Cathlete
Hi ladies! I hope everyone's healthy & well. Congrats again to Emy on her new pregnancy. :D

Sun: Tae Bo Advanced #11
Mon: off
Tue: 15 min of Ab Hits
Wed: Cardio Kicks
Thurs: I want those Abs!
Fri: 5 mi run
Sat: 60 min raking leaves + Body Max *

*Challenge workout--and this was a long, but good one! :D :D Recommend it to anyone who wants a challenge. However, I was sore for two days after Cardio Kicks. This workout works my back like no other.

I had several days off, but my family really needed me this week. Tuesday my house was trashed & baby Justin was whiny. I spent the morning cleaning my home (mopping the floor, etc...)and putting things in order. You know, the domestic stuff us woman are made for. ;)

HI Everyone!
Melanie-I have only done bodymax 1 time. That is a long one! The whole time i did it i was wondering if it was ever going to be done.
When did you say Justin started to walk?Ashton is 9 mo. old today!I can hardly believe it-but he is seems like he is so close to walking-he will walk along furniture-then let go and just stand there-it is so cute!:) well anyway-here is my workout week
Mon.-Rythmic step
Tues.-MIS/4mile run
Wed.-Imax 1/abs/3.5 mile walk
Thurs.-4mile run/4 mile walk/shoulders (thanks briee!)
Fri.-P.S. tris,bis,chest,back,abs
Sat.MIC/2.5 mile walk*
*MIC was my challenge workout-this week i went back and did some of my old videos-next week i am starting a month rotation of the Intensity series....anyone want to join????
Well- ihope everyone had a good weekend!!

Happy 9 months, Ashton!

I'm still here because I don't feel pregnant yet. Well, not REALLY pregnant yet. But, I was sick (not morning sickness) this week, so I got in a measley 2 workouts.

Thu- Cardio X
Fri- Plyo X*

*I will call this my challenge workout. It was pretty tough actually with all of the jumping, especially doing it after not working out all week and being sick. I was going to do Body Max on Saturday for my challenge workout, but was too busy and didn't make time for it. It's funny how when you start the week off on the wrong foot (i.e. not working out), it's easy to continue the trend for the rest of the week.

Next week I have big plans for reviving my workout schedule so I don't get into a slump before the impending morning sickness and tiredness and whatnot.

Max is still fussy with his molar coming in. I am giving him ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen. I can tell it's working better. But, he is still somewhat cranky. Should I try teething tablets or anything else?

What are teething tablets? Funny how you ladies thought of Body Max too. I haven't done this workout in a long time. Cathe is super tough at the beginning with the cardio, but then it gets easier as you go on (in my opinion anyway). :)

HI guys!! Emy when I take a rest day it's tough to jump back in again...when I take two rest days....it's major tough...three rest days and I feel like I've never worked out a day in my life and I'm starting all over. I hate that!!!! But it happens and I'm sure that rests are good for us too!! Mel....my shoulder's been bothering me more than ever since I'm back in Tae Kwon Do again. Something about those sharp punches. I did heavy shoulders that other day and it didn't bother me HALF as much as Karate stuff does.x( x( x(

Sun - Imax II
Mon - Chest and Back (p90X) Ab ripper.
Tues - Legs and Glutes standing 39min. S&H squats and plie squats- heavy. Tae Kwon Do 1 1/2 hours - lots of leg lifts (abs)& pushups.
Wed - SJP Cardio 60 min - step and Hi/Lo
Thurs - Shoulders and Arms P90X , Ab ripper
Fri - Rest
Sat - P90X Legs & Back, S&H Legs HEAVY, Ab Ripper*

I'd have to say that my tough one was all the leg work on Saturday. I am in severe pain today. Hurts to go to the bathroom (sitting on the toilet seat - ever had this happen???). I did Slow and Heavy squats with a 92 pound bar and I have to say that I need another way to go heavy on squats. Maybe I'll have to invest in a weighted vest, but at this point - I WANT A SQUAT RACK quite badly. Christmas is coming!!!}( }( }( . Anyone have one of these and do you like them?? I would love to go to a gym just once a week for heavy leg work, but we are really in the country!!!

Briee (Noah just got another tooth!!!) Where's Maggie been??....the election is over!!!!

Hello Mommies!

Last week was a much better week for me for workouts. I feel like I'm getting back in the groove of working out reguarly again... Here's my week:

Sunday - Walked
Monday - P90x Legs and Back, Ab Ripper
Tuesday - P90x Core Synergistics
Wednesday - P90x CardioX, Ab Ripper
Thursday - off
Friday - Shape It Up
Saturday - CIA 9903 (Bootcamp) *

* The CIA video was my challenge -- but, it was a mild one. Today, my calves are a bit sore from all the jumping and my chest/arm muscles are achey from all the push ups. I'm a push-up weenie.

