FRIDAY!!!!!! check-in

Good morning and happy Friday!!! What's up today?

Gina definetly has a wicked sore throat so we are staying in/laying low.
We had plans to go to this really awesome zoo with some friends but I had to cancel it.

I'll get some cardio in. No weights. I am pleasantly sore from Power Hour yesterday!

Jen's off on a jet plane! yay!

Morning!
Kate-sorry Gina is sick! Hopefully Isabel won't get it too.
I guess Jen is on her way!
Today I am making a cake and melanies muffins for my friend that kept Haley. Her dh loves my coconut pound cake, and I thought they would like muffins too. I also need to go pick up a school supply list from the school.
I plan on weights this morning, probalby PP.
Wonder where Maggie was yesterday??
Hi to everyone!

Susan the baker - How sweet of you! You're getting excited to get your Haley back, aren't you? I bet she's getting excited to come home too! How'd the meatloaf and potatoes turn out?

Hi all.
susan-sounds like you are one busy chef! Ibet your dh think he died and went to heaven this week. I know you can't wait to get dd back home!
Kate-sorry little Gina is sick, it must be going around. I am feeling better today, but that is what I am left with is a sore throat. At least the kids seem ok.
Jen is going to have such a great time this weekend.
Maybe Maggie had a baby?
Well, I am off for cleanmax, errand max, grocery shopping max etc. My sil and her family, my bil and other sil and of course the ever present inlaws are coming sat-wed. So I may not be around much. I just hope I survive it without doing anyone bodily harm. Sil and bil don't know I am pregnant. I am almost 16 weeks for god's sake, when they walk in the door they are going to know. I really am not showing huge, but come on, they aren't stupid. My dh's idea was to surprise them.;)
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey!
PP done. I tried to bench press a 5lb weight with my left arm..going up is fine but my arm totally gave out coming down and I about knocked myself out LOL..I went to 3lbs after that. I am still going heavy with my right arm so I hope I dont get lopsided.
DH loved the meatloaf. I saw a new recipe on Martha Stewart and tried it. It has parmesean cheese in it. Dh likes the typical meatloaf so I didnt think he would like this one..but he loved it!
Yes, I am very excited about Haley coming home. I talk to her 2 times a day and the past 2 days I can tell she is homesick.
Tonight I am making a dish I saw on 30 min meals yesterday. Its red snapper in this orange glaze, napa cabbage, and couscous. I have never used napa cabbage before..hope I can find it in the backwards town I live in!

Hi ladies,
YEY it's FRIDAY!!!

Jen-Have a safe and fantastic trip!!

Kate--Sorry Gina is sick. Do you think it could be strep throat? Hope she gets to feeling better so she can enjoy the weekend.

Susan--Yum on the pound cake!! I made brownies last night  And I think I ate 1/3 of the pan  . Note to self: STAY AWAY FROM BAKED GOODS. Hope the school supply list isn't too hefty. I think Office Max or one of those stores is having a penny sale on school supplies. Luckily, Oliver's school lets us purchase a "wrap pack" for one flat fee that has everything they need in it (except for lunchbox, backpack, etc.). Well worth it. When do you leave to pick up your little one?

Mikkia-Sounds like you are going to "max" yourself out this weekend! Hopefully it will be better than you think. Talk about in-law overload!!

Candra--You asked yesterday what book I read, it was Lily by Paullina Simons. It was really good. Kind of a mystery/love story. She's a good author. Now I've started Summer Garden by the same author; it's the third in a series about a couple after World War II. It's nearly 800 pages long, though. I don't know if I'll have the staying power for it.

Maggie--Where are you??? :)

Hi to Trish, Jen1 and everybody else!!
--------
Well, the boys woke up extra sweet this morning. Hopefully they'll stay that way today :). I plan on going shopping with them and take them to lunch. I hope I can do it. I've been having some pains very low down. Don't know if it's because of the bladder infection or if it's because of the baby. My workout will be my mall-walking. No time for much else today. Tonight we have meet-and-greets at Oliver AND Henry's schools. And after that, I'm coming home, getting into my sweats and watching what's left of the opening ceremonies. Hope you all have a great day!! :)

Hi Stephanie! You have a busy day ahead of you. Your boys will be sugar sweet..promise:) We leave at 7am to meet and pick up Haley in Memphis tomorrow.
I think I'll go eat a Melanie muffin...mmm

Mikkia, How fun to surprise them! We could never hold out til I was showing. Did your parents come y'day? Was everythig okay?

Susan, Your food sounds so yummy!! Dh musT be very impressed! Sorry for the weight issue - owch!!

Stephanie. Have a fun date with your boys!! Hope the pains ease up for you. No fun! If you want I'll eat the rest of your borwnies for you!!

