Ok - this is a rather odd situation, but Catheites are good for so many ideas so here goes.
My mom works with a lady who has an operable brain tumor. The lady is in her 50's, is an avid exerciser, and is very petite - like a size 4. The surgery to remove the tumor will be an 8-10 hour process, and the potential ramifications could run from none (she'll be completely normal with no residual effects), to hearing loss, facial paralysis, and a host of others. This lady is scared beyond words (can't imagine who wouldn't be.)
Post op she will be off work for about 3 months, and for about the first 6-8 weeks, she will have difficulty with balance and dizziness.
Mom wants to get this lady SOME kind of gift/show of support, but is at a loss for ideas. Do you all have any thoughts? (Told you it was an odd situation.) TIA
