Hi Ladies,

I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant and of course I am in the VERY early stages! 4 weeks thats all, baby should be due Dec 31 or Jan 1! Haven't seen the Doc yet either.

I am very active, usually running quit a few miles in a week, I love circuit workouts and so on.If anything I probably worked out to much.So you can imagine how many people were telling me yesterday to not workout so much.
I have one child but she is 10 and when I found out I was pregnant I threw everything down and all I did was walk.

Right now, I still have a bad stomach like I am going to start my period,so I figure I should take it a little easier until I feel more normal and get some pregnancy symptoms. My sister also said that this "cramping" feeling occurs when inplantation occurs...so I don't want to do anything to disturb that...might I add...we were trying for 4 yrs!

Anyway..I really dont know when I should resume normal working out.Im so afraid of miscarriage but then I tell myself that if I miscarry then it wasn't meant to be and something had to be wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Lori:)

That is GREAT news!!!!!The only thing I did when I found out I was pregnant was not to let myself get overheated. I continued to workout with cathe(and still do just modified) and listened to my body. If you want to take it easy for a couple of days than you should. Your body is working hard right now and it deserves a little rest. Keep us posted and come join the weekly check in. I think there are a couple of women due around the same time as you.

Hi Lori,

That is so exiciting!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I just found out on Monday, that I am pregnant with my first and I still can't believe it. My due date should be Dec 30, so we are exactly the same, how funny! I really can't give you much advise, but I took off the last 2 days from working out, because I was so tired and my DH told me too. ;-)

Lori, don't listen to non exercising people, listen to your body. If your stomache is off and/or you are tired due to first trimester, take it easy if not do what your body csn do. I felt great during my first trimester with dd#1 so I kept up all workouts at regular capacity. I had am sickness this time so I did take workouts down a notch. By second trimester, I felt good but bladder wouldn't allow very high impact so I stopped doing tapes like imax 2 and 3. I never check my pulse, I just know I am not overdoing it. Come join us on the moms to be check in.

Due 6/1/06 with dd#2
dd#1-9/12/03

Thanks girls!

That totally makes sense.Maybe I will take the weekend off until my tummy feels normal and then resume on Mon.

Kristine, we are due the same time.My sister was working yesterday when I called and she is a nurse so she must have looked at the calended they have there and she said I would be due Dec 31.But then I was talking to my friend who is pregnant and she said I should be due Jan 1. I may go early though b/c I have had one chile before.

And i will join you on the checkin!

Thanks a bunch
Lori:)

Lori & Kristine,

Congratulations to you both!! I am also newly pregnant - tomorrow will make 6 weeks. Based on the online calculators, I am due Dec 24. My first visit with the Dr. is on 5/22 so I'll see what she thinks. But this is so exciting!! This will be our second child.

So far, I haven't had any symptons really. I've had the same crampy feeling that you described, Lori and an occasional wave of nausea, but it doesn't last long at all. I've started modifying my workouts just a teeny bit - trimming the the total time to about an hour and not doing as many blasts. I keep waiting for the tiredness to hit, but so far I've been feeling great! Let's hope it stays that way.

Trish

Trish, you described me to a "T". I have been modifying my exercise alot and yesterday morning I wasn't sure how I felt. I thought I felt a little sick but I wasn't sure if it were all in my mind or not.
I am afraid to get to excited.Sometimes I get REALLY excited but then I am so scared something may happen and I don't want to forget the possibilities of what could happen.I know its not a nice way to think but so many people I know have miscarried and I wonder sometimes what makes me any different?
Other then the nervousness of something happening, I feel good as of now. I was in bed last night at 9:30 and up at 5:30...so I am more tired in the evenings then I use to be but I to am waiting for something to kick in hard. With my first child I was so sick it was awful!

Hi Lori,

I also feel like some of the symptoms are all in my head. With my DD I didn't experience any sickness either, so I won't be suprised if it doesn't get any worse.

It's okay to get excited and you should be:). Before my DD was born I lost a baby at 16 weeks and then spent my next pregnancy terrified out of my mind and constantly worrying that I would lose my DD as well. Afterwards, I regretted all of the worrying because I was never able to just relax and enjoy one of the most special times of my life. This time around I will enjoy every minute of it. All that I can do is take care of myself - eat healthy, excercise with moderation, swallow my horse pills AKA pre-natal vitamins:9, etc. I don't want to miss out on the joy of being pregnant this time around:7.

I hope you can relax a bit yourself;-)

So....have you eliminated abdominal work from your routine? For the past week I only did ab work once, but I'd really like to stick to 3-4 times per week. I also thought about just skipping the lower ab work....what are you doing? I haven't read anything about crunches, etc. being bad in the first trimester.

Toodles,
Trish
