Hi,
I have been up since 5a.m. (not too bad). Yesterday, it felt like the baby WAS coming out of me. There is such intense pressure toward the bottom of my uterus, and it makes it so hard to walk sometimes (like yesterday). I did a very mild LS Workout-it was on Disc 2 of the 4-mile walk workout. It was called "jogging mile", but I walked and modified a lot.
Oh, I forgot to tell you this...my DH and I got life insurance physicals last Monday to upgrade our insurance. DH's physcial results came back, and they were fine. Mine, however, were a different story. My cholesterol is through the roof (366 total). HDL is 86 (I think that's o.k.), but LDL is 234
!!!! I called my sister (the doctor) right away, and she said it's due to pregnancy. She said she had to get a physical for work when she was pregnant, and her's was raised too. I have an OB appt next Wed, so I will bring all my results. I also plan to go to family doctor after baby is born and get it retested as a follow-up. There were some other abnormal things as well (for all you medical professionals)...Creatine was 0.5 (a little low), Triglycerides were 229 (high). I am really freaking out...I am only 33 and take care of myself!!!
DH is sick (bad ear infection-2nd in 3 months). Dr. said that DH will have to go to ENT if he gets another one soon. No reason as to what it causing them.
We are planning to go to Knobel's Grove park today. It's an amusement park in PA that is really old and awesome. It is a family park, and they never charge for parking or admission, so anyone can get in. Tickets or handstamps are used for the rides. I love that place! We are meeting bro and sis-in law and their little boy.
And for personals...
Kate-I hear you about arguing with DH! Sometimes they come off with these far-out ideas/requests. Like you don't need a break??? I get frustrated with mine too
. I hope that he comes to his senses today. I can't wait to see the nursery-it sounds wonderful! We still have to do a few things (time to get on hubby again)
.
Susan-Oh my, girl
. You just can't catch a break (bad choice of words-sorry)! I hope your foot isn't broken. Let us know.
Mikkia-Yeah for the in-laws being gone. Isn't that stressful??? When my MIL was living, she used to make little comments to me all the time. She meant well, but I still didn't like them.
Lisa-I am due Oct 11th, but c/s will be scheduled the week of 10/6 sometime. I am hoping to FINALLY schedule it next Wed at my appt. Inservice for teachers begins on Monday-Thurs. Then, school begins on Monday, the 25th. I am looking forward to it, but also nervous about how parents will respond on the evening of the 28th (open house night) when they find out I won't be there Oct-beg of Jan. My long-term sub is very nice, but now she is interviewing for a last minute perm. position, so who knows if she will be my sub or not.
Autumn-I was interested in learning more about kettlebells too after I saw this infomercial on TV. I didn't buy into that infomercial b/c the weights seemed way too light, but I am interested in getting into them after the baby is born. I will check out that site you talked about. Are the workouts fun? How is the music? I hope your nausea subsides.
Stephanie-How was your "alone" time yesterday? I began washing baby clothes too. I really want to buy some new stuff (baby Gap has SUCH cute things), but then I feel guilty b/c we already have so much. SIL is giving me a huge bag of baby clothes today (to borrow). Maybe buying a few things won't hurt
. Gap Outlet just opened in Hershey, so that's always an option too.
Maggie-With all the pressure I have "down there", I don't even want to think of Sexmax (my poor DH). Thanks for explaining what a Moby wrap was. Before you explained it, I was thinking it was some kind of shawl or bathrobe
. Yes, I am very energetic on most days, but the other day was just non-stop. I do not like to sit (hmmmmmmm....I wonder why my DS has such a high energy level
).
Jen #2-Let us know how the appt. goes. Good luck at Babies RU. Let me think of more baby things I couldn't live without...
For Me:
Lansinoh (for breasfeeding breasts)-it's a cream that is great in preventing soreness, cracked skin
Disposable nursing pads (I had the cotton ones at first, but didn't like them)
A good breast pump (Medella ((sp?)) Pump-in-Style). $$$, but worth it.
For Baby:
-monitor
-bouncy seat that vibrates
-Instead of high chair, I would have requested one of those seats that hooks right on the table.
-exersaucer (one that converts from an exersaucer to a walker)
-really long bibs with pockets
-Avent bottles (they worked great)
-baby bathtub
-Triple Paste diaper cream (I swear by this stuff)!!! Sister is a dermatologist and swore by it. DS NEVER got a diaper rash. I recommend it to all my friends, and the pediatrican was very happy to hear we use it. It also works great on adult skin (for anything).
-Very mild soap/lotion (Cetaphil)-again, recommendation from sister
-velcro swaddle wraps ( I swore that I would get one with this baby-didn't have one with last baby
*I could go on, but those are my favorites.
Hello to everyone else!!!
Wow-another novel
.
I am off to get ready for the day!