---------
Gina's coming around a bit, thank goodness!
Getting lots of chores done AND the cleaning lady is here so lots getting done this morning.
Oh, and the painter is here too to get the primer and base coat down. Stripes will be next week then I'll post a picture!

Yesterday, Maggie was wishing she was having a baby:p. It was 9:00pm here on the west coast by the time I got down to the computer yesterday, so I figured there wasn't much point in posting.

Now I'm not so worried about getting everything done, I'm worried I will get everything done and then I'll get to just sit around and feel uncomfortable, because I don't feel like anything is going on--I'm hardly even having braxton-hicks. He'll check me today, but I'm prepared for no progress in the labor direction.

Yesterday, at Winco, Bardric pointed to an obese man and said loudly and matter-of-factly, "He's fat." Teaching moment. Isabella then told me that at Office Depot that he'd said, "She's ugly." referring to some woman--this one I did not hear for myself and she didn't tell me until later. I've got some work to do with him, clearly.

++++++
Susan--that salmon dish sounds yummy! and coconut pound cake? Oh my. It all sounds so good. You must be going to pick up dd soon or are they bringing her back?

Kate--sorry dd has a wicked sore throat. I hope it doesn't cruise through the rest of your family, like bugs seem to do in our house.

Mikki--Is having in-laws at your house a regular summer event? I can't imagine having house guests for that long. (I'm an introvert and constant company would make me insane--a little goes a long way for me :p ) Also, our family is not close and hopefully yours is. I hope you have a good time--sounds like a regular family reunion.

Stephanie--enjoy your sweet boys! I hope you get everything done at the mall that you need to get done and that you guys have a nice lunch. sounds like you have a busy day planned.

Jenm--you aren't reading this, but I have something to day about breast feeding. I think that there are lots of pros--healthier for baby, convenient, cheap. And I will try to breast feed come hell or high water. That being said, I do not think it is a moral issue and if you bottle feed, that's fine. Our fourth child has down syndrome and could not nurse and although I pumped for 9 months, I had to supplement with forumula or he would have failed to thrive. After 9 months he got all forumula. I think that going through this with him took away my judgmental attitude on this issue.

Candra--wow--that's early for school to start. You mentioned uniforms. Do they go to a private school? I'm used to public schools starting the day after Labor Day, although I'm sure there are exceptions. Have fun with the baby furniture!

Kristan--Carseats have an expiration date? That's news to me. Ours is 7 years old. I wonder if we should get a new one. I definitely will need a new high chair, the old one is beyond gross, but I'm going to try and manage with everything else we already have. I do want to buy a special wrap thingie to carry the baby around. I can't remember what it's called. It's basically a huge piece of stretchy cloth--looks complicated, but comfortable.

Jen--have fun setting the classroom up. I don't have a class room, but I really enjoy the prep work type stuff and getting it all organized. Now if I could just transfer that love for organization to the rest of the house!

Hi Lisa! Hi Anne! Hi Morris! Hi Trish!

Maggie :)
38 weeks, 4 days

Good Morning!

I already did my workout this morning. I did PP, I needed something easier since I didn't feel like working out. I'm glad it's over:)

Stephanie, I am running errands and taking the boys out for lunch also. We have to go to Target and the grocery store.

Kate, I'm glad Gina is starting to feel better. I can't wait to see pictures of the baby's room.

Susan, yum I want some coconut pound cake:p

Mikkia, have fun sharing your news today.

Maggie, the boys went to private school last year, but we moved into a better school district so we are thinking about sending Wilson to public this year (Owen is still in pre-school at the other). We only have one week left to make our decision. They wear uniforms at both schools. The only thing that is holding me back is I really like them going to a Christian school. We'll see. I also want to buy a sling for this baby. I went with my friend who has a 3 month old to try out all the different kinds. Petunia Pickle Bottom makes a really soft one that she ended up buying and I think I am going to try with this baby.

Hi Jen, Kristan, Anne and Morris!

Candra

Hi gals. I'm 8 days post-opt. I have good and bad days. Some days I bleed more than others, based on my activity level.

Yesterday I started South Beach diet to help lose the 10-lbs I gained while pg. I stepped on the scale and was 5lbs under what I was about 4 days ago. Much of it is water weight, I still don't fit into my clothes---but hope to in a few days.

Emotionally, up and down. I'm looking at getting a momento ring or necklace or something in honor of our babe.

