Freestyle

After reading the book, I've decide to start freestyle training next week. I think I will follow the plan in the book to begin with. However, I'm unsure how I should mix it up later on. I have the body blast series and the intensity series. Is there any way I can incorporate these videos and/or any other Cathe videos into the training?

Thanks for your help!

Hi! I've been away from the forum for a while so I apologize if this has been discussed and I just couldn't find it! What is the book you read on freestyle training?
Thank you!

Jo

Laurie,

A few of us have been doing Freestyle training using Cathe but each of us have been doing our own version. Rhonda Cook has been probably been doing more of a PURE Freestyle training than the rest of us but I don't think she's currently using Cathe. I believe she uses exercises from the book.

I work my legs 5 days a week. I do at least 20 minutes of Cathe using either PS legs, L&G, PLB or SS. What I try to do is quad, inner thigh and outer thigh work one day and then hamstrings and glute work another day. I have just begun to add 200 walking lunges on my quad and hamstring day.

In addition, I do upper body two days per week and abs two days per week and cardio five days per week. It really took me awhile to make everything fit to where I feel I am performing Freestyle type exercising properly and not exercising more than an hour a day.

I bought my Freestyle Training book from .www.slimandfit.com I think this one is probably the one to get, it is co-authored with Laura Dayton............. its a very good book, I bought mine back in Febuary, thats how long I have been doing freestyle training...... Rhonda:7

Laura when I first started I did freestyle with all cathe's lower body workouts, now I just use the freestyle rotations......

Rhonda, what are your results? Also, did you get the Freestyle book or the Lower Body Solution?
Thanks,
Jo

Hi Jo...
Well between freestyle and watching what I eat, I have lost all the weight I wanted too, and I have been working on toning and definition.
I really like my results, but am not finished and never will be:7 .. my hips are at 34 inches now, and I am working on getting them to 33 or possibly 32 inches:7 ... I only have the Freestyle Training book... hope this helps...... Rhonda:7

I never go hungry either, but I have been working on my eating for a while, that took some discipline........

Thanks for the info, Candi!

I guess I will stick with the workout in the book and then, mix it up with Cathe's leg workouts when I start noticing that my body isn't responding any more. But I'm amazed that you get all your workouts done in an hour!

Laurie

Rhonda,

I've been reading the freestyle book by George Snyder that was just released a month or so. Actually, I borrowed it from a friend, who has been seeing great results from it!

But that Lower Body Solution really gets my interest as well. Like Jo said, "Something else to spend my money on!"

I'm really impressed by your results. My biggest hurdle is my eating habits. How strict are you with yours?

Laurie

Laurie, I am strict but not so strict that I don't eat sweets... I also go out to Pizza Hut and have the buffet, but I never over eat...
I have ice cream I just am careful.... I do pay attention to what I put in my mouth, and limit the processed foods........ I rarely drink soda's, maybe 1 soda every few months...... I drink alot of water.
Hope this helps........... Rhonda

when I started freestyle I it was shortly after christmas and I had not been exercising to well during the holidays, so I had gained back 7 lbs I had lost and my size 6 pants were a little tight, but now I can wear size 4's and maybe working on a size 2:7 .. I am 44, been married 23 yrs, and have 2 grown sons......oh, and I am 5'2"
