How have you GWF people faired with the new BodyMedia change? It looks great, but when I try to sync my armband I get a "server error". Is anyone else having this problem?

So far I like it. I got an error the first time I tried to sync the armband, but got a message to unplug it and plug it in again. It's worked just fine since then. As the other poster said, you do need to download the software -- I hope that's just what the problem is for you.

A couple of things I noticed about entering meals is that there is now a dropdown box of so many more choices of food measurements. I was pretty tired of having to keep a metric converter window open on the computer screen while I was trying to enter a lot of the foods. The not-as-convenient thing I've noticed is that when you enter something generic like "olive oil" that the plain ole olive oil listing is way down after composite foods and some brand names. That's not as convenient. But I'll survive.

One thing I had requested and I was really hoping would roll out with this upgrade was a fiber listing for each food. Fiber shows in the daily summary, so I can't see why they couldn't list it along with the calories, carbs, fat, etc.

I have an iMac and I use the Safari browser and it worked fine for me. I didn't have to sync anything -- I guess that was just for PC users? And I used to have a warning in red that my browser was not compatible but that is gone now.

It is working great for me. Visually its much better and alot faster on my PC. There are some interesting new features, including in the goals section. It now allows you to get a more accurate goal for calories consumed and burned by filling in your results for the last 30 days in connection to your exercise level (ie, heavy workouts 6-7 days a week, lost 5 or more pounds) then works with your actual daily averages and calculates a new number. For me it will be a better goal based in reality. The targets on calories burned were always a bit too high to reach even with double workouts and a full day of activity.

Thanks for the replies, ladies. Please keep talking about what you like/dislike about the new interface. That's interesting.

Like Michele, I have an iMac, and that software is for PCs. Mind you, I downloaded it before I realized that :p. Michele, what browser are you running it on? I'm using Safari 4.0.3. with Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Sandra, I'm running it on Safari 4.0.4 with Mac OS X 10.5.8. I don't quite remember when I last updated the browser because I prefer Mozilla and I really only use Safari for GWF. Gosh Sandra, I hope you get this straightened out soon! Good luck!!

I guess my issue is that the display no longers syncs exactly with the armband. When I upload to the computer, it says I've burned a lot less calories than the display says I have.

I hadn't discovered this feature yet -- I'll definitely want to check it out. Thanks!

Good news! I attempted to sync my armband last night, and it worked! I didn't do anything, and customer service never replied to me :)mad:), but obviously something got changed on their end, because my data uploaded without a problem.

MJ - I hadn't seen that about the "goal" setting, either. I'll check it out!

Morningstar - It's not syncing accurately now? Oooh, that's not good! Mine synced up within about 30 calories of what the display said, and I think the difference is attributed to the Activity Manager estimating a few extra calories for when I wasn't wearing the armband (showering). It has an automatic feature that does that. Could that explain your difference?

I'm finding that the nutrition software runs smoother; the "search" function seems to have been improved. And like someone else said, they offer more measurement options than just "grams" or "fl. ozs".

Morningstar, I have noticed the same thing!! Yesterday my burned calories were 230 higher on my display than what uploaded when I sync'd my armband. My steps and activity were higher as well. I sent an e-mail to Body Media this morning but haven't heard back from them yet. I didn't have this problem before the upgrade . . .
