***Getting Back in the Game, 3/7***

Hellooooooooo!!!

How are ya!? Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. I've had a terrible cold -- I still have it but it's better. I'd be so happy if this blasted cough and runny nose would GO AWAY!!!

I'm DONE with that 1RM business :D!!! It feels so good to have it out of the way. I'm so excited to start STS on Monday! I modified the program just a bit to suit my current needs. It's been several months since I've done any weight training so I'm extending the endurance portion of the program to 8 weeks, and leaving the other mesocycles at 4 weeks. I hope this will get my tendons and ligaments warmed up for the heavier lifting. ;)

I still need to schedule my cardio/stretch workouts in the calendar. I'll be using CC for most of my cardio with an occasional step workout thrown in for good measure.

So what's everyone else up to?

Ciao for now! I'm going to take a wee nap, and then I need to shower and get ready for my date night with DH. We're going out to dinner! :D

Y'all have a GREAT day!!

Hi Michele! I started a weekend thread here earlier today, but it got pushed down to the second page, so I guess you didn't see it. I will re-post mine here. Glad you're feeling better, and WTG on getting the 1RMs done!! Hope you're having fun on your date night!!

Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Went to the doctor yesterday about my wrist. I have a ganglion cyst, which he attempted to puncture, but I'm not entirely convinced he did successfully. He thinks he did. At any rate, it apparently only works about 30% of the time. He recommends that I give it a couple of weeks to see if it goes away, and then if it's still a problem, he can go in and remove it for me. That procedure is almost always successful, but it's more invasive, with a longer recovery. So we'll see how it goes. Right now it does hurt a bit, probably from what he did yesterday, but not much more than before. I think I'll be able to go back to doing weights in a couple of days, but probably no pushups or planks for a while (putting weight on it while it's bent hurts, but if I hold it straight it doesn't hurt at all.) But maybe it's good to have an excuse not to do pushups or planks!:p

I did IMAX2 yesterday for IMAX Friday. I was very happy with how it went. Today I'm planning to do Squeeze, probably just lower body/abs. Even though the weights are light for upper body I'm not sure my wrist is ready. It's been a long time since I've done that workout; I'm not sure I remember it that well. [ETA--I did do squeeze today...it was harder than I remembered!!]

Diane - Hope your cold is better soon! I know what you mean about not being able to workout while all stuffed up. I hate that feeling.

Michele - I hope you're feeling better soon also! I hope you felt well enough to do step yesterday. [ETA--WTG on stepping yesterday Michele!]

Robin - Your asparagus sandwiches sound great! It's making me hungry just reading the description! Hope you have fun this weekend on your trip!! I am also excited to meet Michele (and see you again too!) on the RT!

Dana - How are you liking STS? I've heard so many great things from people. I can't wait to start...hopefully DH and I can fix our injuries and get healthy enough to do it!! You should consider a Cathe RT, even if you're shy...there are enough of us extroverts who will walk up to anyone and start a conversation that you would still meet a lot of great people.

Mary - I wish I could sew. My mom used to sew from time to time, but I never really learned. I can sew on a button and hand stitch small holes, but I can't work a sewing machine. I'm sure my older DD would love to learn as well. My DH also likes swimming. He often works out at the gym, but it's nice when we can work out together at home.

Great job on the workouts ladies! And for those who are not feeling well, hope you're all better soon!!

Good morning everyone!

I was going to do a Cardio Coach workout this morning but my iPod was dead. That's 2 weeks in a row now that I let my iPod completely discharge. I hate when I do that . I'll probably just take this as a rest day because I won't have time to workout later. We're taking dinner to my MIL tonight and I'll be busy the rest of the day. I'm starting STS tomorrow and I'm excited about it!!! STS is going to take me almost right up to the Road Trip -- my last workout will be July 10. I'm really happy about that because I should be in very good physical condition for the RT.

Jodi!! - I looked for a weekend thread and I totally missed yours! I hope I hope I hope you don't need any further procedures to remove the ganglion cyst. Eech, ouch, ooch -- the thought of doing push ups with a ganglion cyst in my wrist makes me hurt just thinking about it. I'm sending many healing and pain-be-gone vibes your way! And the same for your DH and his broken rib. I hope you two can get started on STS soon, and I'm SO jealous that your DH is doing it with you. ;)

Dana, Robin, Diane, and Mary -- I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! I'll try to check back later to see if anyone is around. I'll definitely let you know my impressions after my first STS workout tomorrow! :D
