Funny Story

Gobias

Cathlete
Well, I think it is funny. One of these days I was actually going to post a thread asking for advice on how to get your man to exercise with weights/become more healthy, but I think I found the answer.

Short story: My lovely S.O. is naturally very thin and can eat tons and never gain weight. He literally eats easily 4,000 to 5,000 calories of junk per day and if he ever feels his pants get tight, he just skips a pop for a day and they are back to being loose. He used to go to the gym and do ironman triathalons and have nice muscles (.....yummy....), but hasn't for several years. He is still thin and will ride his bike or go for a run every once in awhile (couple times a month). But alas, the six-pack and rippling muscles (....again, yummy....) are gone.

I have hinted here and there about muscle training, STS, gym, etc., but he just isn't interested - he wants to bike once a month. He has even mentioned how tight my body has gotten since Cathe (I am also naturally very thin and I have really gotten some nice muscle tone) and how much it looks like I enjoy and look forward to Cathe videos. I tell him he can exercise with me (be my spotter, team up, etc.), but he just doesn't want to do "girl" videos. (Although he magically seems to show up when I am stretching in the downward dog pose in my "girl" videos). I have told him that guys are in STS videos, but that doesn't sway him.

Well, over the weekend, I was previewing STS for my start on Monday and he walked into my workout room to see what was going on. There was a close up of one of the guys and it showed a close up of some major muscle definition. I wasn't lingering on it (I promise!) and then skipped to the next exercise. It again showed a close up of a guy and he was doing a bicep curl. Without a word, my S.O. walked over to the hanging tower and did a bunch of pull ups. Then he did a bunch of sit ups. That was the most muscle work he has done in several years!

I didn't say anything, but I was laughing. Now I know to just play a loop of Cathe's men on the DVD for his inspiration. So, Cathe, if you could have a Premix of "Just Men", I would appreciate it.

That is funny, I really like Al in X-train. My hubby years ago did Gym Styles Chest and triceps, I think he's been scared ever since the push-up drop sets.
