Viva Las Vegas! You are coming to my town, happy anniversary!:7 I personally would try and visit places you cannot go to at home...
Depends on where you are staying? Every hotel has great restaurants-the Mirage is one of the exceptions I think-wasn't too thrilled with the choices there. But catch Danny Gans if you have time, well worth the $$.
The Wynn has a great Chinese type restaurant called "Red". Delicious.
The Paris has a great buffet, but they have an outdoor/indoor place called Moni Me Gabi. Its great, my DH and I go every Sunday for a late lunch. They have a bloody Mary bar for Sunday brunch as well. We used to sit outside until it got too hot!
Tao(sushi,Japanese cusine) in the Venetian is good and trendy too. I would suggest lunch instead of dinner--too hard to get in, you should see the lines there at night. They also have a Spago in the Venetian Canal shoppes.
The Forum shops are fun, there is Joe's Stone Crab (yummy), The Palms Restaurant (very good steaks and a great wine list), Spago (not so good, but maybe we ordered the wrong thing.) There is an Italian place next to one of the fountains-do not remember the name but its great. They also have the Stage Deli, my DH is Jewish, so he loves the corn beef sandwhiches and egg creams.
The Bellagio has its famous buffet-really worth the money. The seafood you can get there is amazing, plus the Bellagio is fun to visit-the shops are expensive but its fun to browse anyway! Oh, and skip the "Olives" restaurant...its ok, not great.
The Stratosphere has the "Top of the World" restaurant that is supposed to be very good, plus the views are breathtaking.
The Capital Grille at Fashion Show Mall is great, for lunch (get the burger) or dinner.
Off the strip, there is a place called the "Golden Steer", it is famous for having catered to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Betty Grable, Dean Martin, etc...its 'old Vegas" and the steaks are incredible. Its on the corner of Las Vegas blvd and Sahara.
It will probably be hot when you are here-it is well over 100 degrees right now, so keep that in mind. It is a dry heat, but its still too hot to really think about walking too much outside. Carry tons of water with you...have a great time!
