GS- Is once per week enough?

I haven't started the Gym Style workouts yet, but will start this weekend. Does Cathe say that once per week is enough for the 3 workouts? Thanks.

That's what I'm doing. I'm following a rotation modeled on P90X (which gave me great results), and that has us doing the three-day split with each workout once per week. Remember that if you are also doing Low Max, Kickmax and IMAX3, there's a lot of workk for the lower body in those. And the upper body gets worked in KickMax (especially if you put on weighted gloves--1#--for the first part of it).

P90X taught me that more rest is crucial for muscular development.

How is the P90X modeled rotation going? I started a P90X rotation but only finished 6 weeks of it but did see some improvement. I may have to look at that P90X modeled rotation again and see what I can do. I am doing a rotation for March but will need something come April : )

So far, so good. I just started the second week. For the "recovery" week, I think I'll stray from what I posted and use other instructors for some functional and core workouts (TLP's most likey), which I find to be a good idea to work on the stabilzing muscles.
 
I actually use them twice a week. I do both of them in one day. I did them yesterday and probably will do them tomorrow. On Saturday I'll do my new MM. I upped my weights in the past few weeks, and I like the result! Mari

You mean you do 2 of them in one day? Or all 3 of them in one day?
 
Sorry. GSCT and GSBBS. At first I did it because of time crunch, but now I actually like to do them on one day. It takes up a lot of time, specially with the longer breaks, but it just feels so good. Lately I do the push ups at the end, aiming for total "failure" -- falling right on my face with the last one... :) By doing push ups at the very end I have strenght to use heavy weights during lifting. Cathe had probably a different purpuse with the push ups at the beginning (pre-exhausting?) but this different order works just better for me. Mari
 
My "week" is nine days (in order to fit it all in), and I've been doing the three GS workouts along with MM during that nine-day period. I might sub HSC or one of the HC Extremes for MM every other "week."
