Good Morning Girls :)

Today was HIS, weights first. I liked it! (surprise!) It was fun and hard and the 3rd combo of the step segment wasn't as bad this time around. I still don't have it down, but almost}( I used the same weights as Cathe except for flys Idid 20#. Next week I will try 22#. And my barbell doesn't load to 62#, so I did 65# instead:)

Gin~ How was KB/legs? Does she go heavy? I haven't previewed the weights yet. Are you sore from yesterday?

Marcy/Tracee~ I hope you had a great weekend! Did you do HIS today?

Have a great day!!
BBL,

Deanie

PS~ I thought the band work was killer!!!! I really felt it. Why is it I feel the band work so much more than the weights????? tension maybe?

Good Morning!

Today was Heavy Legs, then run 3 miles and then back to KB!:p I either didn't sleep well or am still dehydrated or am affected by this medicine. Those are my excuses anyway as to why it today was tough for me!:p
I liked the legs portion. I think the heaviest she goes is 35#bbl and 40# bbl with squats and 20# dbls with deadlifts. I don't have a bbl, but did the rst using the same weights as she did.
If you girls do the wieghts first tomorrow, the KB w/u is 12 min. long so that only leaves about 18 in of KB after you do legs.
I am so glad that tomorrow is yoga!

Deanie-- 65#????YIKES! My chest is a little sore from yesterday. I did warn you that the band was a killer!}( The band in the legs portion today, I hardly felt!?

Tracee and Marcy--Hope you had a good weekend! What did you do today?

Gin:)

Good morning ladies. Today was HIS/chest & back. I did weights first premix too and liked it that way. Plus, if I'm ever short on time I get to quit early on cardio instead of weights. ;) I'm definitly going to have to buy heavier dumbbells because I could have gone much heavier today but was limited. I was however, too chicken to try going heavier than 40lbs for the rows. I'm now glad that I did because I pulled something on the right side of my back so that's going to bug me for a while.

I think I'm going to do kickbox first tomorrow since it sounds like the warmup is actually a part of the workout. I don't want to split it up like that. Thanks Gin for letting me know that.

Deanie - How did you boys' do in their baseball games? We didn't have any games this weekend since we are in between sports right now. It was really weird not having to be anywhere all weekend.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning DGT!

My rotation is going to be slighly out of order this week since I did S&H Chest & Back yesterday to make up for Friday's workout. Here are my stats from C&B:

Bench Press: Sets 1&2 - 25# (up 2# on 1st set), 8 reps, Set 3 - 23#, 8 reps
Flys: S1 - 21#, 7 reps, S2 - 21#, 6 reps, S3 - 19#, 6 reps (up 2# on sets 1 and 2)
Pushups: all
Decided to go a little easy on chest so didn't do any incline work.
Back:
Dbbl Rows: Sets 1&2 - 21#, 8 reps, S3 - 19#, 8 reps (up 2# on sets 1 and 2)
Pullovers: All sets 29#, 8 reps (up 6# on S1 and 3# on S2)
Deadlifts: All sets, 25#, 8 reps
Supermans with 2# handweights
Planks - held for whole time

Today was LIS, Shoulders, Calves & Core. I started to do the weights first premix but realized it left out calves and core. I did this workout in the following order: LIS warmup, shoulders, calves, LIS cardio and cooldown, core, stretch. I burned 366 calories. I really enjoyed this workout. The bicycles in the core workout were tough for me. Here are my stats for shoulders:

Pyramid Overhead Press - 8, 10, 12 & 15 - all reps
Isolation Presses and Upright rows: Isolation Presses - 15# - couldn't finish last couple of reps on each side
Upright Rows: 15# all reps - these finally don't feel strange to me.
Straight Arm Lat Raises - 10# both sets, all reps
Bent Arm Lat Raise - 10# all reps
Front/Rear Raise - 10# - 8 reps for both sets
Rear Isolation - 8# - 12 reps for both sets

The rest of my week will be:
Tuesday - Yoga (not sure which yet, maybe David Swenson)
Wednesday - Bootcamp/Bis/Tris
Thursday - Kickbox, Legs & Core
Friday - HIS Chest & Back

Deanie - Sorry about DS's games but glad they played well. You're really going to make me work hard on Friday, aren't you?}( 65# -- WTG!:p The highest weight Cathe uses in Kickbox/Legs is 40# (for barbell squats - 20# for warmup set). She uses 35# for front squats, 20# dbbls for deadlifts, 30# dbbl for plie squats, 12# dbbl and ankle weights for outer thigh leg press, then another set of barbell squats. I always feel the extra burn with the band work.