Anyway, just stopped by to say hi. I have been lurking, but don't really feel like regulalry posting here quite yet.

hi there everyone - just popping in to say hi!

melanie, i continue to pray for you and your family. i hope each day brings you more healing physically and emotionally. congrats on your new job. i hope this is the start of less stress in general.

maggie, you are so close!! it will be here soon, i am sure. good luck at the doc today. maybe do a few plyos before hand???:)

kate, hope all is well. when is your next appointment?

candra, hope you like your sling. i love snuggling my little guy next to me!

stephanie, i just got back from the mall. now i remember why i never go! too many people for me. but, it was good to move around on an otherwise rainy day. looking for anything in particular?

susan, the red snapper sounds fantastic - great workout!

mikki, good luck with the family visit - hope it goes well. wonder if they will notice the pregnancy? people can be a little unaware....

jen, i look forward to hearing about the road trip.

hi lisa - how are you??

aidan is 2 months today and so cute. he is all smiles and cuddles, except at 3am. still eats every 2.5-3.5 hours, but i am adjusting. ds1 adores him, which is so cute. my visitors have left, thankfully, but i am still dealing with difficulties with my mom and dad. i really need some distance from the situation (they are separated after 39 yrs of marriage), but it is hard to impliment. physically i feel great - strong and healthy, just tired! i am really enjoying working out with out being pregnant, though. so much easier to move! i am thinking of trying the nutrition software. anyone doing it?

bbl

Maggie, LOL at your teaching moments! Hope today is good to you.

Candra, Have fun with your boys today! Great WO! I love that one. The slings you glas are talking about sound nice. I really love my Baby Bjorn.

Melanie, (hugs). Good to hear from you.

Morris. Nice to see you! Next appt. is the 2.5 weeks away. Looking forward to it. After that its every 2 weeks….I’m dreading the drive, esp. when it goes down to weekly! Oh well, huh? Glad to hear you’re feeling well. Sorry about your parents though. Did they pull it together for your immediate pp period? I hope so.
----
Still getting lots done. Looking forward to getting Dds down for a nap! Maybe I can do my cardio then. If not, it will be tonight. Eating is clean! yay!

Hi!
Melanie-so good to "see" you. Hang in there.

Hi Morris-can't belive its been 2 months already. Sorry about your parents, how stressful!

Maggie-I thought for sure you were giving birth yesterday girl! Soon!!!!

Kate-you busy bee. Hope you get to workout!!

Cake is in the oven and about to mix up 4 batches of muffins.

I guess Im offically in the 2ww now. My af symptoms are identical to my preg symptoms too!

Ugh--just as we pulled into the ob parking lot, dd2 puked all over. Apparently an older sister, who will remain anonymous, had given her a "snack bag" and straight apple juice for the ride over. It's kind of a long drive with some nasty twists and turns at the end.

Anyway, I had enough extra clothes in the car (we are slobs--comes in handy at times).Raced to take off her clothes and put on fresh ones. I ran her into the bathroom and washed her off best I could. I could totally smell her, but if anyone else could they didn't say anything. I kept praying in the waiting room that she wouldn't barf again. She didn't.

Man, what a morning. I have an induction scheduled for after my due date--the 22nd and I feel much better about this, then scheduling a non-necessary one early.
+++
Candra--I haven't heard of that sling. I'll have check it out. I'd better get busy with the sling buying.

Melanie--I miss you and continue to pray for you. (((hugs)))

Morris--glad things are going so well with your little ones and your physical recovery. I can't wait to work out post partum--ah to be able to breath again. I'm sorry things are still rough with your parents. Is there anyway to just take a break from them? Sometimes I have to do this when extended family relationships get too stressful.

Kate--how far away are your appointments? Mine are about 40 minutes away (one way), but I love this particular hospital. Good on the clean eating.

Susan--what's the 2ww? I'm lost with all these abbreviations:confused::p. When does dd come home?

Hi everyone else!

Maggie:)
38 weeks, 4 days

Maggie-I had to ask what 2ww was too! Its the 2 week wait for either af or pos preg test. We got get dd tomorrow!
Sorry for the puking!! So 2 weeks from today..yayyy

Hi ladies,
I'm back from shopping. Why is it that I romanticize a beautiful day and it's never quite as I plan it? It is a beautiful day here, though. It was nice going out and about in manageable heat. My mom went with us, and that was really nice. Oliver got very short with me and weepy because I wouldn't buy him a toy at the Disney store. I was proud of myself. I usually wind up buying something. I did buy my handsoaps at BBW and the boys got some books at the discount bookstore. We ate in the mall (yuck). McDonalds, of course. Blech. I choked down half of a plain grilled chicken sandwich and four or five of Henry's french fries. Not clean at all. But I resisted the urge to buy a large lemonade and went with water. Anyway...
Melanie--So glad you checked in! You've been missed! I'm sorry things are still rough emotionally. I doubt you ever really get over such a loss. But I think the memory necklace would be a sweet thing to get. I saw a really sweet necklace on Redenvelope.com the other day. Here's the link: http://www.redenvelope.com/re/gifts...allpartial&initSrch=search&oid=18792220&nc2=1
(long link) Anyway, I hope that I'm not being too nosey by suggesting it. I just thought it was so sweet... ((Hugs))
Maggie--Sorry about the puke. Car puke is the worst puke, well next to middle-of-the-night/in-the-bed puke. Blech. Sounds like you came prepared though with extra clothes!! You ARE supermom, I hope you know. Glad the appointment went well and you scheduled your induction!! HOW EXCITING!!!
Candra--I love the name Owen! I considered it with this pregnancy, but DH has a cousin who has a son named Owen, so we decided not to.
Morris--Glad you checked in! Aidan sounds like a sweetheart! I know you're glad your other DS is adjusting so well! Glad your visitors are gone and you can relax. Hope Aidan starts sleeping a little longer soon!!
Kate--Congrats on today's clean eating! Hope Gina is feeling better.
Susan--I'll be saying a little prayer during these two weeks!! Now send me some CAKE!!!! :)
---
OK better go do a few things around here before tonight's school meet-n-greets. (Whining adds..) Do I have to go???

