Freestyle? What, How, Where to Begin?

I've seen so much posted about Freestyle. I've searched it and have come up with hundreds of hits, but I'd still like someone to explain it to me from the beginning. What is it? Who does it benefit? How do I get started? Please, explain it to me like I'm 6 years old (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Hi Lynda....I'll try to explain it in a shortened version...:)...Freestyle is geared towards the pear shaped woman, but others have also gotten results. It talks about how women need to work their lower bodies different than men to get lean toned muscle. Like dancers & ice skaters. Georges concept for Freestyle is working the legs 4-6 days a week, doing high reps and low weights. When I did Freestyle I used 70-75% of the weight I had used before, for example if I used 50lbs before for squats the Freestlye way I dropped to 35lbs. You bascially do 4-6 exercises a day for 4-6 days a week. I did 4 sets of 20 reps for each exercise. Various type of lunges are one of the main exercises for Freestyle. This is one of the best threads about Freestyle and it is long so it will take some time to go thru if you want to. http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?..._id=243752&mesg_id=243752&listing_type=search

I hope this helps...:)

Thank you so much! That's just what I needed. I got so many hits when I searched "freestyle," I didn't know where to begin. It sounds ideal for my pear shape. I ordered George Snyder's book, and I'm looking forward to checking it out.
