Fraxel laser

I have seen old threads about this but they seem to be about a year old.
Has anyone had any recent results good or bad. I saw a plastic surgeon today and he does a 4 session package. He says you need all 4 so you have to pay everything before the first session. I guess a lot of people quit because it hurts or they are happy with the results after a couple of treatments.

The surgeon does the treatments himself. I trust him as a surgeon but need to ask how long he has been doing laser.

I'll be doing a series of 5 soon for acne scars. I have no idea about results, though. I've been doing Levulan treatments for acne (not working well), and from what I've been told, Levulan is WAY more painful and intense than the Fraxel and I've survived them just fine. The best thing I ever did was quit using the expensive crap they made me buy and start using Castor oil for recovery. I think 3 days is the recovery time for Fraxel before you want to start going out? I can't leave the house for 7 days every time I do a Levulan treatment. So good recovery time in comparison .And you want to do them in 3- 6 week intervals. Some people say 3 is ideal so that the effects build, but others say you need the 6 week recovery in between. Of course, I'm sure your surgeon has opinions on that .

The ladies at the doctor's office I go to do Fraxel on each other relatively often, and their skin is amazing! So, I'm assuming it does something .

The surgeon said 3-4 weeks between treatments. There really isn't supposed to be any down time, just redness and a little swelling. I won't plan on going out just in case. I've looked on the internet and some of the results are great but others don't look much different. Joan