Gin - The reason why I'm doing weights first is that I want to give more energy to my strength training than the cardio. I've read that whatever you want to get the most out of you should do first. I also like getting the hard work out of the way and then I can just have fun. WTG on the 68 pushups:p  :)! Glad you'll be doing yoga along with me tomorrow. Which one are you going to do?

Tracee - Hope your back is okay. Glad you liked HIS.

Marcy

Good Afternoon!

Gin~ For today being tough for you, you did a really good workout~good job:) Thanks for the heads up about the kickbox warmup. Now I'm not sure if I want to do my own warm up and do legs first or do the dvd as is. I think I will play it by ear tomorrow. What yoga are you going to do?

Marcy~ I may have given you something to work towards on Fri., but right back atchya;-) :) for you and your shoulder work!!! WTG! Shoulders are the hardest for me to go heavy. I think I will do LIS the way you did, it makes the most sense. I wonder why she didn't include the calf work or abs with weights first.

Tracee~ I hope your back is okay. Next weekend is our first no sports weekend. Do your kids do any winter sports? mine don't~ they hold out for baseball in the spring.

Hi Again!

Deanie - Thanks:). I'll probably wind up going heavier with back too. Chest is another story entirely. I haven't checked all the other premixes yet (especially the ones with weights first) to see what's missing. I thought they were just going to be the cardio warmup, then strength, then the main cardio and cooldown. I guess there's only so much room on a DVD and they have to cut certain things out. I really hate it when they cut out the warmup and cooldown which is what I think she did for the total upper body premix.

Hi Again!

Forgot to post my measurememnts:

Chest - Same
Waist - 23" (went down 1/2":p)
Thighs - L - gained 1/4" midthigh but lost 1/8" inner thigh
R - gained 3/8" midthigh but lost 1/2" inner thigh
Losing from the inner thigh was what I was hoping for so I'm real happy even for a tiny fraction of a loss.
Biceps - same
Hips - 34" - lost 1/2"

I'm thinking maybe it was because I did more yoga and fusion workouts this month, along with kickboxing for cardio. Heavy lifting always seems to work for me too. I was able to hold planks much longer this month. I feel like I've almost reached my goals. The only thing I still need to work on is legs and hips. Don't need to lose anymore in the waist. I thought I would've gained some mass in my arms but I'm happy with the way they look, I think they've gotten more defined.

Good Afternoon!

I just got home from the neurologist's office. I may have missed you all. She sent me home with 4 new meds to try and a migraine excuse for Jury Duty. Hope it works!:)
Do any of you girls have Barry's Bootcamp? I usually am not interested in other workouts, but so many people on this board rave about it. It's 19.95 + 4.95 on HSN for 5 90 min. dvds. Just wondered what you all thought.

Tracee--Take care of your back. Hope it's nothing serious.

Marcy--I'm planning to do B. Baptiste's Level 2 yoga (70 min.) tomorrow.

Deanie--It is strange when you are used to going to your kid's games every weekend and then they end. Wait until they graduate. You won't know what to do with all of your free time!;-)

Gin
ETA: Okay, Marcy I just read your stats for Nov. You sound like a Barbie doll. I was BORN bigger!!:)

Hi Again!

Thanks, Gin! I've never been called a Barbie doll before. I do have the blonde hair now though.:) I've been wavering back and forth about BBC. From what I read, they are more endurance workouts but very effective. Some people don't like Nadia's counting. There is treadmill cardio (Deanie!!!) and non-treadmill cardio and they are both intense. There are five workouts, one of them being a total body weights workout (which kind of intrigued me because I like body weight workouts). I hesitated because they are endurance workouts but I'm still interested. A lot have these on their trade list but then again, many say they like them and are effective. I'm not ready to get them yet (as I have oodles of workouts to do) but if you get them, I'd love to hear your reviews.

Hope the new meds work. At least you got out of jury duty although I'm sure you'd rather not have the migraine. Enjoy Baron tomorrow.