Maisie seems to have stranger awareness these days. I'm not really sure how to help her - I'm trying to decide whether to comfort her and remove her from the stranger or to let her cry through it. How have you dealt with it? She always cries when she is near my Mother-in-law and she now has hurt feelings. :(

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Briee, squats with a 92 pound bar. No wonder it hurts. I use a 20 pound bar.
Emy, congrats. Glad you are feeling well pregnancywise.
Smiley, Too funny that we both did cia 9903.

We were away for the weekend for my nephew's babtism. Alexis did well with the trip but was fussy last night and fell asleep around 7. She remains fatigued today. later I will take her temp. I like bodymax-a great mix. I find MIC cathe's toughest followed by bodymax. I avoid Mic in its entirity.

Workout week:
Sunday-step this way
Monday-Gautlet **
Tuesday-stepblast+SPJ abs
Wed-power hour
Thurs-cia 2Ko7 +cia 9903
Friday-off-travel and shopping
sat-firm-vol. 2

Where's the intensity rotation listed? I could take a wack at it. I typically workout just 4-5 days/week & most ladies here do 5-6 days/week. I"m slothful I suppose. ;)

Hey Melanie-I just found it in rotation forum.and.. idont think 4-5 days of working out is considered slothful!!;)

Smiley, I don't do well with month long rotations. I get bored.

Alexis is sick, 2nd day of low grade fever. Had her checked, no ear or throat problems. she has been sleeping since 10am, it is now almost 2. Hope she will still sleep tonight. Yesterday she was so tired, she just stared at her toys.

Poor Alexis, I hope it's not too serious and I hope you feel better soon!

Briee, Wow! How did you get that 92 pounder on your shoulders?! You didn't mention a spotter or anything! That must be like lifting your own body weight. You are C-R-A-Z-Y!

I'm glad Alexis is doing better. It's so awful when the little ones are sick. I always feel so helpless.

Justin has had thrush. This is week 3 of treatment. I started to put some Nystatin on my nipples in case I have fungal infection on my breasts--although I don't see anything they're sore today. Not sure if I have clogged milk ducts or fungal. The joys of bfing. ;) I was thinking about weaning baby Justin a little--limiting to AM & evening feedings, but he's just not ready. We'll wait until he's 11mos old (next month).

Smiley, just noticed your ? to me here, sorry I missed it! Justin was 9 mos when he began to walk. He's almost running now! Silly little guy. He was about 6 mos when he crawled and 4mos when he sat up. He seemed to want to walk since he was 4 mos old!!! I'm so happy for him, but he's getting big way too fast. His little bitsy hands look twice as big as the day I brought him home. :( What's a Mom to do?

Sorry Mel...yes I was one of the AWOLeeeeee's (is that a word). Been a busy week!!! Although sometimes I think I talk tooooo much and need to SHUT UP!! :7

For instance....I probably should not have posted weights up there. You guys are so nice to tell me that 92 is a lot of weight. BUT...I got to tell you ladies I am after a very specific goal here of muscle "growth". It's VERY different than using a bar within a normal Cathe/Firm endurance workout. Doing S&H with 3 sets of 8 reps at 92# goes by relatively quick. NOW .....doing LL with a 20 pound bar is almost torture and INIFINITELY harder for me than heavy weights. Most of the exercise vid's out there are endurance and get the body back in shape well....but I WANT MUSCLE GROWTH and for me it's NEVER occurred using endurance workouts. I'm willing to bet LOTS of money that you all can squat a 90 pound bar with a spotter or a squat rack. It's amazing how much you can do when you aren't doing ENDLESS "low ends" and what not. Did you all catch the "how heavy can you lift" thread a while back? These ladies were doing 150 pound squats, BUT they were using squat racks/spotters etc. That's why I mention that I'd like to go to a gym so I could utilize this equipment just once per week. Your legs can lift an incredible amount of weight if you really try. In order to "grow" your muscles you must continually add heavier weight and which means dropping reps and sets and pushing these muscle groups.

So....you guys are REALLY encouraging, but realize that I'm doing these heavy sets with much lower reps and LOTS of rest time in between. (I'm hoping that the HARDCORE will utilize this approach :) :) ). I think my legs were sore MOSTLY from the P90X leg workout....I always have a hard time sitting after that.  and smiley (I think it was you that asked)....I get under the bar by turning my weight bench backwards and then I get under the bar from the back of the bench. I DO NOT LIFT IT FROM THE GROUND. I pad the bar by taking those swim noodles (from walmart) and cutting them in peices and duck taping them on the bar (they have a hole through the center). They are the BEST padding I've ever found.

OOPs see Mel .....I'm talking too much!! Shopaholic.. I hope little Alexis is doing much better. Noah is walking across the room now. He has been taking a few steps for a about 3 weeks, but now he is so excited as he has realized he can go for further lengths. It's funny to watch because he holds his hands up when he walks....I don't think we've ever had another baby do this and he IS our earliest walker. The others all stood at 9 months without holding on to anything...but they never REALLY took steps until around 11 or 12 months.

Emy I'm glad your still here and aren't too sick yet, maybe this time will not be as bad :7 :7 :7
