Firm or Cathe?

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I have been firming for years now, and I feel I need a new challenge. Can someone please give my some advice on which Cathe videos I should start with.

Thanks Tonya

Hello Tonya. Welcome to the other side MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA }> Well a lot of people in these forums (including me) used to work out with Firm tapes before Cathe. Before you start buying Cathe's tapes you need to know that there are some differences in terms of choreography and use of space. Firm tapes have basic choreography and they use a little bit of space for cardio. Cathe's cardio tapes are mostly moderate and complex choreography and her tapes take up a lot of space. But don't get scared Cathe has very smooth cues. Of course you have to watch the cardio tapes a couple of times before trying them and you still might struggle the first couple of times with the choreography but you'll get it soon. She is that good! And in terms of space you can always modify like I do. You've been exercising for awhile so you can improvise with knee lifts or kicks or move in place if your space is limited. And of course there are the strength tapes. The best tapes on weight training I've ever seen (and I have a lot of videos!!!). I can't stop saying how much I love Cathe.

Well now my recommendations...since you've been a Firm believer for years I assume you're in great shape to tackle Cathe's Cardio Kicks. That would be my cardio recommendation. The focus is on intensity not choreography so you'll be able to get it right away. Plus, it's a lot of fun and you'll feel like a kickboxer hehe! And for strength training I would recommend the Pure Strength Series, Maximum Intensity Strength and Power Hour. Right now I'm struggling with Power Hour because it is completely different than Cathe's other strength training tapes, but I think it complements the PS Series and MIS very well. Well just my two cents. Good luck making a decision :D

Hiya Tonya and welcome! I, too, was a Firmie, until I found Cathes tapes and well, that was it. I was and am hooked. Her tapes are awesome and you WILL love them. I started out a year ago with (hmm, let me think) Step Heat, The Wedding Video (dont let the name turn you off, its such a great tape, has cardio and muscle conditioning, I did the whole thing today and just love it), Mega Step Blast, Bodymax (woe, what a workout), and Step Jam (you get a multiple video purchase discount) and here I am a little over a year later and have ALL her tapes and the Firm are covered with cobwebs (this is NOT to say that the Firm is not wonderful, but I must admit I find them so boring now, I hope I do not offend any Firmies out there, I certainly dont mean too!)I am such a Cathe-holic now, its almost pathetic, but if Im gonna be a "holic" of anykind, let it be a Cathe one! Good luck and get ready to see some amazing results!!!!!Judy

Just to confuse you further :D , my suggestion would be the Slow and Heavy Series, because it's such a departure from The Firm, therefore allowing you some serious "muscle confusion". Slow and Heavy is a strength only routine though, so if your looking for cardio, you won't find it with this series. It's also a "split" routine, broken up into three separate hour-long workouts.

Just a word of warning, once you get bitten by the Cathe bug, you'll be on a mission to acquire all of her workouts!

Very true! I've gotten bit by the Cathe bug in a big way! I Firmed for several years and swore that I'd never even think of doing anything but Firm. Well, things are certainly not that way anymore! I now own several Cathe tapes and am probably getting into the *best* shape of my life! Now...that's not to say that The Firm did not give me good results (after all, I dropped 2 sizes with The Firm!) I am just saying that Cathe has challenged me in ways unimaginable and is so different from The Firm. I like both but have to say that I see (and feel!) significant results from Cathe opposed to my years with The Firm. I would really recommend trying Circuit Max. It is an all around workout that hits everything! Good luck and welcome board ;)

You people are just wonderful here:)

I am going to purchase Cathe's CTX. Thanks again for all your wonderful advice.
