Good News/Bad News for my BIL...

Hi Everybody,

First thank you for all the prayers! It means so much to me. I feel like there is nothing I can do for him, except pray for God to help him.

Anyway, he saw the neurosurgeon yesterday and the good news is that they are not worried about the masses in his brain. They just want another MRI in the next year to make sure they haven't changed. The bad news is that they gave my BIL the exact answer he did not want to hear- they have no idea what is causing the pain(which actually a burning sensation) in the back of his head and neck along with some numbness on his right side and to go home and live with it!

This man is in so much pain he can't even think on a daily basis, because he focusing too much on blocking it out. And again he has a high tolerance for pain so if he it hurting, its bad. My BIL has an awful job and hasn't been given a raise in a least 13 years, but his insurance cost keeping going up, well a few month ago he was offered a new job and had to turn them down because he new he couldn't focus on learning something new with all the pain. Now he's stuck at his job, who is givening him a hard time for all the doctors appointments, and the pain.

We will probably not be able to get him to another doctor, because he didn't like them to begin with. I am sure this just reinforces his dislike.

Thanks for listening and please keep praying that God will show us how to help him.

Linda

Thank you for the update. I am so sorry that your BIL is struggling with this and I will continue to pray for him. :)

Sorry to hear about your BIL's pain, Linda.

At the risk of sounding stupid, has anyone ever looked into the possibility that this is tension headache / migrane caused by stress. I am just saying this because many years ago I was in a job that I hated. I went to my doctor with excrutiating and constant headaches. They ran a gazillion tests including CT Scans, etc. just to find NOTHING. Fortunately, I had a doctor who was thinking a little outside the box and asked me about my life and my job. Her prescription was, find another job, do relaxation exercises, Yoga, Meditation, etc. and increase your Magnesium intake to 600 mg per day.

To make a long story short, the headache stayed until I quit that job and started a new one, about 4 weeks after I started my new job, the headache was gone.

I am no expert but I know a lot of men suffer from tension headaches. Might be worth looking into.

Just my two cents.

Take care,

Carola

I continue to remember your BIL in prayers. Doesn't life seem so unfair at times? I hope he finds a way to deal with all of this and that the pain problem is solved.
