How do I go about gaining cardio endurance? Currently I can do about 45 mins step but would like to extend that. I get winded very quickly walking up a hill or doing leg presses.

Hi, Jenn. Just keep at it, and add on a little at a time. It will come, with time. Go from 45 minutes to 50 minutes over the course of two weeks, for example. Tackle that hill on a regular basis (every other day or 3 times a week, for example), and try to get a little better each time.

Your endurance will increase as you work on it.

Leg presses are tough, but it's not cardio endurance that makes them so, it's because they are a tough resistance exercise. Again, keep dong them, and you'll get better at them.

And don't be dismayed if your progress is slow. It will come when it comes!

Another thing you could try is do 45 minutes of your workout with your step using risers and then take the risers out and just use the board for the rest. Basicly, do as much as you can without modification and then just modify everything else. Your endurance will improve with time, and it feels great when you can measure what used to be hard with your new abilities.
