Found out I'm pregnant yesteray...

...and I'm a bit freaked out. My husband and I aren't going to tell any one for three months, but I had to tell SOMEONE! I am still in total shock since we got pregnant the first time we tried, and I just wasn't expecting that. My husband had testicular cancer six months after we were married, so I think we were both anticipating that it would take a while. I wondered, does anyone have any good book recommendations about pregnancy, sort of a week by week guide?

Sorry to ramble. As I said, I am totally overwhelmed.

Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :)

This is awesome! Me and my DH are TTC and I can't wait until the moment my pregnancy test will say it's positive.

A good book would be What to Expect when you are Expecting by Heidi Murkoff.
A lot of people recommended The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy but I personally did not like it.

Hope to join you soon
Have a great day

First of all I want to say congratulations. Second, the best advice is experiance. That will soon come. In the mean time join groups like this forum online (for pregnacy) and talk to other moms. I always found comfort and great advice in those forums.

Good luck

I second (or third?) the vote for "Your Pregnancy Week by Week". You may also want to check out "Exercising Through your Pregnancy" by James Clapp. It's a little dry, but has a lot of good information about the positive effects of intense exercise during pregnancy.

Also, like Andrea said, this board is very motivating and it is great to be able to communicate with other expecting moms. Welcome!!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FIT MOMMIES PREGNANCY JOURNEY!!
Sooooooooo fun! Just wait til you have the sweetie and you will not be freaked out. It's the best decision ever ;-)

Congrats to you and your hubby!
Don't read too many books. They say so much crap that you really don't need to know. My father in law is an ob/gyn and he says the same thing. Stick to this forum, lots of us have great advice and eat the things they say no to and have happy healthy babies/children;-)

Read the funny ones like Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, it's hilarious and Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. Just remember, EVERYONE'S experience is different. No 2 pregnancies or 2 babies are alike.

Good luck and enjoy!!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!:):):):):):):):) I agree that "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" is an EXCELLENT book. I read each particular "week" every day just so I knew exactly what my little peanut was doing in there. It also offers excellent advice, tips, etc.

The Girlfriend's guide is also a fun read.