Susan, Fingers and toes crossed for your 2WW!!!!!!!! send some cake here too! I have a wicked sweet tooth!

Maggie, Ugh. Puke in the car. Gina has done that. The car never fully recovered. We do NOT have it anymore. My midwife's is about 30 min. away. Not *terrible* but my old ob was 15 min away. I/m glad you've got some plans for your babe.

Stephanie, I always get an idea of how I think an afternoon out with DDs should go too. sigh.......... Good job with lunch and toy-drama! If its any consolation I would dread the school think too..

Painter got the base coats down. Next week STRIPES!!! I can't wait to show youall! ANd DH had one of his employees come over to get the rest of my office furniture downstairs. We'll get our crib abck tomorrow...it's coming together!!!!!!!!

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my cardio done!
Gina did Leslie Sansone 4-mile walk with me. Isabel did 2 of the miles. Nice to have WO partners!

need to get them to bed, then me!

Hi,
It's almost 9, and I am just sitting down to post. I did have insomnia around 2:00-3:00a.m. this morning. I looked in the journal I kept with my last pregnancy, and it was just around this time that I started getting insomnia, and at the same time too. How strange is that? Instead of watching Court TV to get to sleep, I sit at the computer. My DH got the scariest movie from Netflix, and and I had to go upstairs 30 minutes into it. It is called 1408, and it is based on a short story by Steven King. It's about a very evil hotel room. I don't think that helped my insomnia one bit b/c I kept thinking I would see something scary in the dark. My imagination really runs away on me sometimes.
I did manage to do Squeeze before going to my classroom. There, I unpacked more boxes. DH and DS came to visit. Aside from playing with almost everything, DS pooped his pants, and it got all over the new bathroom. Of course, my DH didn't have any wipes with him, so we improvised with what we had. So, I didn't get as much done as I would have liked, but oh well.
I am pooped now from getting ready/cleaned up for our party tomorrow. We have family/friends over, and I also tie it into my Silpada Jewelry Open House. The more people drink, the more they buy!

Stephanie-I did get to Ross today, and I bought Get Ripped to the Core and Slim and Lean. Thanks so much for the suggestion! I got my soaps yesterday-I love the foamy ones b/c they last forever. I know what you mean about eating at McDonald's. When I take my son (rarely), I have to force myself to eat their food. It's nasty!

Kate-Glad to hear your nursery is coming together too. We have a few last minute projects to do, but it's coming together. You are lucky to have a painter-painting is not something I enjoy at all! I am glad that Gina is doing better. Too cute that Isabelle walked 2 miles with you during your L.S. workout.

Candra-Our school (public) does not allow us to ask parents for anything. At open house, I "suggest" some items ,but I never put them in writing. I always get more than I need (things like glue sticks and markers). We supply kids with everything else. We start on 8/25.

Maggie-Too cute about your son (b/c it didn't happen to me). My sister used to pull stuff like that all that time (ex: Daddy, why is that lady so fat?). And, she talks so loud too. I am glad that your DD's puke was a one-time event today.

Morris-Glad to hear from you. I bet you were stressed during your parents' visit. Did they act like everything was o.k., or was there major tension? What is Aidan's middle name? We are going to go with John (for my father), or Joseph b/c my DH likes that middle name. For as popular as that name is, I never taught an Aidan in my 10 years of teaching, and I met my first Aidan today (an older boy). Andrew was supposed to be really popular too (my DS #1 name), but I have only ever taught 1 Andrew, and I don't know any other ones beside that one.

Hi Melanie-I am happy to hear from you too. When do you start your new job? Hang in there! You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Kristan-I posted to you about us selling our XBOX 360 the other day in the check in. Well, we had someone contact us through Craig's List, and instead of buying it, this guy wants to trade his Wii, along with 32 games. He is coming to our house on Sunday to make the trade. That way, we can both make sure the systems work. I never thought I'd be into games like this after my days of playing Atari.

Hello to everyone else!
-Jen
