(((((GOT CHINUPS?)))))

Thank goodness today is over, I thought it would never end  Thankfully the schedule wasn't too crazy. I popped a pill when I got home

Judi, how'd the wedding go?

Linda, happy belated birthday!! I knew there was something I was forgetting this weekend. I hope you had a good day!!

Thank you Catherine. It was okay, nothing to get all excited about....well, except maybe new workout shoes!:p 2 pairs!

Okay, I switched things up a bit this week. I read an article this weekend that said you should never work arms the day before or after Chest or Back. So I did Back today and will do Arms later in the week.

Honestly, I don't think I really had any business working out this morning, throat is still really sore and it didn't take much to send my HR through the roof. I noticed during running between sets that I didn't have to work hard for my HR to rise, so being short on time and figuring easy cardio would be the way to go I finished with 4 DS LIS. Well, lets just say at the end of the combos my HR was nearing 170 and by the end of the blasts it was 181-182:eek: for low impact! But in the end, I am an idiot and don't know when to just stay in bed.

Today was Back. Quads are really sore from yesterday and traps are already feeling sore.:p

4DS HIS through first blast as warmup.

8 sets - 20 seconds on/10 seconds off.

Ran during 2 minute rest between each set.

BACK
Underhand/Overhand BB Rows:
45# - 8 sets/15-13 reps
**Alternated grip

Lat Pulldown:
2 15# Green tubes and 1 5# Red Tube together - 8 sets/11-9 reps
***Up 5# tube.

Dumbbell Pullover:
33# - 8 sets/9-7 reps
***These were killer they day after chest day!

T-Back Squeeze:
Purple Band - 8 sets/16-14 reps

Then did Combo/Blast 1 & 2 and Combo 3 from 4DS LIS.
Finished with stretch from 4DS LIS. Workout was 1:00 and burned 530 calories. (Saturday w/o was 1:09 and I only burned 466 calories)

Good news is that my throat is starting to feel better, it is not nearly as sore as it has been. :D Today was cardio and of course I could not wait to do Amy's Kickbox Surge this morning!:D I love that workout!:D Anyway, I did all 5 combos and surges and some of the ab work and stretch. Workout was 1:12 and I burned...get this...676 calories! WooHoo!

Linda, glad you are feeling better. Sounds like a tough w/o!

If I can muster up some energy I am going to do STS disc 16 chest shoulders and triceps. 75% of 1 RM with back of sets at the end

All I wanna do since my surgery is sleep. What's up with that???

Hey Ladies-

Sorry I've been MIA. The wedding went great and I had family from out of town staying with me all weekend. On Monday, I did disc 34 and really struggled, mostly on BP. WTH....the weights dropped back down to 85% of 1RM but the reps went up to 8. Anyhoo, I wake up Tuesday morning and was so dizzy I could hardly walk. After speaking with my doctor, he thinks it is vertigo and is treating me with allergy and dizziness meds. I'm actually better today but feel foggy, weak and really tired. So unfortunately, I will have to put my STS finale on hold until this passes. Sucks, but nothing else I can do. Imagine doing plyos when you can't even walk without hitting the walls:confused:

Catherine- How is STS going? Is your foot allowing you to do some of the standing work?

Linda- Did you have a nice birthday? I'm gonna come to your house and personally run your scale over with my car. Don't let it control you!! I'd give anything to be as strong and fit as you are.

Catherine - All I can say is that my Massage Therapist (whom I love) says that any surgery, however minor, is very invasive to the whole body. It's all connected. Hang in There!

Thanks Judi! Actually without realizing it, today I put on a pair of jeans that a couple of weeks ago I could not get on at all! :D Sorry to hear about your trouble with vertigo. My dad has that and I know it's know fun! And not to keep repeating myself but...my massage therapist says he has an 85% success rate of helping people get rid of their vertigo. Just suggesting that before you commit to taking meds all the time and waiting for it to be over, maybe you could look into some alternative methods of help.

BTW, my Pace Weights came today! Yippee! Look out Arm & Shoulder days!!!

You are right. I don't think I have the energy for STS tonight even modified. I will wait till either tomorrow or even Friday when I am off work.

Oh Judi, vertigo is the worst :( I hope you get some relief soon. Yes, I think it is wise to take a break from STS whilst you are dizzy

Catherine- Great numbers & workout! So how are you liking Meso 2? Are you skipping the leg workouts while your foot heals?

Linda- Let me know what you think of the pace weights. I have platemates and 1lb wrist weights but there were still a few times when I couldn't exactly match the weight I needed to.

I'm feeling much better today, a little foggy but no longer dizzy. I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow and try to get disc 36 done. I'll probably have to skip the last plyo cuz I'm waiting to christen my new STS t-shirt and want to do it now!;)

Catherine - how's the foot?

I am humbled by Meso 2. As you can see I had to drop my bench press wt and still didn't make the targert reps :( I like it though-very challenging. And my arms are looking good- more cut:eek: I think it's the shoulder work. No leg w/o for me. I am not sure when that'll happen. For now just upper body. I hope to get on the stationary bike tomorrow after the stitches come out.

Yes, definitely humbling. I experienced the same thing with some days keeping up with the weight and other days hitting failure early. I actually found Meso 3 a little easier even though the weights are higher. The rest periods are longer and the exercises are done in a push/pull manner so you are not frying out one muscle group before you move on to the next. I'll be curious what you think........
