Getting it done for JULY!!!

Nice job on Cycle Max Belinda! :) Enjoy your day!

I am finished too with Afterburn. PHEW! Did it all! :)

Tomorrow is IMAX 2 but I may change that due to having so much leg work today and
yesterday.

Sherry and Karen: What are your plans for today?

Off to shower and work.

Hey Everyone,

I haven't checked in for what seems like forever. Alot has been going on I guess. DH's kayaking trip was cut short due to lack of water in the river. Then he decided to fly out to Colorado for a few days to visit a old friend, that same day my mom was going to fly out of Milwaukee to visit my sisters out west. Unfortunately on the way out the door to drop everyone off at the airport my mom lost her balance/tripped?? and fell down backwards head first down our basement stairs. She is ok minus bumps and bruises everywhere, but she didn't break anything. Needless to say she wasn't about to jump on a plane after that so she had to cancel her trip. My DH still went on his trip though so I had a couple of days alone. When he got back this weekend we've been busy with yard work. Yesterday he bought me a mountain bike. (scary as I have never been mountain biking). We went to Lapham Peak to cycle gopro laphampeak 001.MP4 - YouTube <---this is a video of the park trails there. The hills at 4:14, 5:08, and 15:10 were scary and fast! I did go in the pickers on the 15:10 hill, but didn't fall off - just took a shortcut!

Yesterday I also did GS Back, shoulders, and biceps.

The lady that gave me a massage last week said I have a muscle in my UB that runs up my neck that feels like a cord. No doubt that is the muscle causing my pain in the neck. ;) DH and I are going in for a couples massage on Saturday - I am going to trying the massage cupping and see if that helps with the "cord" issue. Will keep you posted. Who wouldn't want to get more massages anyway, right? :)

Great job with keeping up with your workouts everyone!

Has anyone gotten any rain by them? We are now under a water restriction....

Just 4 more weeks of summer school. Can't wait for it to be over!

Talk soon!

Karen

Hi all!

First, wo updates:
-Got started late last night, so many things to do once I got home from work, so DS and I only did half of P90X CST and no abs - not sure we are exactly motivating one another, but had some nice DOMS when we both got up this morning, so at least worked it some.
-tonight was a run night - should have been sprint intervals, but legs were tight and heavy - would have thought all that walking last week would have helped some!
-new wo's were here waiting for me, but haven't had a chance to try them yet. however, I am traveling this week, so maybe while I'm killing time at the airport, I can preview them. Looking forward to seeing what's in them that she showed us at the RT.
-and then she comes out with a new series! Really . . . just how many do any of us "need"?

Belinda - Glad you are enjoying Florida! Some hotels do have wonderful fitness equipment! Maybe that elliptical will be waiting for you when you get home. :)

Heidi - Looks like you are enjoying the DOMs quite a bit, lately. :D And you've been so good about your wo's while we've all laxed a bit. Keep up the great work! Tried a new recipe tonight that you might like - Spicy Pesto Chicken (see below) - very tasty. Always need new ways to make chicken.

Karen - so sorry about your mom. Thank goodness she didn't break anything. Maybe you'll just have to keep getting those massages since you are under so much stress with work, school, and everyone else's trips. ;)

Spicy Pesto Chicken

1 tsp. ground pepper
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
1 Tbsp. Pesto sauce
1/4 c. finely chopped parsley
1.5 pounds chicken

Mix all the ingredients together, then rub all over the chicken, and throw on the grill.

Long day tomorrow - one of those one day trips for work, so heading to bed now. Hope you had a good one.

Morning to you all!

Karen! Oh my gosh your poor Mom! So glad to hear that she didn't break anything! Very lucky.
How cool! A new bike. :) I will checkout your link to see what you got your self into. ;)
How did you feel after? Nice job on GS! :)
No rain for a bit here either but not on retrictions just yet. Keep my fingers crossed for ya!
YEAH! a school break is coming your way soon. Any plans for your time off?

Hi Sherry! Nice job on the p90X doms. :) Have a great interval run! Oh even better....enjoy the viewing of the new w/o's! I will be starting on those next week.
Have a safe trip!
Thank you for the recipe! Sounds yummy! :)

Today was cyclemax. OOF! Wow my legs are like rubber now! LOL! This week has been some really hard challenges:
M: STS TB
T: Afterburn (added a 2 hour hike with my sons yesterday afternoon)
W: Cyclemax
Tomorrow's plan: High Reps
Fri: AT! LOL not sure if I will make it.

