Frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I have to vent somewhere. I spent four months getting my Personal Trainer Certification and yet I cant get a job. We live in a small town and there are really only 2 options. So I thought that I would start my own training business from home and be a mobile personal trainer. The city wont give me a license to be a "mobile personal trainer". I would have to have people come to my house - 10 miles outside of town. Who is going to drive out in the country to see a personal trainer? Gas is $4.00 a gallon, food prices are high, my husband is not making much money at work...and on and on my life goes.

I really feel that I have something specail to offer other women and I am frustrated that my lack of gym experience is preventing me from getting a job.

Ok, now I feel a little better - well not really.....

Oh that stinks! I'm so sorry...you should try to appeal it and give those reason to the appeal board.

Appealing can't hurt....

That stinks!

Bummer. :( Where do you live? I am AFAA certified and found a lot of success doing the mobile thing. Post flyers everywhere!! Attached is a flyer that I distributed in my community. It's a two sided tri-fold. I found a lot of success with this. Get at much experience as possible in your community--give presentations about fitness and health, offer group sessions for a discount, give a couple of free sessions to get your name out there. It really works!

What about going to schools or area businesses and doing on-site training if the facilities permit? The school where I teach has had folks come in and do yoga or spin classes, and the teachers love being able to work out right there when the school day is done.

You could also run an outdoor boot camp class at an area park.

Good luck!
