Food Combining

Just wondering if anyone practices food combining. I've been reading up on it and it's an interesting idea. Tried today to just eat fruit before noon and although I love fruit I just didn't feel full. Ate some brunswick stew for lunch that was almost right combination wise and a salad but I still feel hungry. Not sure I'm cut out for it but am going to keep trying. Any information or tips will be appreciated.

Thanks!

The Suzanne Somers books give a good explanation of food combining.

There are some rules about eating fruit on an empty stomach, then waiting x hours before a carb meal and y hours before a protein/fat meal.

I did read it and follow it, but it was too long ago and I can't remember all the exact rules. I did not lose any weight with it, but as I recently posted, I rarely lose weight with anything so I'm really not a good example, but my dentist and his wife had amazing results by committing to this eating style.

Another good read for food combining is You Are What You Eat by Gillian McKeith. A good read, but food combining doesn't work for everyone. The type of food combining I find is most effective is eating protein and healthy fats together, and eating protein and carbs together, but not combining too much fat with carbs, as carbs turn to sugar and sugars and fats don't mix (Hence the reason we can't get lean eating ice cream and cookies).
But I did try a very disciplined food combining, and while I didn't notice much difference in wieght loss, my digestive problems went away. They also no longer exist due to the eating proteins and fats together, and not combining high fats with carbs.

I read Fit For Life years ago - by Harvey & Marilyn Diamond. That book introduced me to food combining. I lost a lot of weight following those principles, & I lost my migraines, too! I felt the best I ever felt. But, I wasn't able to keep to it. There are just too many carb/protein combinations that I love & can't stay away from...