Belinda: How are you doing? :) Enjoy the rest of your stay in Florida!

Off to shower and work. Have a great one!

Hi all!

WO done! Tonight was P90X BB plus ARX with DS. I love working back and biceps, and ARX felt great. Now if I could reduce that fat layer covering up those abs I'm developing!

Heidi - That is a one heck of a wo schedule for the week. Great calorie burn if you don't collapse first! The chicken tasted good, and was so easy (I used pre-made pesto sauce).

Karen - Hope things look like they are easing up a bit with DH back home.

Belinda - enjoy your vacation!

Need to start ramping up the running, so hopefully the weather will cooperate otherwise I'll need to become a morning runner - which I don't exactly excel at right now.

Catch up with you all later. Hope you had a good one.

Morning!

Today's plan: High Reps!

Surprisingly I can move today. HAHA! A little sore but not enough to keep me from workingout.

Sherry: Great job on your workout last night! :)
I hear ya on the heat...we are back in it and rising for the next 4 days. When is winter? LOL! Never satisfied unless the temps are in the 60-70's range. ;)

Your recipe looks very easy and I have everything to make it....maybe tonight. :)

Hey to Karen and Belinda! :)

Off to get it done! Make it a good one!

Hi all!

Woke up with the most wonderful DOMS this morning, but they are now long gone.

Not sure if I mentioned that I was traveling again. Had to get to the airport before the sun rose, and decided to go out to neat with a coworker rather than run cause it's gloomy and rainy outside, so decided I could use the rest day.

Heidi - how are you moving? I bet you'll have some great DOMS stiffness in the a.m.! The recipe is so easy - will take you 5 min to prepare - that's about my patince in the kitchen (unless I'm baking, which I definitely won't do in summer).

Hi Belinda & Karen!

Catch up with you tomorrow.

Morning!

Sherry: Hope you have a safe trip! I am joining you in a rest day for today. I might do a yoga w/o but haven't decided just yet.
DOMS wise I am actually ok.. ? Feeling tightness in upper body and my calves from the calf raises. But ok otherwise.

I ended up going to check-out a farmers market to see what they were carrying. Not too impressed. ;) Maybe towards end of the month or next they will have a better selection and quality.
Dinner ended up being left-overs which of course leaves room for making some batches of crock-pot meals for the up coming week. ;)

Belinda: How are things going? Are you back?

Karen: You must have quite the work load for school. Hope you find some time for yourself. :)

That's about it for today. Just housestuff and errands

Have a good one!

Hi all!

Rest Day #2 here. I flew home today, had to get some work done when I got back, then we decided to go see Brave and head to the Original Pancake House for dinner. And since it's Friday, the Big Apple was on discount. Lot of excuses - not sure which ones are valid. Oh, and I forgot, it's hot out, too.

I actually have bicep DOMs from Wed's wo. Don't usually get those. Kind of nice for a change?

Heidi - You've been going at it pretty good lately, so I'm sure the rest day was well deserved.

Belinda and Karen - hope all is well!

I'll get back with it tomorrow. See ya at the gym!

Hey Everyone,

All I have to say is, I can't wait for DH to go back to work so we can get back on our regular schedule!

My mom is doing alright. I guess earlier this week she had bruising develop down her whole left leg and could barely stand or walk she was in so much pain. So she went back to the doctor. They took xrays and didn't find anything broken. They gave her some pain pills and told her to keep her feet elevated. She thinks she went out to the barn to milk cows too soon and that is what contributed to the leg issue - hopefully thats the case. I'll be checking in on her again in a few days.

My workouts this week have been spotty. Tuesday night we went for a 15mile family ride with a few other people down one of our local trails. Wednesday - no workout. Thursday night I did GS Chest and Triceps (feeling the doms today...). This morning I did To the Max (loved it!). (does anyone else have these? What do you think of them? Will anyone will ordering Xtrain? I know I have enough DVD's as it is, but I can't pass up the deal on them...) :)

Tonight DH and I took our bikes downtown for Friday Night Live (they close off the streets and have a bunch of bands playing). We did stop for a hot dog and some ice cream :) Then had to ride our bikes back to our place. It was a fun time.

Tomorrow DH and I have massages scheduled in the afternoon to round up his vacation. Going to try this Massage Cupping technique to see how that works on my back and neck. Has anyone heard of this technique? I youtubed it and it looks....interesting.... :p

School is just wonderful. Have a woman in our group that is a slacker and really ticking me off! Have to write a paper this weekend at some point....

