Anyone ever double up on these vs. taking 3 days to do them all? Other than taking 2 - 3 hours, would you recommend it?

I once did the two upper body ones C&T and BSB on one day. I must admit that toward the end I didn't really feel like I was giving it my all.

I know I have read that it is best to keep strength training sessions to under an hour. Are you trying to fit them all in to a busy schedule?

Hi Noelle,
Thanks for the response. I've heard excellent things about gym styles, but to split on 3 nights is hard for me - I'd feel I was missing out on too much cardio. Unless I do cardio in morning and one of these at night?
Thanks again for your response.

I've done the timesaver for each of GS-CT and GS-BSB back-to-back and that's not bad at all. If if I tried to do both upper body workouts in their entirety, the 2nd workout would definitely suffer.

Doing GS-CT or GS-BSB with GS-Legs on the same day sounds more doable to me but even so my preference would be to split them up and do 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening.

*Ahem* In a fit of pure lunacy, I did all THREE Gym Styles workouts back to back. I started with C&T and ended with Legs. Full versions. To be honest, it wasn't all that bad, except it took me the entire morning. I had a protein shake in between BSB and Legs.

Yeah, but Shelly you are a maniac LOL. You don't count you are superhuman!! I had a hard time when I did BSB and C&T on back to back days. Just felt like I couldn't lift as heavy cause other muscles where too fatigued. I agree with the timesaver versions being a way to do it.

So I tried it. All three, started with legs first then BBS and then CT. Wow, killer workout. I do agree that I was pretty tired for the darn 72 push ups after working my back. I like the ideas of resting a bit in between and will try that next time so I'm giving the workout my all. I feel a lot like jello right now..... :) Should sleep well tonight to start a brand new work week!

Tygra! You did CT (gasp) LAST?!? If I were ever to join the insane ranks of you and Shelly and attempt all 3 in 1 day, you can be sure I'd do those nasty pushups FIRST. }( And since my legs are very strong I'd do them last for sure.

Hope you are able to move tomorrow!

Sue

Unless there is a combo of two timesavers that allow you to do both upper body workouts in about an hour, I wouldn't do it. Much more time than that on a weight workout, and I can't do my best on the last exercises.

Kathryn - I agree. On a normal day I tend to lose my focus and strength after an hour of weight training. *IF* however, I was feeling really, really strong that day - like maybe after coming back from a few days rest (ie. vacation) - I could see doing 2 GS w/o's back-to-back. I'd definitely listen to my body and see how I felt after the 1st w/o and 1st sets of the 2nd w/o though. ;-)

As for doing 3 in 1 day. . . I don't honestly think I'd attempt that!

Sue

holy canolis! That's quite a weight workout. If I want to do all the GS, I put together my full body mish mosh where I go all out on 3 exercises per body part. I don't think I could spend that long lifting and expect to carry my toddler later on ;) Take some much needed rest!

Let me clarify this by saying I've never actually done this. I'm just commenting on what I *think* I could do.

I have done CTX Upper and Leaner Legs back-to-back once though but it was tough! :p

Sue

I think the gym styles are too heavy/intense to do them back to back.

I've done the Pure Strength ones back to back before, and that is not a problem at all. If you were interested in trying to do more than an hour a day, you might consider PS instead of the gym styles.

I made it to today! Let me tell you that yesterday afternoon and evening I certainly felt a burn through the whole body - just used up and tired muscles. Today, surprisingly I feel pretty good, a bit sore in spots, a good sore. I forgot about the push ups and usually like to get the legs done first. If I'm ever that insane to do that again, I'll remember to do CT first.... but, I like the idea about doing something in the morning and these at night as the last workout was pretty tough and probably didn't benefit from it all I could. I think later this week, when it's strength time, I'll do Power Hour.:)

Sometimes I'll break it up over 2 days!

Day 1:CT+Legs Standing
Day 2: I'll do BSB+ Legs Floor work.

It really isn't too bad that way!

BTW Gym Styles are probably my very favorite Cathe workouts!

> I usually do
>chest, then legs , then back.

That's what I like to do as well (chest/tri on day 1, legs on day 3, back/sh/bi on day 5). My shoulders especially appreciate the rest, and I can give the big muscles (chest and back) their due.
