For KarenVictoria in her time of need

Karen,

Thank you for posting the update. I know this is a difficult time, but your stories made me smile. It is because I can sense your grandmother has lived a fulfilled life, is surrounded my those who love her, and she will be at peace whatever the outcome.

My grandmother was so dear to me, she is the only person in life I have ever put on a pedastel because she was the only person I have ever known who lived up to it. Listening to you speak with love about your grandmother brings back memories and a smile thinking about mine.

Be open and honest with your children. I remember when my dear MIL was dying and my eldest son was 6 yo, he wanted to see her, he asked questions - the nuns in the hospital assured me if he asked to see her - he could handle it. If he asked the question, he could handle the answer. We can learn so much from our children.

Bless your grandmother, you, and your family.

Praying for You

Karen:

I am so sorry about your grandmother. I am keeping you and her (and the rest of your family) in my prayers. I still miss my grandparents like crazy, so I know what you are going through right now. Your update made me smile. Treasure those moments. I am hoping for the best and praying for her healing.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Praying for You

Karen-
thanks for sharing your Busia experience with us. It made me smile. The silly coments are ways to lightend up an otherwise difficult situation.

I just have to share one here.

When my Mom was dying of brain cancer, it did funny things to her mind. There were however moments when she seemd to be well oriented to time and place. We had discussed with her what clothes she wanted to be burried in and she choose an outfit that she had worn to my wedding. However she said not the shoes to match the dress because they would pinch her feet too much. THEN she started laughing. She said it was OK to waer those shoes because she knew she wouldn't feel the pinching after she had passed!

Judy!

Wow, that had to be a very hard/emotional conversation picking out a burial outfit! I can't imagine! Glad she was able to laugh about the shoes. Too cute!
