimates on refinishing our hardwood floors and I asked the same question. They all suggested using white vinegar and water. Plain and simple!

hard wood floors

My cleaning lady uses Murphy Oil & or white vinegar & water. She switches off, I have no idea why I just supply her tools.
The vinegar & water is also good for windows & pet odors

Hi Karen- good for pet odors! That is awesome!! My Bichon loves to pee on the couch & such - hopefully this will tame his very bad habit as well as truly clean my floors!