Sherry - Have you gotten any rain by you? It rained for a few minutes here but not enough to matter...

Heidi - What do they have at your farmers market? We have quite a bit here at our farmers markets.

Belinda - HOw is your DH?

Morning,

I am still in Vero Beach FL:eek: I will be home tomorrow evening. I will start a new rotation Monday. Going to Sahvanna GA tonight;)

I think I will order Cathe's 10 new DVDs:D Who is ordering?

Good job, on your workouts girls! BB on Monday! I will catch up on persoanls~

HI! Happy Saturday! :) I hope your all keeping cool. It is pretty hot here and will be for the next 5 days. Ozone Alerts for air quality as well.
No rain here but might get something tomorrow. Not holding my breath..they are always usually wrong.

Sherry: Glad your back and nice job on the bicep DOMS. :) HAHA! Don't we all have some sort of excuse now and then. ;) I hope the movie and food was good. :)
What's your plan for this weekend?

ARGH! Another series.... although the price for the presale can't be beat. :/

Karen: Your bike rides sound like fun! :) I wish I had someone to go biking with too. :)
The new series sounds interesting for the fact the workouts are shorter for us busy gals.
I looked up some rotations for an STS undulating weight training (under rotations in the workout manager by christosz. Just add your own cardio on off days) and the Jan. STS/LIS transformation fits that type as well.
Let us know what your thoughts are on the cupping massage. I hope it doesn't hurt! I saw it done on TV and wasn't too sure about it..... ;)

Hey Belinda! Enjoy the rest of your vacation in Florida and GA. :) Catch up with you on Monday.

Well no workout Friday...just housework and errands. Today about the same so far....

Sherry: I haven't made that recipe just yet but did just put together some chicken thighs with a ginder-soy sauce. Smells just like something you would find at the restaurant. YUMMY!

Brown 8 boneless/skinless chicken thighs in olive oil about 5min per side. Keep warm in bowl.
mix 1/2 cup ginger preserves, 2Tbls low sodium soy sauce and 2 garlic cloves, minced. Pour into pan you cooked the chicken thighs.. but dump extra left over oil first. ;) cook stirring often for about 2 min. until thickened. Stir in thighs to coat and your done.
Serve with brown rice and veggies of choice.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi all!

Finally got moving today - 2 mile run with 1 mile dog walks before and after and finished with STS ExStretch. Lets felt much better on this run than a few days ago.

Hot here, too, and no rain, though we might get a few drops tonight - looks like most of it will be south of us.

Karen - I now what you mean by routine. It's so much easier to get everything done if there is a routine, especially fitting in exercise. Hope your mom doesn't push it and can heal up.

Belinda - I know you are enjoying your relaxation!

Heidi - Another chicken recipe - thanks! I think I could easily do it with breasts - not a fan of dark meat. Did you do a wo or have another rest day today?

I need to try the newest wo's before I considering ordering new ones! Maybe that will be my plan tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good one. See you tomorrow.

Morning...or should I say afternoon. ;)

Sherry: Great job on your run! You just reminded me of that stretch I should add in later tonight...my left hip flexor keeps sort of locking up. Must just be from uneven muscle tension.

I didn't get in a workout yesterday. Today I did a 25min cycle workout, ab circuits PH 6min and then Yoga relax premix-#1. Yoga was ok...just didn't hit the hips all that well.

Making a veggie dish to eat over next four days at lunch. :) Curried Sweet Potato & Lentil Soup.

BY: Prevention
Healthy Vegetarian Recipes: 5 Fast, Easy Meatless Meals

Curried Sweet Potato & Lentil Soup

WORK TIME: 10 MINUTES / TOTAL TIME: 45 MINUTES / SERVINGS: 4

2 Tbsp canola oil
1 medium onion, roughly chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp minced fresh ginger
2 Tbsp curry powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 c dried lentils
1 qt unsalted vegetable stock (we used Kitchen Basics) or water
1 can (14 fl oz) light coconut milk (we used Thai Kitchen Lite) or 1 1/2 c stock or water
1 lb sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2" chunks
1 small zucchini, roughly chopped
1/2 c green beans cut into thirds
1/2 c chopped cilantro or fresh parsley

1. HEAT oil in deep frying pan or medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and cook 1 minute longer. Stir in curry powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, until powder is darkened and fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes.

