Good Morning Gals:)

Today was S&H chest and back and abs. I also did 3 chinups and 3 neg. pullups:7 I tried a regular pullup, but couldn't do it.:( yet! I got to use my platemates and slanted risers today! fun!!

Sorry for the mix up yesterday. It was a run around, always 2 steps behind kinda dayx( x( Hopefully today will be better.

Gin~ Did you get to finish S&H back? How was Imax 2? After Imax 3 it must have been a breeze;-)

Marcy~ I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!!Marc Blanchard today? The scallops you made sound really good- could you please post the recipe? TIA:)

Stats:
bench press: 2sets 30#/8 reps, 1 set 31.25#/7 reps
chest flys: 3 sets @ 21.25#
incline bench: 30#/6reps, 27#/6 reps, 25#/8reps (my chest was shakin' by now!!}(
incline flys: 15#/8 really concentrated on form, tried 20# for 2 reps and couldn't finish.
Pushups: figured I would try, didn't care if I could or couldn't do them, but ended up doing them all}( }( :7 !!

DB row: 20#/8reps,2sets 17.7/8reps
DB pullover: 3 sets 20#/8 reps
deadlifts: 1set 25#/8, 2 [email protected]/8 reps

It was a great workout, and I also really enjoyed just working out 2 muscle groups. I didn't take any extra time for breaks, but next time I think I may need to. I'm lifting pretty heavy and I think I need to rest more inbetween. I did drink a lot of water though!!

meals:
before workout: sm. handful of almonds
bfast: protein pancakes, orange
snack: 1/2 protein bar
lunch: hummus, 2 pita, WW yogert, 2 reduced fat cheese sticks(maybe a fruit)
snack: WW choc.shake with 1/2 banana (shake is one point and really filling)
dinner: red lentil and veg. soup, whole wheat bread
snack:????
Okay, now I have to stick with what I wrote:p

Good Morning Ladies!

Today was IMAX 2 and SM #3. This is my favorite of the IMAXes (just challenging enough)and SM with the band is my fav stretch. So, a great workout!:) Love those power squats! Is that what they are called. Where you squat and then turn with one foot on board?
I have not heard from the school where I applied for the K asst. position. Hope the position has not been filled already!:(
Okay, here is my rant today....Every Monday in our local paper they review a workout dvd in the "Life" section. Yesterday they featured one called, "Baywatch Beach Body Workout". What a joke and an insult to those who workout! It talks about "the bleach blond instructor donning a low cut red bathing suit and running in place." The writer discusses her crude comments, etc. You get the idea. I called the columnist once to suggest that she review a Cathe workout, but she said only if it were sent to her.x( Frustrating!

Marcy--Did you have a good b-day? DWTS? I liked Shannon, Kristi and Christian. Adam should go.

Good Morning Ladies!

I got great news as I was leaving work yesterday. My buyer is closing on Thursday! Hallelujah! I think I might actually be moving now.

DH surprised me last night with Chinese so I didn't have to cook. Had Wonton soup, pork fried rice and spare ribs (not the most nutritious but today's a new day).

I did Mark Blanchard's Foundation today. It was even tougher than yesterday. Very heavy on leg balances (some I did good; some not so good). I tried to kick out into chaturanga from crane but didn't do a very good job. Lots of chaturangas in this one and holding with elbows bent low to the ground). According to my HRM, I worked harder than yesterday. I managed to do 2 chinups and one pullup. Tomorrow will be cardio but haven't decided yet. I'm probably going to do one of Amy's hi/lo/kickboxing workouts or the new CIA step. It's with a new instructor - Deidre Morris and its complex step. I've heard only great reviews on it so far.

Breakfast: Sunday night's leftovers - scallops, peppers and pasta
Snack: Fiber One Bar
Lunch: Lean Cuisine - Chicken Tuscany
Snack: Light 'N Fit Yogurt, apricots, almonds
Dinner: London Broil, asparagus

Deanie - I'll post the recipe tomorrow. Don't have it with me. Looks like you had a great workout. I always take extra breaks during S&H. Good work getting through the pushups after all that heavy lifting.

Gin - Saw DWTS. I actually liked everyone except Adam and Mario. Adam can go first though. Marisa looked much better. I liked your favorites the best too. I don't think Marlee is doing as well these past 2 weeks as when she started. I'm liking Priscilla more. I thought she looked great. Too bad they took off for the lift. Next week back to Latin.

That was good you called the columnist. So who sends the reviews to her - the instructors or someone else. If they send the reviews, what's there for her to write? Does she do the workouts for the reviews people send her?

Gin~ I was going to ask this morning about the K position, I would think they would interview before making a decision. Have you talked to the teacher? Are you sure the workout column isn't a joke? They can't be serious about the baywatch workout!!:eek:

revised meals: I ate strawberries at work (part of the party celebration they had for me-- didn't eat the cake!) so I wasn't hungry for my bar, then by the time I got home, I waas starved, so i had boca chicken patties (2!!) and 2 pita and some hummus(I did say I was addicted to that, didn't I?LOL) I should be back on track for snack:9

Have either of you ever stripped the paint off of furnature? That is my new project, I will be starting this Fri. We got a beautiful old piece that was my DHs grandmas, but it is this horrible yellow with blue running thru it. A gorgeous piece, just a bad color. So I am going to try and strip it, I hope I have the patience. I like to do projects quickly, I am a "right now" kinda gal:) Once the paint is off, I want to just restore it to its natural wood color.

Hi Again!

Deanie - I never stripped the paint off furniture but I did strip about 7 layers of paint off my door frame in my old house. It came off pretty easily and DH and I were really proud of ourselves when we were finished. It didn't take too long and it looked so much better.

You and Gin are so good with your eating. I'm sure if I was that good, this extra 5 pounds would come right off.

"Let's go" works for me too.

Hi Again!

I guess I didn't explain myself very well this morning with the newspaper article. Sorry! The columnist is sent the exercise dvds from the co. and she then writes the reviews based on her workout. I just want to know why they would even bother to review a workout like that in the first place? It was not a joke. She said she burned 450 calories and it was good, if you could put up with the instructor's crude remarks.x( i guess the only way they would review one of Cathe's tapes is if she sent one to her.

Marcy-- Great news on your house!! I know you must be relieved! Have you turned in your 2 week notice?
Deanie is the one that eats right, not me. Do you see the ?? after my aft snack? That is where I mess up with pretzels, peanut m&ms, etc.:p

Deanie--If I have ever stripped paint off of furniture it has been so long ago that I don't remember it. Good luck! I'll bet it will look great when you restore it!

Hi Gin!

Yes, I'm much relieved. If I get a closing date this week, I'll give notice on Friday but at the snail's pace things have been going, I don't know if that's going to happen. I guess I missed the ??s.

I guess Cathe has such a big following, she probably doesn't need to send her DVDs out for review. 450 calories is pretty good though.
