Yesterday, Maggie was wishing she was having a baby
. It was 9:00pm here on the west coast by the time I got down to the computer yesterday, so I figured there wasn't much point in posting.
Now I'm not so worried about getting everything done, I'm worried I will get everything done and then I'll get to just sit around and feel uncomfortable, because I don't feel like anything is going on--I'm hardly even having braxton-hicks. He'll check me today, but I'm prepared for no progress in the labor direction.
Yesterday, at Winco, Bardric pointed to an obese man and said loudly and matter-of-factly, "He's fat."
Teaching moment. Isabella then told me that at Office Depot that he'd said, "She's ugly." referring to some woman--this one I did not hear for myself and she didn't tell me until later. I've got some work to do with him, clearly.
++++++
Susan--that salmon dish sounds yummy! and coconut pound cake? Oh my. It all sounds so good. You must be going to pick up dd soon or are they bringing her back?
Kate--sorry dd has a wicked sore throat. I hope it doesn't cruise through the rest of your family, like bugs seem to do in our house.
Mikki--Is having in-laws at your house a regular summer event? I can't imagine having house guests for that long. (I'm an introvert and constant company would make me insane--a little goes a long way for me
) Also, our family is not close and hopefully yours is. I hope you have a good time--sounds like a regular family reunion.
Stephanie--enjoy your sweet boys! I hope you get everything done at the mall that you need to get done and that you guys have a nice lunch. sounds like you have a busy day planned.
Jenm--you aren't reading this, but I have something to day about breast feeding. I think that there are lots of pros--healthier for baby, convenient, cheap. And I will try to breast feed come hell or high water. That being said, I do not think it is a moral issue and if you bottle feed, that's fine. Our fourth child has down syndrome and could not nurse and although I pumped for 9 months, I had to supplement with forumula or he would have failed to thrive. After 9 months he got all forumula. I think that going through this with him took away my judgmental attitude on this issue.
Candra--wow--that's early for school to start. You mentioned uniforms. Do they go to a private school? I'm used to public schools starting the day after Labor Day, although I'm sure there are exceptions. Have fun with the baby furniture!
Kristan--Carseats have an expiration date? That's news to me. Ours is 7 years old. I wonder if we should get a new one. I definitely will need a new high chair, the old one is beyond gross, but I'm going to try and manage with everything else we already have. I do want to buy a special wrap thingie to carry the baby around. I can't remember what it's called. It's basically a huge piece of stretchy cloth--looks complicated, but comfortable.
Jen--have fun setting the classroom up. I don't have a class room, but I really enjoy the prep work type stuff and getting it all organized. Now if I could just transfer that love for organization to the rest of the house!
