Goodbye Desperate Housewives, hello Sopranos!

No contest whatsoever.

I was actually thinking through the first 45 minutes of last night's show that boy, for a premier this is kinda boring. But during the last 15 minutes I think I said holy $hit & OMG about 10 times! That poor guy hanging himself--I felt so bad for him! Why couldn't Tony just let him retire & live in peace? (although I was wondering why, if he had to commit suicide, he did it where his wife and little girl would find him, instead of shooting himself in a car on the Verazzano Bridge or overdosing in the Meadowlands parking lot)

And Uncle Jr. shooting Tony--shocking, but I couldn't help laughing. They were talking about putting the old dude in an assisted living community. I'm thinking it'll now be a home for the criminally insane.

Man, I have so missed this show! :)

Laura, I know...didn't you love it?!! I've really missed this show too...Tony being shot was a real shocker...I'm thinking the next few shows are going to be all about power struggles while he's in the hospital...since I can't even IMAGINE them killing him off in the show...he IS the show!! And yeah...that hanging was pretty gruesome!

Edited to add...did you catch "Big Love" after Sopranos? That one looks really good too...very different, to say the least! lol

I think I'm gonna skip Big Love. Polygamy kinda pi$$es me off. It seems a bit misogynistic--how come men can have multiple wives but women can't have multiple husbands?x(

Anyway, this is supposedly the Sopranos last season, & I'm pretty sure it's true. I'm thinking Tony will be killed off at the end. If he is, who will take control? All of his "captains" are such clowns, I can't imagine any of them taking his place.

Oh, & how much did you love the little cameo at the beginning w/Dre DeMateo? She was my very favorite character, I really miss her. I was shocked at first, b/c they never actually showed her getting shot & of course the show Joey isn't working out, so I was really really hoping for her return.

I loved, loved, loved it! The last fifteen minutes had me on the edge of my seat cursing up a storm!

Laura, your title to this tread is perfect...I'm bidding goodbye to Desperate Housewives!

Tammy,

You are so funny. I was cursing up a storm too! By dogs were looking at me like I was crazy! As soon as I heard the theme music, I was charged. I have so missed the Sopranos. I'm still morning over the "loss" of Sex and the City so I'm so glad this is back on.

By the way I tapped DH and it wasn't that great!

I really miss Drea as well. I kept hoping she really didnt die. Her fiance does not seem to be sad that she had to be taken out. When the season opener started, I had a really hard time following it. I didnt even recognize some of the characters. I am glad the action picked up as it did seem a little slow. A lot of old episodes are like that, very little going on at one time. I don't know why I like it so much.

I loved the first episode. I don't think this season will disappoint. I didn't foresee Tony being shot by Junior. I was stunned. I'm looking forward to the next episode. I opted for the Sopranos over the Housewives as well.

I think I was saying the exact thing during the last 15 minutes. My jaw was on the floor and I just kept repeating "no way...no way....no freakin way....."
The last season was realllllyyyyyy slow and I was expecting that this season until the last few episodes, but then bam, Tony goes down.

I can't wait for this Sunday.
I also watched Big Love and it was interesting, I think I might give it a shot.
Still sad no more Carnivale, I loved that show. So wacky, but great actors!