2. STIR in tomatoes and lentils. Add stock and coconut milk. Bring to a boil. Partially cover and reduce heat to low so soup bubbles gently.

3. COOK, stirring occasionally, until lentils begin to soften, about 15 minutes. Stir in potatoes and more stock or water if mixture looks dry. Cover and cook about 10 minutes. Stir in zucchini and green beans, adding more water if needed to keep everything brothy. Cover and cook until lentils and all vegetables are tender, 5 to 10 minutes longer. Stir in cilantro and salt and black pepper to taste.

Good morning!

Realized that I didn't post yesterday . . . Wo included a run (2 miles) followed by TBS Basis Stretching only. DS and I also did P90X CST & ARX. Plenty o' calories burned! Needed 'cause yesterday was National Ice Cream day, so of course had to partake. Other than morning stiffness, not strong DOMS.

Tonight's plan is YogaMax - will enjoy the stretch!

Heidi - thanks for another recipe. Didn't try the first one yet. Looks like you are doing better than me for clean eating. What are your wo plans today?

Belinda and Karen - hope you are staying cool.

Have a good one!

Quick check in: got back from GA last night. This morning we drove Aleisa to the airport. She is picking up my son from El Paso and helping him clear his appartment. Soon I will have the house full again:eek:

After dinner DH and I will go for a nice long walk with the dogs. That's all I will do today, I am excusted from driving. We had a blast in Vero Beach. We stayed at Gloria Estefan Resort& Spa Vero Beach Hotels: Gloria Estefan's Costa d'Este Resort Vero Beach Central Florida FL Luxury Oceanfront Hotel Rooms Packages Spas Suites Specials Romantic Getaways Family Vacations Discounts Weddings Meetings Events. We had a suite....amazing:eek:

We ended up staying for FREE (1 night) plus 2 breakfast at the Hyatt hotel right on the river in Savannah, Ga:p when DH and I arrived the bathroom and compode had crap in it (if you know what I mean:() I was so upset, the Hyatt isn't cheap:( at $400 a night, I want a clean bathroom/bed. DH went and saw the manager, he said he will take $100 off! WTH? They did sent someone up to clean the bathroom and the girl felt bad. DH took a shower, he likes hot showers:D noticing on the mirrow saying " I will kill you:mad::eek: I couldn't believe that! Tell you, how the cleaing team cleaned, right? when we checked out in the morning, we got ask how we liked our stay:mad: I told the lady at the check out 'that was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed and I wasn't happy at all.I told her I would never stay at any Hyatt Hotels ever again. She called one of the managers (he was the manager for the cleaning crew!!) He gave us an option off a free night stay at another hotel or clear our pill. Of course, so we ended up not paying anything. I wouldn't stay in a Hyatt Hotel if the give me 5 nights for free:)

BBL or tomorrow?

Hi Sherry! Great job on your run and weight workout! :)

No workout for yesterday.

Today was a mix:

LIS Tri Upper Body: I did one round of exercises for each set

CRF: Premix Less Impact but skipped that last set of Low Impact Cardio Tabata and bonus core because I was wiped! Did that tabata already anyway in the beginning of this premix too. ;)

STS: Extended stretch. FELT AWESOME AND WELL NEEDED

Belinda: Welcome Back! :)

Karen: How are you doing? Cooling down there? Any rain? Still just as hot here and no rain to speak of. Hope your hanging in there!

BRB Off to read other posts.

Hey Belinda: So sorry about the nightmare hotel stay. I stayed up in Canada in a hotel that was disgusting and the room was strong of smoke and tar. Made me sick to the stomach! The pool was so heavily chlorinated that the whole first floor was like walking into a chemical wash. It definitely pays to get recommendations on places for sure!
Glad that your home safe and sound. Oh Wow! A full house again. :)

Enjoy your rest and catch up with ya soon. :)

Have a great evening!

Heidi - can't believe hotels do that? how do they stay open:eek: bets me! Good job on your UB wo yesterday.

Sherry - good job on your weight and run workout.

Karen - must be busy?

Today is cardio, not sure what I end up doing? Yesterday I looked through the rotation forum, can't decide on a rotation:eek:

Did you guys ordered Cathe's new 10 DVD's? I will order as soon:D maybe I get CF and To the Max too? Still not sure, about those:eek::eek: If you order, do you get the DVD or downloads? I will get the 10 DVD's plus the downloads.

Tomorrow my elliptical is coming. I am so excited.

I will be back later. Have a great workout, girls!
