For Fun: If you had to go without your Cathes....

for 2 whole weeks, what instructors/workouts would you pick for cardio and strength? I do Cathe workouts 80% of the time, but this week I thought I would revisit some other's that I haven't done in quite awhile.

Today, I did Christi Taylor's Still Steppin' and KS, LWTLW(1)for arm work. I still love that one!

Tommorrow, I think I will do a Mindy Mylrea Awesome Intervals and Firm parts for leg work. What about you? Which would you choose?

If I didn't have Cathe (I would be terribly sad!) I'd do:

Tae Bo for cardio and Kathy Smith's Secrets of Great Upper & Lower Body videos

Cathe's KPC and all of her weight tapes far surpass those in fun and toughness though! I guess it'd be a light week or so.

When I first read the title of the post I thought "what obviously cruel world would this be?!?!?". I was relieved by the two week limit. I can breath again.

Okay, to answer the question.

Cardio- a mixture of Christi Taylor and Franny Benedetto. Maybe some other CIA's thrown in for variety and these two would make up the bulk of it.

Strength- a mixture of Kathy Smith and the Firm. I would consider those two weeks 'rest' weeks as the structure of the workouts makes it hard to go really heavy.

In my current situation, I add in a lot of other instructors for cardio variety but when it comes to strength, it's all Cathe!

I think I would have to come up with my own weight workout, I honestly only do Cathe for weights. But for cardio, I would do Chisty Taylor Hi Low heaven or still jumpin. Get the dust off of my aerodyne and ride that (boring!), and do Tae Bo. I don't mind any of these other workouts, other than the aerodyne, I do them every now and then anyway. Oh and I would do I want those abs from Tamilee Webb. Oh, and I would do Step Heaven too! Can't forget about that one. REally there are a lot of possabilities, I could also do Zumba. But They just wouldn't be quite as intense. I use these on light days, except for Hi low Heaven that one is pretty intense. I can also get pretty intense on the aerodyne, I just don't enjoy myself and look at the time a lot.

The only non-Cathe I still own is Gin Miller's Intense Moves. I would do that, obviously, but I would run, go to spin classes at the gym, swim and do weights on my own. I have CST and BBA memorized, so I would do those. And after 2 weeks, back to Cathe.

For strength: Another vote for Aquajock's strength workout.

Cardio: I'd put on a tape/music create my own bootcamp:
1 minute of plyos with jumping jack recovery for a brief period of time, 1 minute jumprope as intense as I can get, brief recovery. 1 minute of icebreakers, brief recovery, one minute of those scissor things I hate, longer recovery, 1 minute of squat/thrust climbers with airjump recovery }( }( }( , (get creative) etc......I'd do this for 40 minutes or so.

See you can be just as evil as Cathe if you set your mind to it!!!

I'd have to say I'd mostly do my own. Definitely for weights. Might use powerstrike, debbie burns, and janis saffell for some kickboxing, but I'd do a lot of biking and swimming mostly for cardio. And keep taking my regular yoga classes. I haven't found any other weight training DVDs that even come close to Cathe and I'm too strong now to do the wimpy stuff.
